The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
So a friend of mine recently declared his days of playing Magic: The Gathering were done. In a fit of madness he gave them all to me! After failing to convince him to keep them, I reluctantly accepted (score!)
After looking around some, I'm not really finding a program that I could enter what cards I have and then using that database play around with assembling decks.
Could someone point me to something? I'd optimally like something that I can sort my collection (color, casting cost, creature type, spell type ect) and that would run off a usb stick (to kill time at work.)
And free.
Magic Workstation does this, but you'll probably need to download the expansion card sets and card images (if you want them) and import them all. Tedious work, but the end result you're looking for I believe.
I'll vouch for Magic Workstation. Getting up through about the last couple sets of cards to add to the base game should be relatively painless; card art might be more work. Unfortunately, they seem to have a free and pay version, which they didn't last time I used it.
