A spell casting tank is one of the few things this game is missing. Would be neat to have Boomkins tank! They would most def. need 100% uninterpretable from taking damage though. And a huge HP buff. And another class of gear.
actually...apparently there is a thread on it on the official forums that doesn't seem too stupid. (aside from the retards jumping in going OH NOES OLOL MOONKIN NO CAN TANK!)
So many issues to get over though. Would it require giving every single boss a ranged attack? It would be harder for them to pull back due to 130% needed to pass. They would definitely need a high threat ranged attack. Agility Spellpower gear?

Spam Wrath until Eclipse procs... then Spam Starfire until the other Eclipse procs. Keep alternating like that while putting up Insect Swarm/Moonfire. There's a bunch more to it, but that's the basic rotation.

It was no sillier than having a Rogue tank Shihraz or a SPriest tank Black Morass...
Can we put a sticky rule on the this thread that shit doesn't really count if you're "vastly outgeared"?
I'm sure a warrior could provide range DPS, if he vastly outgears an instance.

I really should be soloing ZG every 3 or so days for rep + golds. I wonder if I can do it my prot spec or if I need to go Solo build.
My brother's paladin and my rogue have farmed Zg for the turtle book{We had 5 between us} and the Mounts for the last 6 months. Sadly I have not seen the mounts drop

The raptor pet? If so, you suck. I farmed that for like 3 weeks a couple times a week and never saw it drop. I probably killed 300-400 raptors if not more.
I drain tanked it, with an Imp out. Because I didn't go in planning to tank, the tank was just really bad and couldn't hold threat over me unless I just used my wand. So I said fuck it and tanked it.

Yeah but I'm a warrior. A lack of self healing abilities make things tougher for me in a pure prot spec.
It's like, Fury all the way down to BT, skipping Enrage, and then Prot as far as you can go.
The point is to get BT so you have a heal.
I just don't want to be respeccing every 3 days, that's all. I know I can solo the bosses that way (I soloed Ony a couple of times) but the gold costs in respec / glyphs would drive me nuts.

That BT/Prot build is actually really fun, I might level in Cata that way.
There's no real point in leveling in it, it's just for soloing heroics for fun. Fury has more DPS and Bloodthirst is still more than enough healing. And Prot has jacked up survivability that you don't need any healing, not to mention Shockwave. You're better off going for one or the other, not an inferior mix of both.

Also, Bear spec is stupid easy to Solo things. I can solo pretty much all of Kara with the exception of Prince and the bloody Opera house. Once I get IC gear I am pretty confident that I can take Prince
But I'm having a blast leveling my warrior as prot. There's a quest in Dragonblight where I need to kill 10 Kobolds, so I gathered up 8 or so, killed em all, ate some food, and then killed a bunch more.
I probably got a few levels off just borean tundra rhinos and howling fjord seals with my prot warrior. Needed rhino and chilled meat for cooking dailies and that was the best way to get them that I could think of.

The gorillas in sholazar seem to be best. They don't drop any species-specific meat, they spawn in fairly tight groups, and they seem to have literally a 40-50% drop rate of chilled meat. I hit them up every time I need chilled meat for the daily and take about 5 minutes to get a full stack.
It's trying to make me patch, but for some reason the patch won't download. Is there a place I can manually install it, and if so, how do I go about applying it?

Seems like 3.3 is almost ready to go. The PTR's latest build was pretty sparse. I think balance changes are pretty much set and all that is left is more ICC testing and even that will demand maybe another 2-4 weeks depending on how much they test hard modes. This will likely be like Yogg and we won't see Arthas available for testing, which speeds things up.
We very well could see 3.3 before November ends, which would mean Cataclysm beta after the holidays. Damn if things are not moving FAST.

Logged in an hour and a half ago and this "patch" wasn't there. Now I go to log in and I'm getting a slow download. Nice convenient timing to drop this in the middle of the evening .

I am having the same issue and I am an admin on my system.
It tries to start the download, but sits at zero percent. Then I get the same message to log out to install, but it fails. Awesome way to make make patch day start sooner and probably last just as long. Oh well.

Pretty sure that bandages are only limited by the "caster's" level or rather his first aid skill.

And you try to hit 540 defense on the button, so a mix of tank/dps gear.
