I was playing guitar for around half an hour without really stretching my fingers, and now my index finger feels sort of tingly. It's not totaly numb, but it's really strange, like pins and needles.

It's been around an hour and a half and it's still tingly, i'm not sure what to do.

Is it possible that I hit a nerve or something, i'm sure it will bounce back but i'm just intereated as to what happened.

I think that's the same feeling you get with hyperventilation, though in that case it isn't localized; IIRC it's basically caused by lack of oxygen?

Rest it for a day. If it gets worse, see a doctor.

You more than likely pinched a nerve. It generally takes a week or so to return to normal.

If it starts to hurt or get worse, go see a doctor immediately.
