Is there a list of the music for the different factions? I'm guessing that Drowning Doom features a lot of Doom Metal and Sludge/Post-Metal type stuff, but I don't want to run in to any story spoilers while I'm out looking.

Dimmu Borgir, Mirrothrone, even Dethklok play for Drowning Doom. It get's a pretty big list actually.
Perhaps they were dropped because they wouldn't have had music as distinctive as the other three? I'm sure the gameplay for Speed Demons could be unique, but in terms of music they could take from both Ironheade and Tainted Coil.
I'd guess that was part of it. That and the standard time constraints that come with any game. I'd still love to see them get in, through DLC or something. Fletus is just so cool!

Just how much Dethklok music is there in this game? I ask this because I am an avid Dethklok fan. AVID.

I must be getting old because I heard that track come up and scrambled to disable it ever playing again.
I've really only been able to enjoy the older stuff that's in the game.
My favorite Dethklok tracks are probably Go Into The Water, Thunderhorse, and Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle (the original one). I haven't heard too many of the songs from season 2.
Murmaider is pretty rough though. All those pinch harmonics.

You can still control the playlist during multiplayer, right? It seems like the faction I'd choose, but I'd have to get Dethklok out of there.
You don't get to individually pick songs in multiplayer, but you can change songs by hopping onto your stage. Also, when you're near the enemy stage, their songs play.
Hey, if you start a new game after beating it once, do you keep your upgrades and items?
Please don't try that. Instead use Chapters. I confirmed in Chapters you lose everything if you start over, but get everything back when you skip to the end and beat the last chapter. I can't confirm if what you find in Chapters gets added to what you got in the first try.
Well that's annoying, and totally putting me off from trying this game a second time...:?
Chapters IS how you can start over. If you never pick a new chapter, it's like playing over.
Man, either the driving is a little unwieldy, or I'm just terrible at it. Remember that scene in the first Austin Powers, where he's trying to...pull his car out, I guess, and he ends up having the car perpendicular to the corridor? I just did that with the Motorforge entrance.
So I read somewhere that there was going to be a fourth faction that got axed due to time constraints. They were going to be the demons based on Big Daddy Roth designs like Fletus and the Flame ticks (turned into the Summoning solo for the Coil). I'll see if I can find that article again.
I was thinking that myself last night. In the concept art for Fletus, there is one where his hero wings are drawn and described.
That's because, when racing Fletus, if you look at his back you can see his wings. Not that he wasn't meant to be a hero at some point, but the wings are there.
Any developer should love DLC.. they tell you you're getting neat bonus stuff, hoping you never notice that by the end of it, you've paid another $60 on top of the original purchase price.

I don't want DLC. I want a Drowning Doom shirt.
Darkness fills my heart with pain. (Causing -2 Attack to nearby enemies.)
I just played this game where I randomed Ironheade vs. Ironheade and all he did at the beginning was drop in on my guys and facemelt or attack and run. I don't even know wtf to do here. If I see him playing facemelter, I can try and pull my dudes out of range (in which case he can just stop the solo?) and shoot him with razorgirls... but it's only 50 fans if I kill him and more resources and time if he's taking out bunches of my guys. It allowed him to secure the resource node quicker and get his baron spam out faster than mine (which btw is the cheesiest strategy there is, but I've been able to learn how to counter it when not getting harassed). I don't know what to do here aside from just leaving my dudes to his mercy and going to facemelt his dudes.
I've had a few 4-5 min wins, especially vs. tainted coil. If tainted coil loses the first battle, they are royally fucked, especially vs. ironeheade.
Anyone know a good AI setting/faction/map to try and get the kill X with Y achievements? I figured I'd just get them in MP, but the games are always over by the time I reach t3-4 with the coil. Coil t2 is like equivocal to the other faction's t3 it seems.

DLC music for this game would be sort of neat though I probably wouldn't pay for it unless it was wicked awesome. Though it most likely would be.
Fuck.
Have they said if they'd do any DLC ?
All Tim Schafer said was that he loves DLC, when asked this question. That's all he has to say for now.
Would a Lyonwhite DLC faction add-on be feasable? I mean, it is just essentially a pallet swap of Ironheade but it could be interesting visually. At least it couldn't do much to disrupt balance since it's not something entirely new (maybe some different solos though).
I wasn't wildly impressed by the demo for this. I thought it was funny enough, but the gameplay was fairly mediocre hack and slash-y stuff.
But now some cruel and no doubt villainous person has made a thread title that mention Sacrifice... Which I guess I can kind of see, from the videos, even if it seems like a bit of a stretch.
So, how much of the game is RTS-ish, and how much of it is solo hack and slash-y stuff? Is it a long game?

It is an Action RTS. The single-player for it is an action/adventure game that teaches you how to appropriately play the Action RTS multiplayer. It's a good action/adventure game that is fun to play.
Edit: Not powering through, it took me about 12 hours to beat the single player. But if you like the game's Action RTS elements, the multiplayer is what will concern you most.
Edit Edit:
Also, you like Sacrifice, and the only game to even come close to maybe being like Sacrifice in a decade, that is in fact way way cooler than Sacrifice, is a "maybe"?

I play Battlezone, not Sacrifice. That's what I compare it to. It's the only type of RTS I play. I have a Sacrifice disc right here, but never played it because of midterms, and this arriving before the disc. I'm sure a Sacrifice player here could give comparisons.
I'm normally not even a blonde sort of guy, but yeah...
Anyway, damn escort mission. Am I accidentally shooting my bus? The game keeps telling me to nitro boost but I'm so close to the bus anyway that a Nitro boost would crash me into it, no? I did it once and Mangus started to tell me to watch out.

Yeah, they can blow up the bus if you're completely incompetent.
Anyway, so I'm playing through the single player campaign and I seem to be taking to the weird RTS style pretty well, and then I get to the
Sea of Black Tears
and I start off really strong, I get a huge army to charge across the bridge, I knock down the two speaker towers, and then the AI mounts a ridiculous comeback and completely ruins my shit. What am I doing wrong?
Have Bladehenge ready the second they counter-attack, have your troops in front of your Rock Crusher and in a defensive posture, and start making new units ASAP. Ideally you'll catch the Tree-Back in a couple of Bladehenge attacks. If your Rock Crusher gets crushed, try to double team with a Head-Splitter, Razor Girl, or Thunderhog. The first two for killing the Tree Back/Any large unit, and the last for healing your troops and keeping their melee stunned.
I just won a Ranked Mirror Match with a Drowning Doom player. Level 2 Units have such monsterous Double Teams. Lightning Rod is the best. And opponents fall for Silence every fucking time.
