Finally finished Hold Angel Gate in Dawn of War 2 Stupid mission. >.<
I have to do this still!
How long did the mission take you? I've heard it's long with lots of enemies throughout...
It is a long mission and I found it ridiculously hard compared to the rest (both prior and subsequent missions) Took me multiple attempts but I was doing it wrong >.<
First part of the mission Is easy, it then gets stupid.
Not really a spoiler but make sure to take the Dreadnought in your squad.
I plowed through some more of this last night and am really hoping to hit the end soon.
Oops...I just realized what mission you are talking about. I remember that one. Think I lost on it once or twice.
I just have the final mission left on my campaign. For some reason when I read that I thought that's what you were talking about.
Also, Dreadnought rules.

I have this and love it to death, but the lack of in mission saving irritates me.
Dreadnought assault cannon is pretty much game over for non boss enemies. You can kill 3 or 4 entire squads in one sweep. Anyway, up to the final world of Donkey Kong '94, almost sad to see it finished, it's such a great game.

!Update 2/16
Buzz! is finished. I just haven't gotten perfect scores on all the quizzes (any?). Not trying for that...
I may have given up on Assassin's Creed 1. There is a good game here, but I can't dig through the garbage. I actually like the modern day stuff and the storyline in Jerusalem, even if I can barely hear anything due to no subtitles/playing at night while people are asleep. But I'm only ~3 assassinations away from the end, and I just want to beat it and never touch it again (helps that I've got AC2 on the way). Also want to finish Batman.
Actually, due to Amazon offering me 17 dollars for Animal Crossing Wild World for DS, I got nostalgic for Animal Crossing and almost didn't send it in/started to play again. Then I saw my town in a weed covered, covered in trash shambles.. Oh well, I'm sure I'll cross paths with Tom Nook again one day.
When I finished AC1, I got a little nuts with it. For the first half of the game I did the bare minimum to do the assassination, but about halfway through I decided to gather all of the info from the source and use it to plan the perfect kill, and if I got discovered I considered it a failure. I guess I sort of RP'd it up a bit, although the game didn't really offer me any incentive to do so.
It made it a lot more fun for me, though YMMV.

I have points burning a hole in my digital pocket on Goozex, so I wanted to pick up something plain for my PSP to play on. Lumines was available instantly, so I am eagerly awaiting my first trade reception! Plus, free student trades through January! WIN!
Well my copy of Halo 3 came in, so time to bathe in my financial ineptitude.

Will likely finish H3 tonight or tomorrow morning, just playing on Normal mode. No XBL Gold right now, so no multiplayer to eat up my time. Need to work on FF3, but after hearing the horror stories about the final dungeon I'm a bit hesitant.
Ordered Lost Odyssey. Going to borrow a 360 to play it. I would have bought Tales of Vesperia too but I didn't have enough money on my 3V voucher and couldn't find it in the shops.
Finished Halo 3, very satisfied with the ending (once I looked up the Legendary mode ending that is). Tied things up nicely, left room for more games, but not with a cliffhanger. Warthog escape sequence as entertaining as ever. Throw in just a pinch of bromance and you get a mostly satisfied customer.
Going to up things to Legendary and try out co-op when I get the chance.

Mowed through the 60% or so left of the story mode in 2 sessions today. I enjoyed things much more than I remember enjoying the original Resistance - weapons, story, graphics, and so on. It actually makes me want to go back and give the first one another shot.

Damn, i have to pack up my stuff in preperation for a move after christmas, this puts STALKER and most of my PC games on hold.
Time to finally beat Henry Hatsworth, i guess.
I have a lot of traveling ahead of me the next two weeks so i guess it makes even more sense to spend the HMV gift card i have on Spirit tracks.

On one hand I Fell Off the Wagon and bought Modern Warfare 2. On the other hand I Beat It (the single player portion) so the purchase doesn't affect the length of my backlog. But on yet another hand the multiplayer portion is seriously cutting into my ability to play backlog titles...

i wen to check the HMV card, turns out there was only 10 pounds on it.
God my old job were stingy, stingy bastards.
MAn, I love this thread, it's making me replay games that I shelved because I reached an impasse. Afro Samurai was doing my head in way back when it started to get really repetitive. As awesome as chopping dudes up is, it gets boring eventually. Put it back in and knocked out a fair few levels. Only 3 stories to go! Also started on Quantum of Solace which is a breeze and shouldn't take too long. One more night and that'll be done.
I was going to get tekken 6 until I learned that to get the silly ending movies you have to go through a whole bunch of the awful looking tekken force style beat em up mode.
Anyway, started mirror's edge. Barely out of the tutorial and I'm already skipping the story segments. Why did they have to crap up their spectacularly beautiful game, with it's brilliant art direction, with these crummy ass flash cartoons?
I decided that I'm not going to sign up for this because I'm not going to be able to keep up my current pace of beating games once school starts again in 2 1/2 weeks.
However, I want to report that I beat Drill Dozer on the GBA last Sunday and thus finished off all of my GBA games.
I'm currently working on Crono Trigger DS, which I've had since this summer but never finished. I'm also working on Call of Duty 3 (36), which is another game that I've owned for 2 years and never finished.
Lastly, I'm nearly finished with World of Goo, thanks to being able to have my personal laptop at work and lots of down time with nothing to do.

