Hope: Tonight we just burn through 10 ToGC get more mounts and cloaks and call it a night, really dont want to try for The Traitor King tonight.
but...: I would be up for another attempt for Earth, Wind, and Fire (10). We be first on server (i think). We were so close last time.... sooo close....
Did a ToC10 "PuG"* last night, on a whim. Went well.
Your server must be something special. Llane is full of downies.
I tried myself, on a whim, ToGC10 on my rogue since I missed mine for the week. It was a pretty heavy caster group except a DK and pally/pally tanks.
They voiced their displeasure since my rogues mostly in 232. Ended up doing 5k~ dps on beasts, so was kinda happy. We didn't make it past worms though.
3 of the decked out casters in 245 gear were well under necessary levels... probably floating around 3k~
So we gave it 10 or so attempts and I left after, thanking them for "carrying me" after whining for awhile at the beginning.
Hope: 3.3 comes soon, because there is shit all to do anymore. I've killed heroic Anub on 25s, gotten my proto drakes, and comfortably retired from the hardcore raid scene. And there's just nothing to do, aside from some dailies. Dragon Age has been filling the gap conveniently, but I'm paying an awful lot a month to not be logging in.
Hate: Current Server
Hate: Every server is probably the same.
Can't pug toc 10 / 25, ony 10 / 25 or friggin' voa on any of my legion of alts without spending 30 mins waiting for paladins to sort their shit out or wiping on the first pull or people standing around like lemons with the worm debuffs wiping everyone. You could spend all day jumping from fail raid to fail raid and get nothing. Had to do Onyxia 25 five times in two days to get last badge for t9 4pc.
All but three of the decent 25 man raiding guilds have split or (partially) transferred leaving this crap hole behind.
Hate: People not turning up to raids when they signed *regularly*. We cut down to 1 day a week due to numbers but still can't always raid. It's a small 10 man guild and our server is full of tools so recruitment has been slow to non-existent. Thing is the ones who turn up obviously do want to raid so they're becoming more frustrated every week.
Happy: Christmas time! Logitech G35 headset, Razer Naga mouse for presents~ Goes good with the new Desktop and monitor I just bought from Newegg today.
Hey, when you've had some time with that mouse could you post your thoughts on it? Been looking at it for a while now.
Sure. It's really ergonomic, although switching from a Microsoft or Logitech mouse, a Razer mouse always seems "flat." There are grooves for your index and middle finger. It comes with a little program to help you bind the buttons, and then you're pretty much good to go.
Mine goes like this:
1 - Feral Charge
2 - Mangle/Maul macro
3 - Lacerate/Maul macro
4 - Swipe/Maul macro
5 - Growl
6 - Demo Roar
7 - FFF
8 - AoE taunt
9 - Barkskin/Heart of Iron
10 - Last Stand/Frenzied Regen
11 - Innervate macro
12 - Rebirth macro
13/14 (These are the two above the 12 button grid) are my Vent PTT and my Vent private binds buttons.
The biggest issue with it I have is: what the hell do I do with my left hand now?
Can you comment on it in pvp, or in any hectic type of play really? I'd like to get this as an xmas gift too, but I'm hesitant. I'm curious if hitting all those buttons makes the mouse move at all (if that even matters).
Happy: Leveling a DK on my brothers server. Well... not leveling my character so much as leveling herb/skinning.
Happy: Almost at 1k gold in a couple days just leveling those two professions. Now to try and remember which things sold for the most and fastest.
Hate: Waiting for my brother and his friends to get to 58. 55-58 seems like it's taking them forever. But I guess it's forgivable considering it's their first characters ever.
Hate: NOT ONE of them listened to me when I said stay on top of their their professions while leveling. Now they don't have cooking/fishing/first aid, and my brothers gathering skills are all sub-100. Meanwhile mine are already maxed. (as in 300, not 450)
PS- He's on Detheroc, hordeside, if any of you play on there.
In my experience, cooking and fishing are mostly ignorable. First aid is useful, but can be rectified (they'll kick themselves if they were vendoring cloth though). Having a pair of gathering skills can help making levelling alts extremely lucrative indeed.

