Okay, I hate the character creator even more. I didn't notice this until now, but when I went to the look at my main character (male Human Noble, Warrior) in the Modify screen, I noticed it altered him on ever so slightly. I can make a new character, edit this one back to normal, whatever, but with his configuration the damn thing keeps altering him when I go to the Modify screen. It makes his cheeks thin and his face longer. I've had this happen with a lot of other characters, too.
I hope this is just an old build and the full game doesn't do this.

I wouldn't recommend it. Broken street dates are usually pretty localized and get cut off fairly fast.

But seriously, other than steam, most places don't charge until it actually ships. So sure, go look, but on the likely result where you don't find a leaked copy, you still have your order waiting for you on release day

The Arcane Warrior will probably be my first specialization choice but I'm also leaning towards the Bloodmage as well.

I don't know, an Arcane Warrior/Bloodmage combo seems like a nice fit but I doubt it would really take off until the endgame. Besides, the Bloodmage seems like the best way to recreate my old Warlock character from WoW. Guess I've always been a sucker for the debuff/nuker kind of characters.

God fucking damnit. Apparently, the German standard version of Dragon Age is faulty and had to be recalled, delaying the game for a few more weeks here.

You - seem to have a better grasp of english than most Americans - why not just grab it from Steam (unless you're speaking of the console version).
And the game has been hijacked and tossed on the net, so live streams should be popping up in a matter of time for anyone so inclined to get spoiled.

You could also order from UK online stores - that's where I usually get my stuff from. Much cheaper then buying things in the local shops, but delivery usually takes 1-2 weeks.

Yeah, I was planning to play it on English anyway, as I do with most of the games I buy. (although the German dub is supposed to be pretty decent)
I love not knowing what spells are in the game and how I'm going to specialize my characters.. my virgin playthrough is going to be full of wonder and excitement. Just like my first sexual experience.

Is it just me or is Bioware's social site tremendously fucked? I can't log in anymore. I try to log in with my EA account and it just gives me shit about needing to fill in additional fields in some sort of Profile Setup but there's seriously nothing on the screen I haven't filled out.
Yet it continues to refuse to let me progress. I'm especially irritated since I'm pretty sure I set up all this a while ago.
So now that we know there will be a preload, I have a question!
I'm going away for the week of Dragon Ages release (boo ) but I've bought it on steam. Do you know if there is a way to make steam automatically download it as soon as the game is released. I don't want to have to wait a week, and then wait another day while the darn thing downloads before I can play! I'd like to just leave steam open, and have it download while I'm out of town.
So, I just found out that Release Date shipping on Amazon.com is something like four dollars cheaper than One-Day shipping.
Awesome.
It's too bad they don't let you change it to release date shipping if you have an existing order. It's not an available option. I have to cancel it and pre-order an entirely new copy to get that option. Since my order is for the collector's edition and those are all sold out, I don't want to do that.
I guess I'll just have to wait a day or two longer. It says my estimated delivery date is the 5th, which I hope is incorrect.

Can you specialise your mage to be like a warrior mage? Able with a sword, armour etc while also able to hit enemies with fiery bolts of fire?
