It was funny in kroms cavern, me and desc were coming up to a ledge with two paths to it and the bandits attacked from two seperate directions it was a bit of a wtf moment. "Shit they are flanking us."
On 360 version at least I have yet to run across glitchy AI.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
there are various levels of them. I've seen 1 through 5 on my lvl 50 soldier. they might go higher. there should be an artifact of each tier for each type. they drop as loot off of mobs in the world, and i think there are specific quests you can do to get others.
on your skill select screen, you can click on the diamond icon to the left of your special, and access the different ones you have available. your special action cooldown icon should ? change to reflect the type of upgrade you have equipped.
you have to "equip" the upgrade in your inventory like backpack slots. if you already have an upgrade, you will be told you can't use the item when you try to click it in your inventory.
if the artifact has a different name, the name of your class will also change above the XP bar. For instance, I had a "support soldier" artifact, and above my xp bar I was a lvl 20 support soldier. Changed that out for a tactician artifact and above my xp bar I became a lvl 20 tactician.
You may be confusing artifacts with class mods, unless I haven't found those types of artifacts yet. The ones I find just add elemental damage to your class's action skill. Although I must say I love the support soldiers team ammo regeneration, my team never has to worry about ammo.
a slight warning about the right mouse click to toggle zoom! assigning it to the right mouse button and changing the bindings as listed will work, but it will make you unable to fire the turret weapon in a vehicle without a gunner. i tested this.
the right thumb button (mouse4) version is probably the better one to use.
You also level faster with 4 people; the enemies are made tougher with each added player to both keep the challenge up and reward you for playing coop. This also increases the chances of encountering enemies which will butt-rape the team, but hey, nut up or shut up.
they drop better stuff too, so yea. 4 players is really the way to go if you can get 4 good people together.
Played with two of my friends last night, one had the scavanger class mod on.
When we fisnished killing things the ground looked like it was a blanket of shiney diamonds.
Skagzilla dropped so much shit it took us 3 minutees just to collect the money dropped.

Anyone else tactically died to a hard enemy wave just to get the fight for your life timer to kill the guy and respawn back with shields and health? Heh, lovin this game.
Soooo many awesome guns found last night; I just want to gush about them, but realize that'd probably be boring to read. Sadly, haven't found a good replacement for my combat rifle yet. Flavor text weapons are some of the funnest ones to play with. If you ever come across a "Pele needs a sacrifice!" gun, you can have so much enjoyment out of it.
How do you guys handle different class mods? I mean, I seem to have about 5 that I switch to, depending on the situation. It's kind of a pain to eat up that much inventory space though, I'm wondering if it's really worth keeping some of them or not.
If your team never has to worry about ammo due to regeneration, does other shit drop more frequently? It would annoy me to have thousands of little white lights that I couldn't use.

Half the fun of this game is Gun braging rights. Speaking of which, anyone find an alien gun yet?

Combat rifle ammo will always drop. ALWAYS. FUCKING INQ AND THAT AMMO!

For me it's pistol ammo. Because I'm full on that and don't need it see.

yea my co-op partner grabbed on last night. its an alien sniper rifle. no stats on it or anything, just text that says "I feel like I'm going to break this thing...". it seems weird and not particularly useful, but its pretty neat to shoot laser sniper shots at things sometimes i guess.

And just how many Terrible Shotguns do I need to find in a day? I ask you this. I know it's a Fallout 3 joke. Har, Har Terrible Shotguns are just that, terrible.

I keep getting Grenade mods. I growl when it's the X100th Sticky Grenade for the day.
vendor trash man. get that money money. i usually end up with like 10 shitty grenades and 10 shitty shields at the end of a run.
Yeah I get a lot of grenade mods. Repeater pistol ammo on my hunter is used hungrily by my two guns. On my siren its a little easier as all my equipped weapons use a different round.

WHY DON'T I GET COMBAT RIFLE AMMO?
Group with INQ you'll have more combat rifle ammo then you'll ever need. Though you'd need the 360 version for this to work.

I always find a good bit of Combat Rifle ammo, but very few Combat Rifles to go with it. And the ones I do find are gahbage. Hopefully I'll have more luck in this second playthrough.
Best shotgun in the game is the alien one, called Rolling Thunder or something like that.
You shoot the fucking thing
And hear thunder.
So badass, when you're just swarmed by dudes, and you're partner is just blasting away with the thing, and all you hear is a goddamn thunder storm raging around you.

I have a yellow one thats 6 shots and regens its ammo. It's nice, but I wouldn't mind a rambo lmg to go all out with.

So for those hunters out there touting your amazing bird-damage, this makes me feel like I am missing something. I am playing a hunter and I am level 31 right now, focused the vast majority of my points into gunslinger, which I am loving. I have put a few points into my bloodwind, such that he does the additional damage when he strikes, but not much more than that. I was really hoping to get more use out of the bloodwing, but my issue is that it seems like my bird, possibly, was born with birth defects. I toss him out and if there is not an enemy like 15 feet away or less, he just flies in psychotic loops at a frantic pace. He will sometimes do this for quite a while, to the point where he does not strike anybody at all, and just ends up flying back to me. Is my game bugged? Does he have a range, because he doesnt seem to strike anything distant whatsoever, which is kind of a burn for a character who is so focused on keeping enemies at a distance. Is there some sort of better way to control him? Because I would seriously consider adding a bunch of points to the 'wing to try to have some fun with it, but even when there is an enemy like 20 feet away, the majority of the time he will just fly around him for about 10 seconds before even attacking. What gives?
There is a planned zombie expansion 10 bucks Isle of Dr Zed.
That makes a warm fuzzy in my heart. Full of bullets, and guns, and more guns.
Yeah they announced it before release. Both systems will get it. So hopefully past that they plan more. I'm guessing the little bit of sales they seem to have generated will guarentee it, but you never know.

Are you aiming and/or shooting at the enemies? Because he won't attack enemies behind you unless you are attacking them or maybe if they are attacking you. I make a habit of throwing him out and aiming right at the first enemy I want him to strike. It gets the ball rolling, and after that he pretty much messes shit up all by himself.
Anyone heard of any future DLC in terms of new classes, weapons, zones?
This game could be a major online MMO from what I've seen if they keep the style like it is and keep the enemies and loot fresh.
At least I could see myself throwing a ton of more time into this game, especially if they add more classes.
Unfortunately that's impossible with the ease of duping items and trading saves. There's no protection whatsoever, so there won't be any sort of value to endgame item hunting.

Release it 2 days prior to l4d2 and its the greatest ploy ever.
This is bullshit, I opened all the ports, there is no reason for this.

Oh god if they made Borderlands 2 an MMO with the same gameplay I would buy it so hard.
But them nickel and diming us from now until Borderlands 2 with lots of expansions would be almost the same.
And just as awesome.
