Shepard really gives the dumbest ass reason for doing it, too. Pretty much every other Renegade choice you can make a decent argument for, but there's no logic to greasing her.
Unless you just hate sexy blue "HERP DERP BY THE GODDESS" chicks.

    It was pretty weaksauce.
I thought she was going rage against the dying of the light and fight me. But she goes all stoic and shit. She could have violently protested my wasting her just a little bit FFS. Everyone else does. But no, she has to go and die with dignity. Why did Saren have to go and feed the Thorian the only stoic Asari in the goddamn Galaxy?

For some reason I didn't have a problem killing Shiala. I actually had to sit there and work myself up for a couple of minutes in order to destroy the Rachni, though...

Apparently I hate sexy blue aliens who don't mind dying and love repentant giant cock-roachy insectoids.

Also, don't Google Shiala unless you like Beef.

i find it so fucking hard to be a dick to my crew

i tried with ashley, kaiden, and tali

but the worst thing is they just get hurt by it, they don't fight back

    they're just upset

wrex really doesn't have a "be a dick to" option, or liara

i mean you can be all "eh, who cares" about the genocide when he tells you about it, but then he's all "fine, be that way, i don't give a shit", that's about it

liara just has the whole "ew you are all lesbians and you are gross and dumb" and she's kinda confused

with garrus, he just learns to be you if you're a dick to him

wanted to ask anyone else if they've had the same problem I had. I've tried playing full renegade for shits and giggles on several occasions, but no matter how evil I think my character is, or how drunk I am when playing I can never, ever, kill Shiala at the end of Feros. I can commit genocide against Rachni, kill the Council, promote Udina, shoot wrex (second hardest thing tbh), but not kill Shiala. Something about executing someone who kneels down in front of you in cold blood manages to completely put me off the renegade choice and renShep completely. Anyone else had the same happen?
Yup, me too. I did the renegade thing once but then had to load a previous save and do the paragon thing. It was just too disturbing. In other words, a really well written scene.

Totally agree with you on that Pacal. I've never had a game engender feelings of such guilt and regret like that before, even though ostensibly I'm "supposed" to pick the renegade choice to max out the renegade points etc. Bioware: damn fine work.

I've executed Shiala a couple of times and it just feels awkward.

My Shepard looks awkward doing it, like she wants to change her mind but would feel silly backing down at that point.

    Or maybe I'm projecting.

    Some planets were nice

FUCKING MONKEYS I HATE THEM OH MY GOD DIE

Those were the only part of the game which I found jarring. Planets with mosses are fine, or even Thresher Maws as I imagine they originated elsewhere and then got seeded. But with the monkeys the environment was just blatently not one which would lead to their evolution. There were no smaller animals for them to feed on, nor were there the appropriate surroundings for their bodies to acquire the shape they were in.

    Proof of intelligent design?

    Wait what monkeys

Are you telling me some planets in ME have actual living beings on their surface, other than your run of the mill geth/space pirates guarding a building?

Yeah, there're monkey-types, cow types, and something else?

    240px-Spacemonkey.jpg

    300px-Spacecow.jpg

    Ah, yes, beetles too:
    150px-Ontarom_Beetles.jpg

One of the cows is described as 'shifty-looking' and will steal your credits if your back's turned.

what the fuck? i've been through the game twice with different choices yet ive never seen any of those.. what planets are they on? are the pc only or something? D:

I think there's five or six (nonsensical) life forms in total around the ME Universe. And all they really do is serve to show the player just how empty the ME Universe is.

Sure it's varied and artistic, but despite all the outposts you find, something like 95% of them are deserted or destroyed somehow... There are five places in the game you can interact with anybody in a non-violent way.

Talk earlier about the planetscapes just reminds me of something that bugged me a bit. Some of those planets, like the one with the Red Giant mentioned earlier, have the system's local star in the sky with a starfield surrounding it. Shouldn't the light from the local star basically blot out all the rest of the stars in the sky, even if the planet doesn't have an atmosphere?

I guess they made those planets like that because it looks amazing, but it still bugged me a little bit.

Man, I drag Garrus' ass in with me every time I waste Saleon just to show him how to do it right.
