That was the first time I heard his voice and I already want to punch him in the mouf.
Then you really don't want to stick around to hear him scream "candy!" whenever he sees a loot chest.
Honestly, by the something like fourth of fifth cumulative hour of watching him, Stockholm Syndrome had set in and I thought his 'boyish enthusiasm' was pretty funny. He was giving voice to my own, usually much quieter, "nerdgasm" at leveling up and looting looty loots.
Also, whoever was talking about what classes people will prefer, before Giantbomb most folks seemed to be favoring Mordecai. Now, Roland's stock has risen and it's pretty solidly Roland >> Mordecai >> Lilith >> Brick. as long as there are some people who want to play each, I'm not sure it really matters (but expect to see a lot of turrets thrown.)

Yeah, I'm having trouble picking all over again. At first I was interested in Mordecai, then it seemed like everyone was gonna play him, now it seems like everyone wants to play Medic Roland, which was what I was thinking of going with, now everyone else here is jumping ship to Lilith and Brick in the name of diversity, and now I have no idea what I wanna play, they're all pretty interesting, IMO.
I guess I should probably just pick what feels best and not worry about it, but still.
I just found an unclaimed copy that was going to be shelved at FYE on Monday. Now I just have to convince those cocksuckers at GameCrazy to give me my preorder money back.
Store opens at 9. I should be back here killin doodz at 9:30.
I was thinking of a shotgun/punchy brick, but the lack of skills for anything but explosives is kind of putting me off.
Not quite true. Sure, his blaster tree focuses mainly on rocket buffs, but he's got two skills that directly affect damage for any weapon (one for when you kill an enemy, the other for losing your shields), and hes got a reload speed / recoil reduction buff which should help him in other weapons disciplines. Even his top Blaster skill, Master Blaster, has a 60% rof increase on enemy kill that will affect other weapons as well.

Brick and Lilith both seem pretty free as far as weapon selection. Brick likes explosive damage and Lilith likes elemental damage, but where it comes from doesn't matter. That's part of why I'm going Brick on my first run, to get a feel for everything without feeling locked into a specific type of gun. Well, that and I haven't played a real FPS since the original Halo, and my dodging skills are probably horribly atrophied. His health and shield boosts are going to be crucial.

That's true, although a lot of Lilith's skills are related rate of fire (either increasing it or adding % chance per shot effects). So she's much more aligned with repeaters, SMG's, and combat rifles than she is with revolvers, snipers, and shotties.
My efforts to find a store with a copy sitting out for me to buy have been futile so far. I did discover that the Gamestop in Hyattsville, MD (3112 Queens Chapel Rd.) will be having a midnight release for pre-orders if anyone is so inclined. Sigh...

gross man.
just... ew.
I'm an RPG guy, what can I say. I've played Mass Effect and F03 since then, but I don't really think they're fast paced enough to consider true shooters.
Everyone make sure to account the sale of your currently equipped items when you're trying to scrounge the 'ollars for that lovely new gun. Your old sniper rifle will still sell for a pretty penny towards that epic artillery cannon with the scope. Too many livestreams make that mistake.
I know there are level 52 bosses, and "elite" versions there of, in the regular game. I'm sure newgame+ has even higher level bosses. So there's always that, going for the challenge. And there's always a better gun, somewhere. That and Gearbox seems pretty good with the DLC thus far.

Well,I guess once you got a max level character with amazing items, you can basically do two things: A) wait for DLC with tougher/new enemies/new loot or roll a new character and fit him out till he's uber.

Thirty seconds in the Mordecai skill tree yielded this
God damn every character has at least a few builds I want to try out.
I sure hope this game is entertaining enough for me to play through it the TWENTY TIMES it'd take to experiment with all the different builds I want to look at.
EDIT: I've narrowed down my first play through to either elemental/assasin Lilith, tank/blaster Brick, gunslinger Mordecai, or inf/supply Roland.
Oh yeah, really narrowed it down.
One of the things I really like about the skills are how many involve stat inflation when you kill a guy. I hope it adds a sort of momentum to the game like I'm envisioning.

If respeccing is as easy as they say, you shouldn't need to play through more than a couple of times with each and then just respec them and run around testing the build.
Lilith seems like she'd be a great solo-er what with the healing and evasion that phasewalk can give. Then again none of them seem particulary terrible solo-ers.

How can you skip ransack and swipe?
I guess I can move 5 out of Aerial Impact and put it in Ransack, but I like all my other skills
Ransack could go either way. If it guarantees an inventory item every time, yes it will be awesome. If it can drop ammo/health/money (which are like 90% of an enemies loot list), for me it won't be worth 5 skill points.

I watched a clip where he found a Legendary gun.
If I reacted like that over chat I wouldn't be playing with PA for much longer.

Should have seen his reaction to his first level up.
And Kid Mordecai is cute. :P

...Sold. Especially if the game keeps up with the style and humor those vids had.
Also, getting this on PC. Just hope I can get through it before Dragon Age comes out.

This is not a hijack. Just my weapon of choice.
And here I thought we'd be safe in a completely different thread :P

If you could make a side by side comic style of the one you made me before (demoweed) I would love you forever.
I tried making it myself but I formatted recently = no photoshop >.<

Imagine combining those 2?
Dazing a guy then shooting the shit out of him, only for coins to explode out of him everywhere.
Amazing.
