I hope the US Steam version unlocks in 21 minutes, although I won't be able to play tonight until the earliest. Also, I may just soldier on w/ my XBox Lvl 28 Lilith and try to complete the storyline so I can read this thread and not fear any spoilers.

Yeah, be careful though.
When scoped in on a enemy while fire/corrosive/explosive/electric effects are going on you'll see a lot of slowdown (like if you're nose to nose with the guy). On the 360 at least.

The issue isn't that, the issue is all the jerks who are going to be playing it and level 100 billion before we even get home and then won't want to co-op with us. =(

I'm guessing the whole fuckup with not enought physical copies right now was just because the game kind of flew under the rader until very close to release. They didn't see too much public interest in it, or too many pre-orders (face it, fucking everything runs on pre-orders now, its retarded) so they didn't send out enough initial copies.
Then oh shit, release week. People are screaming for the game, and well fuck. Up shit creek without a paddle until you can get more distributed. Not to mention stores like Gamestop get deliveries what, once or twice a week?

I'm playing solo and I've been one of the most vocal posters on this. It's fantastic solo, I've only played as a soldier and I've yet to start playthrough number two with the guy but I expect I'm gonna run through with each of the characters before beginning to get tired.
The class mods can pump skills higher than 5, but you have to have at least one point in the skill for it to work.
How sure are you on this? I'm pretty sure it doesn't go past 5. I had 5/5 Increase shield capacity with my Siren and when i equipped a +3, my shields didn't increase at all.
I've got 40% shield boosts from class skills and a ~800 point shield. Class mod adds a bonus to the shield booster skill.
My actual shield is over 2000.
More anecdotally: One shotgun blast to the armored face = half-dead spiderant warrior. One shotgun blast + recent kill + 9/5 skill and mod = dead spiderant warrior. I do roughly twice as much damage after a kill.

It's still really fun singleplayer. But with friends it's fucking bonkers.
I'd say it's still probably worth the purchase price, but you're not going to experience the feeling of wanting to inject it directly into your veins.