The Turkinator my brother claims it hard
I showed him on my new level 23 mage it was really easy. he then retorts that it would be hard for a paladin
I then used my blood elf protection paladin and did it
He just doesn't get it avoid everyone and do it during the off hours to avoid people the spiders near Scarlet Monastery make it really easy with that loop
By my happy is this holiday other than that achievement is really easy not as easy as the noble one but still easy
Yeah, I mean, I can understand having trouble finding birds if other people are doing it, but I went and got it on my mage (twice over) while I was farming turkey the other day to finishing my cheap cooking training.

I love it when we're getting ready to do the Twins and I'm doing the Lock Hax White Buff and Hellfire. As soon as I start to hellfire, I get heals. Even though the white buff is absorbing the damage. I don't know if Grid/Healbot announces "A Lock is Hellfireing! Heal!" but it always happens.
I can understand healer frustration with lifetap sometimes, but fel armor regenerates a lot of hp - if I tap once and we aren't going to be fighting anything for the next 15 seconds, you really don't need to do anything
Being able to lower my hp at will is actually kind of useful in our 25 man normal ToC - we have several pug healers who have a hard time figuring out the right amount of healing. Not used to having to yell at people to stop frigging healing so much. :P

there's this thing called "hard modes"
people can do them
Sure.
3.3 round the corner, and you want to motivate folks with hard modes?
Hate: Think I have to quit my guild. The double standards of the officers are becoming too much. They just kicked some people who left raid an hour early to go get their ulduar drakes with another guild. They threatened anyone else that even asks with gkicks as well. One officer has a work schedule that only lets him raid 1 out of every 3 weeks. Two others are college students; one picked up a full suit of T8 gear in Ulduar for minimum DKP bids once we had it on farm, then took a 4 month break for school, then returned when we had TOGC on farm to dump all of his DKP on gear and will now not be back until March. The other college student regularly skips raid to go drinking. Another took two months off to go to vegas and party. The GM works out of country and plays once a month, if at that. There is only one officer who raids regularly, he is also in charge of DKP and recruitment (all the important stuff). I joined 6 months ago and have passed every member of the guild in lifetime attendance/DKP except for the last mentioned officer. I can't stand losing ilvl 258 tanking items to a guy who was drinking beers while we learned this content and will now be drinking beers for 4 more months while those items rot on his account. It seems hypocritical as fuck to not show up to raids for an entire week because "out drinking lol" but to gkick people who leave an hour early to go on a drake run, that they have to pay for out of pocket, because said officers refused to do anymore ulduar meta's once they got theirs done.
3.3 round the corner, and you want to motivate folks with hard modes?
hah yeah i'm sure sitting around waiting for a month is gonna keep people really interested right
oh wait that's the whole problem, innit
Yes it is...
We can't get folks to raid cause they have seen it all...so how the fuck can we motivate em to do hardmode on bosses we have seen 20 times for marginal upgrades with a harsh difficulty leap when all they have to do is wait a few weeks for fresh content?
Also I dislike your tone, but you know that.
(And I doubt it will be a month, 2 weeks at most.)
Well, they promised to warn us a month in advance now of removing drake achievements, so either it's still a month away or they aren't removing the ulduar drakes.

Here's an idea, and I realize this may be difficult for you to process, but some people actually raid for the challenge, not for the "oh hey been there, done that". I realize that a wipefest isn't exactly fun, but the satisfaction of downing a boss on a hardmode is the same satisfaction you get from downing a regular boss the first time. It's the natural step up from having normal, boring content on farm. If you have people that are capable of it (and I know you do, so don't bother trying to deny it), you just gotta man up and give it a few tries. Wiping twice and saying "OH MAN THIS IS SO HARD WE CAN'T DO THIS OKAY SEE YOU SATURDAY FOR NORMAL ULDUAR GUYS" is just bad.
Also, in 232 gear, Ulduar hardmodes are a faceroll, and I don't see you guys with any Rusted Protos. Can't have your cake and eat it too; if you want a casual guild, prepare to be bored between patches, but don't come crying about how "omg there's no content QQ", because that's exactly what you're doing.

if you come crying about lack of content you need to shut the fuck up, or do hard modes.
Hard modes ARE different enough to be considered new content. If you don't want to do hard modes because they are too hard, then your players aren't actually raiding because they want to raid...they are raiding because its the way to get gear. And even then, the hard mode gear should motivate them.
The hard modes are there to be done. If you don't want to do them, fine, but don't come bitching about a lack of content.
