My cousin has cancer and is on life support, they are probably going to pull the plug this weekend. She's 27 and has a son...I'm just angry that I never really kept in touch with her. My family is very disconnected. So I guess when one of us dies, it wont hurt as much.
Wow, that sucks, JP. My condolences to the family.

eh I could see myself dying then, not before plunging into overwhelming insanity and sorrow though
oh uh hey totp
Everybody below or around 20 thinks they're going to die by 30. Until you reach about 28 -29 and then you're all "fuck I don't want to die now, better start looking after myself better"
Okay, not everyone, but a fair few of them.
EDIT: Haha Loom, you've been quoted and there's nothing you can do about it!
I say it's because of being beaten by a stick that confers ugliness, an 'ugly stick' if you will.
But the official reason is because I "ain't got no alibi".

So I'm reading some excerpts of the Koran for my Literature class... I'm not sure if what we're given is really a complete picture, but I can't believe this is more dry than the Bible.

I've always wanted to give the koran a run through...never got around to it though. I like reading scriptures, minus all the dogmatic bullshit there are usually some really solid nuggets of wisdom contained within it's holy bindings.

The koran seems to bypass all the metaphors and parables of the Bible and just tells you "do this, do that, don't fuck a goat" etc. I mean, its very clear as to what it actually means (where as the Bible can lead to a number of interpretations....) so I can certainly see why its important.
Its just not very enjoyable to read (what I've read so far).
edit: although this line would make an awesome tagline to a movie "Have no fear of them: fear Me."

Does it say what to do if you've already fucked a goat?
What? I'm just asking?

Hahaha, well, that point isn't actually in there.
But if it was, the following would likely say "if you had given the goat a dowry already, you must let the goat keep it for that would be improper and unjust to take it back. Repent to God for he is merciful"
They're streaming all of their albums and splits For free.
Its essentially what would happen if Johnny Cash started up a punk band and they all got really drunk one night and decided getting a cello player in the band was a fuck awesome idea. Then, after the morning hangover, they realized that it was still a fuck awesome idea. Their newest album is possibly their most conventional so... I linked to that one directly. All of their albums are pretty much amazing though
I actually have never gotten the chance to hear anything but Red Tooth and Claw. I didn't know who they were at the time, and that was the only album available

I'd personally recommend going with "Who will survive and what will be left of them" followed by "Like the exorcist but with more break dancing" then "In bocca al Lupo" and then the splits (esp the 3rd one with Amanda Palmer sooo good) and finally Finch.
Finch is great, but its really short and all instrumental... it really rewards on repeat listens.

I got to see them last spring. They're one of the few really cool bands to come out of this town.
I'm glad they seem to be catching on.
PS: Your description is exactly how I describe them to my friends
Did they play the Medley of Evil when you saw them? God, that'd be my highlight of my month if they played that at the show I went to.
edit: Haha, ^5- Great minds and all that
So this is a great opportunity!

has Neurosis done anything else like Times of Grace (the song, not the album)?
Most other metal bores me after a few songs.
I'm totally into Metal
Isn't that like, masturbation?
