another question for you guys. worth it to spend money on a sweet weapon or just rely on the drops?
Depends on the weapon. Sometimes if you go without finding a good upgrade for awhile, its worth grabbing. Sometimes you'll buy things that won't compare to anything you might find for the next few levels. If it's just a minor upgrade though, I wouldn't buy it.

Probably around 10 or so different types, I mean I've seen skags, bandits, scitha whatever (bugs), worms. Each of these does have their own types though like there are 5 or 6 different varieties of scag.
There are several different types of each enemy too.
There are also some that come later. I don't know how much of the streams you watched, but I've definitely faced things I hadn't seen before.

So how many different kinds of enemies are there. Like, 10?
I've never really seen a lot of different enemies in the streams.
Humans, skags, spiderants, rakks, umm those exploding bug guys, and the guys in Old Haven. And, for example, in the human catagory you have bruisers, punishers, those midgets, and physco's, so probably like 60 different types not including bosses
The one thing I'll recommend people not buy is grenade mods, they are plentiful enough in the wild that I wouldn't waste your money on them.
Oh and also ammo upgrade tip, if you are wondering if the recent ammo machine has the better upgrade they actually use the same system that guns do (so white, green, blue, purple etc). I didn't notice that until I got to dahl and the machine was selling blue ammo grades.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Unless you see the Transfusion 55 damage mod. Then buy that shit!

I always have to look at the numbers to see if I've actually bought one yet. The nice thing about those ammo upgrades is that you don't have to buy the intermediate levels, you can just skip to the highest you can afford.

Saw this discussed a few pages ago, but wanted to make sure I was understanding it correctly. I'm going soldier since I usually play the support class for my buddies. I've already dumped points into maxing out Aid Station and Stockpile, but I'm seeing people mention the Soldier has mods that give more ammo regen/infinite ammo. This would be awesome to find, since I blow through ammo really fast. My turret regens it, but at full cooldown still, I'd hardly call that "infinite".
I wanted to make sure, these are the mysterious "class mods" I've yet to run into, right? I really can't wait to find some. Right now I'm planning on a turret build that keeps it's cooldown at a minimum, makes it heal and regen ammo, and drops supplies. Oh, and shoot missiles.
Anyone have some more info on the soldier class mods? Do they ONLY add additional points to talents, or do they have separate unique effects too?
Arrrg, crap. Street-broken sales of the PC version seem to indicate that it comes packed-in with SecuROM DRM. Damn it all! I wanted to play this game, and SecuROM hates my computer. Hopefully the Steam version won't have it, but given 2KGames' track record with BioShock, I suppose it's very likely it'll be in there on top of Steam.
They add extra points to talents, they can also just buff damage and resist (and they change the name of your class, right now my siren has a name of firefly because I have a fire bonus/resist class mod).
These make an appearence around level 20 in the dahl area.

And what of this infinite ammo I've seen a few Soldier say they have? Are they just talking about the Stockpile turret ability or is that a class mod item?
Sorry if it's been posted but the broken street date debacle made it to kotaku now and 2k have posted that they are 'looking into it' pretty soon after.
EDIT: I know for us internet forum types that a fixed release date is understandable (the existence of anyway) but if joe public picked up a copy of the game at the store today then he would be wondering why he can't play around about now

You can get a class mod item on Roland that either recovers your own your entire team's ammo over time.

there's also a rare infinite ammo mod. basically means just that and you never need to reload

Holy balls. Am I happy with my class choice? You bet.
I already PM'd cruciality, but if somebody has an extra Steam code at some point and has no idea who to give it to, I'd be down for it. I already have the 360 version, so I'd rather somebody who didn't own the game at all get it, though.
Not to sound like a cheapskate or anything. I just can't technically buy any more games myself due to the backlog challenge :P

I spent 18k on a triple rocket launcher that does like 300 a shot. At level 17.
I may never used another weapon again. Everybody dies. Except when my co-op teammates get in the way of one of the rockets in my salvo, in which case I die. And then I get back up because I can oneshot something for a second wind.
TL;DR: if you see a triple rocket launcher buy it and try to hide your ensuing boner from anyone else in the room.
Also I went looking up Cage the Elephant as soon as I was capable of prying my fingers from my controller. Great driving music.

Yeah, they said ahead of time it uses SecuROM.
