This really, really, really needs some fucking 4-player split-screen. For fuck's sake! I can count on none hands the number of even potentially 4-player games I've had in the past 5 years, much less good ones.
That said: my friend and I have really been enjoying the hell out of this.

the real question is,
which system did snoop dogg get it on?
and a follow up question is,
does any level 11ish want to kill some dudes and potentially pterodactyls with me. (Yeah I spelled it right, on the first fucking try off the top of my dome. Jurassic Park 4lyfe bitches.)
no refire? getting 5secs off the cooldown once every 2secs while shooting seems like it would be really useful for a turret build
I've considered it, but I already have 5 points in Deploy. I don't want to put too many eggs in that basket.
50 seconds is still a hell of a long time to wait for your next turret, especially if youre going solo. considering all the slick shield mods you'll stumble upon, you'd probably be pretty safe dropping Quick Charge in favor of Refire. And if you do the numbers, Refire has better potential than Deploy anyway. Deploy will always cut 50 seconds, but at its max Refire can have your turret ready in less than 30 seconds (for every 2 seconds that pass, you cut off 5 additional seconds of cooldown, so after 28 seconds you've cut off the full 100 second cooldown). And if there aren't enemies around to shoot, the cooldown time doesn't matter anyway.

Unsure, I think Snoop might be in the same clan/group as Ice T. I know Xzibit is.
the real, REAL question is: would you want to play with them in the first place?
I hear enough 'fo shizzle' and 'yo dawg' from people who DIDNT coin the catchphrases as it is.
Because then you could make a rap album and the lyrics could be all "YO FUCK SNOOP DOG I SHOT THAT DUDE 80 TIMES." Technically you would still be telling the truth and then sit back and $texas.
As much as I'm liking Mordecai with all his snipeyness, there just doesn't seem to be much about him that stands out. I'll finish a playthrough with him, but I think I'm switching to Lilith afterward.
Too bad, I really like his snickering after picking off a baddie.

Try speccing him with a doombird, might make him more noteworthy.

The way my friend and I have done it is that he gets to cheat, basically, while I manage all the baddies with Lilith's oddly aggressive game of tag. He just stays out of aggro and gets headshots, occasionally unloading revolvers when someone gets close.

I'll give it a shot, but to be honest the bird just isn't that interesting to me.
It is so fun to run directly into a group of enemies and just start punching them all in the face. It's especially fun when I have incendiary technology equipped and my punches set bitches on fire.
I haven't seen many people talking about using Brick, and that makes me sad. You can beef the dude up to take some massive damage and when you work on his brawler skill tree, you can whoop ass and get your health back at the same time. Win/win.

The thing is, the invisibility doesn't let you shoot, or attack more than once. It's just a good "get the fuck out of dodge" / "get the fuck behind the big guy and smack him in the head" kinda skill.
I think the lack of interest in Brick's melee ability stems from the game emphasizing its massive arsenal of weaponry. We all want to try out the fancy guns and Brick's power seems counter-intuitive to that.
This really, really, really needs some fucking 4-player split-screen.
Don't worry, they're releasing the SNES version in two weeks.
You know, if you split the screen I've been playing on into 4 parts, each of those parts would be bigger on its own than the entire screen I split in 4 to play Goldeneye as a kid.
Edit: People do understand that like, you still need to use guns even when you can melee, right? I mean, I try to lay a Daze on as many people as possible, then hit the shotgun.

It looks like the Brick in the live stream is pretty fucking buff, both in melee and the guns he's using. I guess melee doesn't really preclude him from using awesome guns!

True. I just hate split-screen. Especially 4-player. I have enough peripheral vision problems in shooters, that just makes it worse.
I imagine that they don't do 4-way split because of the game (and others like it these days) being too performance intensive for the consoles. Let alone the interface clusterfuck that would be.

I only melee when bitches get close to me. Can't have that.

well, but it does do extra damage on entering and exiting (which can be elemental-ized), and can do continuous shock damage if you so choose. so i can definitely see the appeal. (although the bird is pretty sweet too)

...but trying to read all the stats on loot and what-not would be a major pain in the ass with a quarter of a screen.

I got him all the way up in the pistols tree (skipping the health regen on kill and melee damage) with a class mod that boost the skills some more and adds 75% fire rate increase, and the damage is pretty crazy with auto pistols. Found a ledgendary that does 4x fire damage and 60 damage a shot, and it mows through everything I've fought so far very very quickly. Usually only take 3 or so bullets from it to kill a normal enemy, which is like .00000001 seconds.

Everyone says that every game. My response is that maybe they should become better at making things so that the things they make are good enough for me.
Seriously, Ultimate Alliance is the only local 4-player game not on XBLA. IF you count XBLA, you get another... 5, maybe. It's a crime.
Oh, and Rock Band/Guitar Hero. Which is why Rock Band spent 6 months straight in the drive when I had roommates.

Exactly. I'm level 21 right now and I'm using some pretty good weapons. Just because he has the berserker mode doesn't mean you can't still find good weapons to use. I mostly stick with a mix of rifle/SMG/shotgun. And I berserk when I'm low on health or when it's fun (which is always). If you have some favorite weapons of yours that you get proficient at, you can still lay waste to plenty of baddies.
Besides, just having the shield and health boost is a plus. I can take a ton of damage.

UA is single screen though isn't it? And Rock Band isn't hardware intensive.
And making it "better" is probably more of an issue with the console's hardware and not that the game wasn't made "good enough." If they made it workable for more split screens and players they probably would had to have cranked down the video settings to counter-balance the performance drop.

Sorry to whoever tried to invite me to a game, says we got disconnected. It works out since I figure I should watch some of this Phillies game. Is anyone having problems on the scavenge missions? It always seems like one part doesn't show up. It's probably just me missing something but those have been a pain just looking up and down in the same location for 10 mins.
Also, a rocket shooting shotgun sounds like an cool weapon but is sadly underwhelming.
Damn, I was looking forward to this and it was soldout when I got to my Wal-Mart. They had one sole PS3 copy left to taunt me. Argh.
Hopefully will co-op it on the weekend with a couple friends though. That should be good, I'm leaning towards Lilith for single but probably Roland for co-op. Turret goodness and all that.

On the other hand, you can get a three-shot revolver that shoots ACID bullets, so it balances out.
