Big fight tonight, Liddell vs Ortiz 2, for the belt. Liddell is the current champion and is a mean, mean fighter. Tends to destroy all opposition. Ortiz is the former champion, and has been training quite a bit. I'd say Liddell probably has the advantage but it could be a very good fight.
Plus there are a bunch of potentially interesting side bouts. Forrest Griffin vs Kieth Jardine should be interesting. Several other Ultimate Fighter alumni are fighting too, including Chris Leiben (I fucking hate him), and Michael Bisping, the british kickboxer.
Anyone here care? There are martial arts threads every once and a while, I figure there must be some interest here. I'd be interested to hear others predictions for the fights tonight, or just UFC talk in general.

I've watched a bit of PRIDE, and I dont see too much fo a difference. I dont like that in PRIDE you can't use elbows, that seems to lessen the effectiveness of ground and pound. On the other hand, it allows kicks and stomps to a grounded opponent, which I like because it keeps the ground action interesting.
I can agree with you in the heavyweight division anyway. That guy Fedor would just destroy Silvia.

I dont know about Tito though. I havn't seen him fight enough to get a good feel for him, but Chuck is just such a brutal fighter. I dont have a favorite myself, but I'm leaning toward Chuck for the win.

Well thats kinda the thing about Liddell. You dont see him on the ground because he is one of the hardest fighters in the UFC to takedown in the first place. His sprawl is extremely impressive, and in the event he does get taken down, he's usually able to wriggle his way out of it and get back on his feet.
But really, I dont know what his wrestling game is like. I'd be inclined to think that Tito would have the advantage there, but Tito will have a damn hard time taking him down in the first place.
