Is this about people crying on how Gabe and Tycho misrepresented the Templars, even though they haven't played the game and have no idea about the Templars to begin with?

Yes, that's one of the reasons. However it's mostly because this game is just a single player mmo clone of wow with a bunch of shit stolen from The Witcher.

I hear these guys ripped off Baldur's Gate so fucking hard.

Hell yeah. Honestly, I don't know why the company who puts up with Baldur's Gate doesn't say anything. Even the interface is like an almost direct rip! If I wasn't boiling with such rage I wouldn't even be bothered with this hackjob of a game.
I mean, man, the last good thing Biowhore's done in years was Sonic & The Dark Brotherhood. Everything else has been shit and clones of other better games.
Edit: Please ignore the Mass Effect game in my Gamertag. I'm just using it for the Fox News articles I'm writing up.

I wish every game were just a Baldur's Gate rip off.
Its got a unique atmosphere and the combat system is really love it or leave it. I've got it on my computer and can't bring myself to get past Act 1, because the combat system feels so clumsy and unresponsive. I know there's a good story in there, but god damn if I'm going to suffer through the gameplay for the story.
Edit: The Witcher, that is
Sigh... I hate it when people only play the witcher up to act 1. Act 1 sucked... I hated it. I was so gung-ho about the witcher, but a few hours into the game I was really starting to question how good the game really was.
Then I got into the city (act 2) and suddenly the game started to become a little more interesting. I had a few more combat moves, a few more spells, and the story was just starting to draw me in. By Act 3 I was f*in hooked!
It was one of those rare games that just gets better and better and better as you play. By the end it was one of the best fantasy RPG's I've played in YEARS.
It is really f*in lame.
Which is why I gave up on the Witcher in Act 4, I hated Act 1 and was just getting into the stuff in the city in 2 and 3, and they dump me back out in Act 4, and I said enough of this.
My only complaint about the witcher is how easy it is to screw up the Act 2 quest like I did.
I should replay it with a guide so I can figure out
that the detective becomes Azar Javed
before it is revealed. That entire detective case can be ruined far too easily.
Post-Act 4 Spoilers
You can have sex with the Lady of the Lake, and slay a Cthulhu-esque deity. What isn't great about that?
Ironically, I had to uninstall The Witcher to make room for the 20 gigs of Dragon Age.
Not really. The only thing that Baldur's Gate added to the Realms was its major plot twist, which is just a bit of conjecture from previous material. Otherwise...it's all been there already. Scar has a writeup in the Old Gray Box, for example, so forth and so on.
Edit: Also, there's material in Baldur's Gate that hadn't been officially published before but had been written up by Ed etc: the Roll of Years and the story about Jergal handing down his powers, for example.
If I don't pre-order the game do I reasonably stand a chance of picking a copy up on November 3rd (assuming it follows typical release patterns and arrives the day after the street release)? I hate pre-ordering games, but it seems like EB and the like are seriously pushing that now (going to the lengths of only ordering enough copies to fill pre-orders) and Best Buy is usually a few days behind in making new games available.
Granted, there were some ridiculous threads, but at least it looked a lot better.
Also, remember that the social site forums gave us the abominable I wanna date your avatar-thread.

I'm actually a lot more interested in what the Toolset page features omit than what they include. You can create new architecture, new voice acting/quests, and new scripted encounters. It completely omits new items, abilities, characters, or anything under the hood. The difference between what's been described so far, and what the other games had is pretty significant. It's like the difference between the Starcraft map editor, and the Warcraft 3 editor.
Here's hoping they're just waiting for another day to announce more of the toolset's capabilities.

Dragon Age: Origins: Basically a single player clone of The Witcher MMO.

You think were joking?
All bioware does is rip other people's ideas off!1!1
Game of the decade.
I wish every game were just a Baldur's Gate rip off.
Dragon Age is actually ripping off Two Worlds.

This is completely off-topic, but you need to check the latest page of the video game sales thread.

Teach me to not pre-order a game so late, finally found one though.
Same here. I was sad to see it go, but it's been a while since I played it anyways.
Also that Two Worlds ripoff comment killed me. Thanks Fiaryn.

I predict much
Seriously.
No no no you're doing it all wrong.
Well Baldur's Gate was just a ripoff of the real Forgotten Realms pen and paper experience, after all.

So apparently they nuked the official forum and now all that's left is the crappy one on the social site. Le sigh.
And the old official forum wasn't crappy?
Because, I mean, it was an official forum.
Long will I bemoan the passing of such valuable threads as "Is Shale a romance option????"

20 Gigs?? They had better start the preload a good week in advance!

Shale has been assigned as female, as far as I'm aware.
I would be so excited if I could start preloading tomorrow.
I'm allowed to dream, damn you!
She's got a pretty husky voice.
