Balls, the 8mm projector doesn't rewind, hahaha
waiting for blvd. to get home from school to have him hold a spool while I spin it
I've gotta test the third 8mm projector to see if that'll work instead. The art deco one doesn't hold large spools like Metropolis is on, so I need to use a lame one.
holy christ 8mm threading methods are a goddamn chore. 16mm is like bam, done. 8mm means spending 10 minutes getting fucking notches on the film and the takeup spool threaded.
I have a Keystone from the 50s and, while being really badass, nobody develops that kind of film. Kodachrome II what what.
So unless this 8mm camera is from the 80s or so, I'd say google around to find out where you're going to process all the film before you get too gung-ho like I did.
i think those were probably in europe
but my grandfather did tour all over. maybe he plundered... (he would have plundered booze and wimminz, who am i kidding)

While reading the first page the only thing I could think of was "This is a real thread, about real things and experiences. Not some roadside blobo bullshit thread that can crop off and die."
So I was looking through reels downstairs. We have a reel copy of Psycho!
Then I found 8mm copies of Nosferatu (abridged), Metropolis (lol it's like 12 reels long), and D.W. Griffith's Intolerance.
Ah, 1929, a real year, when opium was something in everybody's pipe and women were still weak little things with tiny minds incapable of matching wit with a man of stature and position.
The other week I was going through this guy's detective fiction collection and I stumbled onto a Bulldog Drummond collection. I nabbed it like a mother fucker
anyway, scarlet street is great, but after you watch it you should really look into more Edward G Robinson films. Double Indemnity, Key Largo, and so much more.
God I wish I had The Big Heat on reel. It's not a Robinson film but it's one of my favorite noirs.
we've got a poster of this in the basement. fitting that i use it now to update what movie we watch on 16mm!
That's right. Casablanca! Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman together! Not uncommon, but let's be honest, they were a fucking team to be reckoned with when they were together. Bogey was my favorite actor as a child, and I've watched almost every single film he's been in.
In his later movies you can tell he's going downhill. I could barely watch Beat the Devil (even though it's three years earlier than his last film), because he really looks like a sick skeleton. I experienced this with my dad, sure, but movie idols are different.

except I can't.

Also Hunchback of Notre Dame!
I watched this movie over the summer. it was awesome.
fffffffffffffffffffffff
I'm tempted to learn to use it when I have the time.
I made a TD for iphone and windows phone!

I really want to buy a nice projector at some point and start a movie club kinda thing.

More cinematic candy plx
Edit: Daaayyyuuuum
On that note, I hope there's a decent recorder program because every time i do it straight to Youtube or whatever the audio is late.

I hate that modern civilization has basically said fuck off to the films and literature that made it what it is.
It's been a while.
I'd want to be your student.

pretty good stuff
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.

My mom was once my father's student. And he coached her in fencing.
Then she graduated from college and they got married.
It is written.
I'm doomed.