I've gleaned from the ME threads that the story was tacked on near the end. Gameplay was made first, then they brought in Terry Pratchett's kid to sort of jam in a storyline. Even Ricotello from EA mentioned something about how ME2 if it happens would be built stronger from the ground up.
!UpdateStatus - 13/77
I finished up the story for Puzzle Quest last night.
I also completed the 7th chapter of Momohime's story in Muramasa. As much as I am loving this game, it is too bad that the translation is half-assed. As I am playing through, my wife will laugh or say "hidoi!" ("That's mean!") when she hears some lines of the Japanese dialogue, but the English subtitles don't have much to illicit that sort of response.
To give an example from last night: The chapter seven boss is a very large, muscular female lightning god with enormous hips/thighs, etc. After you defeat her, another god is consoling her, trying to soothe her damaged self esteem. The English for what he says to her to make her feel better reads "I am fond of you." The Japanese dialogue? "I really like big butts!"
Getting groceries yesterday, when I glanced at a bargain bin. Saw Lost: Via Domus and 50 Cent Blood on the Sand in there for $9.98 each.
I am but a man.
I grabbed 50 Cent because I wanted to play 2 players with my bro, then when I got home I realized it was online 2-player only, so that's out. I plan on getting into it soon, though.
Bioshock - beated, good ending even i think. Sure seemed like a good ending anyways. I admit the game had some moments, and some really good ideas going for it, but damn, it just did not drag me in. Which seems a shame for all the praise hyped on it.

In the good ending, the little children surround you like Mother Theresa. You would know if you get the bad ending. Trust me. Just Youtube it if you are curious.

Yep, good ending. Its gratifying to know that I was making the right decision all along despite how the game try's to screw with you the whole time.
I think ultimately the story was VERY good, but the vehicle to get there just didn't work so well for me. But i tend to get that way with FPS's* after hour 10 anyways.

Ugh. Killzone 2 just isn't hitting me the right way at all after Borderlands and Resistance 2. Might have to put this back on the shelf for a bit and work on something else.
And another one bites the dust. Jade Empire is finished. OK for a Bioware game. Defiantly flat on making me care one wit about anybody. But that's how it goes sometimes. Combat was really flat as well. Jump behind, pummel it a bit, jump behind it again. Repeat.
!Update 6/55
Knocked Quantum of Solace just moments ago. Seriously short game, done in two nights, around 5 hours or so. Enjoyable, just short. This thread is probably the best thing to happen to my gaming lifestyle. I'm picking games up I shelved because I got bored of them, only now it's been sufficient enough time that I actually enjoy them.
Afro Samurai was really grinding way back when but I'm playing through it now and loving it. Should be done with it in a few nights. Seriously, 6 games since I signed up for this and I;ve been on for what? A week?

I intend to, but I'm going to wait for the price to drop. I just can't justify $60 for such a short sounding campaign.
Tried Halo 3 online for the first time, had a lot more fun than I expected to. Between that, resubscribing to WoW, and the TF2 update I think my list is going to be put on hold for a bit.

This is true. On the other hand, after finishing Borderlands, Dead Space, and Resistance 2 in basically three days, I really want to just keep banging games out. Especially since the backlog progress will slow immensely by next Wednesday. And then I'll get the inevitable half dozen or more games as Christmas presents next Friday. FPS games are generally nice and easy to finish quickly.
On the other hand, having fun is more important than making progress. I did pick Killzone 2 back up for a bit though, and banged through the first three missions/chapters/whatever. I think my two complaints here are a lack of interesting weapons (thus far) and controls that feel very clunky - in particular the R3 to aim mechanic, and the need to press R3 again to leave aiming mode. A lesser complaint would be that the story/cinematic/voice acting feel very Gears of War to me thus far, and that just feels a bit tired at this point.
I may or may not keep up with this one, but either way I'm following it up with Afrika or Aquanaut's Holiday
Alright spider boss in Metroid Fusion. You can go fuck yourself. I have officially thrown my DS for the first time.
Is that the one where you can roll into a ball in the corner? I recall that boss being cheap until I learned to be cheaper.
And then I recall stopping right after that boss fight because of the cheap sequence directly afterwards.
edit: I hear Killzone 2 has a weird default control setting. Try setting it to the third choice, which I hear is more normal.
That's the one. The frustrating part is that I know what to do, but as soon as the boss catches you once it's all over. The boss will continue to pick you up and drop you until you are dead. I am going to try this again and attempt to not destroy my DS if I fail.

Hmm I'm not liking that the bosses will only get more annoying from where I am at the moment. The armoured snake that dived in and out of the water was a bit annoying.
I don't think I'm ever going to beat Dragon Age. I keep making new characters and forgetting to play them and then want to start over. Or consult the guide. Ugh! This break! Gotta finish!
What the hell was that all about, honestly? Frederick being the final boss was an interesting twist and I could accept that but the game really had a flimsy story overall and the final area was just seemed like the developers went "Oh hey, we need to finish the game NOW, let's just interrupt the story and go to the end!"
Then I get preached at for the entirety of the credits (which was a long time) about every single issue that the dev team probably could think of.
Then Polka is reincarnated or revived? What the hell is up with that? I know they hinted at some temporal time stuff but really, did I miss a story arc or something?
And to end it, she starts a romance with Allegretto. Really? REALLY? I know they hinted at it but they never developed it. Their romance consisted of "Joke about romance, one awkward scene, Allegretto Upset that she kills herself, end".
I'm so dissapointed. With this and AC finished recently I need a game with a decent ending.
Man, what got into the level designers of Canvas Curse late in the game? They decided to take all the fun parts of earlier levels and replace them with SPIKES.
