Now I'm a WW2 buff.

This game is a homage to everything good. We got Diablo, WoW, Fallout 3 (a little), Invader Zim, Mass Effect and now Morrowind. There's a tonne of other things I recall seeing similarities to but I forget.

Yeah, that shit has saved my ass more than a couple of times.
Me and my roommate, playing split screen, got those grenades at like level 15 or something.
But then again, after a day of playing the game we were WAY overleveled and have yet to find any quests higher than "Normal" difficulty in like 10 hours of gameplay. The game level doesn't scale enough for 2 player split screen.
Transfusion Nade Mod. You get it fairly early, but it does level up. The one I have (it's only equipped for major fights against Badass mobs) does 50 damage and is considered a purple mod.
It's lonely on my lvl 23 Siren; if anyone wants to play New Haven, add ANDSv2.

I have much stronger nade mods, but I hardly ever throw nades as it is and I don't want to dick around using healing items, so my nades are my healing (other than my character mod and my Panacea shield)

Sadly no, but then again I hardly ever have one on me and its quick to hit the inventory up and use one.

Arrrg, crap. Street-broken sales of the PC version seem to indicate that it comes packed-in with SecuROM DRM. Damn it all! I wanted to play this game, and SecuROM hates my computer. Hopefully the Steam version won't have it, but given 2KGames' track record with BioShock, I suppose it's very likely it'll be in there on top of Steam.

Not always really, damage is king. I mean if its like 5 or so sure, but massive discrepencys aren't made up with by elemental damage.
It also depends on how often it goes off. I tried using my 258 damage Patton revolver instead of the exploding one I had been running with, but even doing 150+ more base damage it just couldn't keep up with the x3 explosions. If you're consistently critting (headshots on humans, other locations on animals) burst elemental damage is a pretty good deal. Ongoing damage varies in usefulness by how slowly you want to go. For example, I've still got the level 2 explosion artifact equipped on my Brick because the level 3 fire one I have just takes too damn long to be effective. If I'm in combat more than a few seconds with any given enemy, I'm probably boned.

I will say this much. I was pretty hyped for the game for a couple years and now that I have the game I am completely and totally satisfied. Borderlands has not only meet my crazed expectations, but has blown them away.

See, I totally removed this game from my radar due to the high hype. Just looked...OMG FALLOUT3+BETTER+DIABLO+BETTER!, and I didn't give it a chance. I'm kinda happy I didn't, because the excitement now that it's released and actually sounds awesome, has me quite psyched.

Humans, skags, spiderants, rakks, umm those exploding bug guys, and the guys in Old Haven. And, for example, in the human catagory you have bruisers, punishers, those midgets, and physco's, so probably like 60 different types not including bosses
Probably around 10 or so different types, I mean I've seen skags, bandits, scitha whatever (bugs), worms. Each of these does have their own types though like there are 5 or 6 different varieties of scag.
