I'm actually a lot more interested in what the Toolset page features omit than what they include. You can create new architecture, new voice acting/quests, and new scripted encounters. It completely omits new items, abilities, characters, or anything under the hood. The difference between what's been described so far, and what the other games had is pretty significant. It's like the difference between the Starcraft map editor, and the Warcraft 3 editor.
Here's hoping they're just waiting for another day to announce more of the toolset's capabilities.
While it doesn't say anything about items, it does say this:
Be the Director - Create your own stories with the powerful cinematics editor that offers full control of the camera, voice and lip syncing tools, and a full character creator.

Long will I bemoan the passing of such valuable threads as "Is Shale a romance option????"
Oh come on, you have to admit that would be awesome. I'm only partially joking; if it was well written and they played it entirely straight (in a nonsexual sense) it would be the best RPG romance ever.

Your penis is in your right hand right now, isn't it?

Sorry, I meant more like unique characters/monsters and was using sloppy terminology. I know you can make $lvl10_dwarf_warrior any way you want. I'm curious if you could, say, make a new character class that wielded polearms, complete with polearm specific abilities, along with str/dex/cunning/con affecting base damage differently.

We're in the Dragon Age thread, 1 week from release. Isn't everyone's?
You guys should pretend this isn't a BioWare thread and stop that.
I know I'm going to regret saying this, but...seriously. Even a page of Tower of Hanoi jokes would be better than this.

Some asshole lied to me and said that Inon Zur had the complete version of the main theme and "I Am the One" on his site. I don't see it, but that may be because I am retarded.
One of my buddies if helping to run it, so I'm interested. (Also, I get a bigger bonus if Dragon Age sells well, and I need bonus money to pay for my son's H1N1 treatments. So, you know. I'm like Fantine selling her locket in Les Miz, only I'm posting on a website.)
"Teams have been selected from around the globe made up of Dragon Age: Origins fans from Canada, Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States as well as a team composed of fans chosen directly from the BioWare Community. Team members are being flown to London England, put up in a posh hotel and given access to play Dragon Age: Origins before it is available in stores and have a chance to be the final team of Grey Wardens who will win and share $50,000.
This is more than just a rush through the game. Dragon Age: Origins is a deep role playing game loaded with complex choice, branching dialog, vast areas of exploration and visceral combat. Teams will be scoring points not just for trying to get to the end of the game, but for number of enemies killed, areas explored, achievements earned and much more."
It sounds pretty cool, but I don't want to spoil the game for myself...

Got an email today from Amazon informing me that DA:O has been upgraded to Release Date shipping.
So now I'm getting it for $42 and a little change, with a few silly bonus items, no tax and free shipping, delivered on release date, and with a $10 credit towards my next game purchase from Amazon. So glad I ordered it from them 8-)
One of my buddies if helping to run it, so I'm interested. (Also, I get a bigger bonus if Dragon Age sells well, and I need bonus money to pay for my son's H1N1 treatments. So, you know. I'm like Fantine selling her locket in Les Miz, only I'm posting on a website.)
Does your son have an autoimmune disease or some other form of immunodeficiency? Such as is he extremely young and without a fully formed immune system? H1N1 is about as dangerous as normal flu, it's just faster spreading, why is it so bad for him, are there underlying problems it is effecting?

Does your son really have H1N1? That's awful.
Sorry. That was me riffing on my own angst. He's got a fever. We've got a few cases of H1N1 at the office and a few more at his kindergarten. So, you know, trying not to panic, getting parental about it... the usual.

Self flagellation might sway the Lord to have mercy on you and spare you from the dread plague....if you're lucky.
On another note, this game is coming out too soon. I will be unlikely to hit level 40 in Aion before its released, much less hit the level cap.

And I also assume you're not a prostitute dying of tuberculosis, but then, I don't know you all that well.

I know you've found it on his website, but if you want a more permanent copy, you can also install the character creator and find the main theme under data\launcher as background.wma.
Ugh, so if you want to have a beard or stubble on a human male you have to use the terrible long, thin head and gaunt cheeks default face. And there's no way I can make my guy and not have stubble.

Stubble isn't effected by it as far as I can tell. I made this guy and he doesn't have horrible sunken cheeks.

My son has had a fever twice in the last two months, both times only lasted one day, but yeah, it can be scary, especially because he's only two so he gets those crazy high fevers that adults don't get unless they are incredibly ill. The boy is doing somersaults in the living room with a 104 degree temperature. Great.
I'm glad he doesn't require treatments. I felt bad for a minute for canceling my preorder.
Yeah, I'm really hoping that gets changed in the full game, I usually prefer a beard of some sort and not being able to adjust cheeks/jaw with any beard option is frustrating. Have we heard one way or the other on whether that's working as intended currently or if it will be fixed come release?
I was kind of hoping the character creator would be impressive. Its pretty lame. Its leans more towards Oblivion's "minimize how ugly your character is" rather than "make the coolest character you can".
Not that it really matters that much, I'm still going to play it.
Also, pancake, all 3 female options are unappealing.
They probably disable the cheek/mouth/jaw options to avoid clipping issues. If you picked the fattest cheeks and widest jaw and chin, skin would clip through the beard when the character talks.

I didn't have a hard time making a good looking character with the creator at all. It's pretty easy to make super models. There are some ugly presets, yes, but there are a few which are good that you can easily tweak to be great.

All three female options are pretty awesome.
As a connoisseur of fantasy RPG babes, I assure you that they are not. You cannot make either a buff amazon chick or a curvy lady.
On the plus side, you get some pretty cool facial hair on the men. No Fu Manchu 'stash though.
I really like this character creator. Its way better than Oblivion's, which was basically move the sliders two clicks away from the center and you have an unholy abomination.
Also I made a tough looking redhead chick which matches my Shepard from mass effect so I'm happy with the female stuff.

Snazzilicious, even.
And... Good god. What do your marketing fiends intend to do to those poor people?
I'm hotly anticipating some thunderdome action. Or perhaps an eagle shaving contest in the alps.
No, I'm right. Damn.

The winning team mates have to share that $50,000.

I really just want the awesome sideburns, but since the sideburns are one of the beard options I can't get them without looking emaciated
Weak. I"ll probably go with Human male since its the only decent one, then. The others look like crap.
