Just a bit of a heads-up...those of you who are hating on the Veyron will most assuredly want to hang onto them once my super top secret livery project goes up. And no, you probably won't be able to fetch a decent price for it anywhere, seeing as everyone gets it free at level 30.
I feel kinda ripped off by the market then. My own fault I'm sure, not thinking this through and not reading spoilers to figure out which cars are obtained where. But back when I bought that auction-house Veyron for 500,000 that was the first one I had seen you could easily get for half a million or less. I was getting outbidded constantly.
What was actually happening, probably, was that the game was so new that very few people had reached that level, so the Veyron was extremely difficult to obtain. Now it's been a week and that driver level is more common, so these cars are a dime a dozen. My purchase has devalued.
I blame myself first, and the game's failure to present market information second. X__X

Well I don't expect it to perform like a Veyron but I do expect it to respond when I turn the wheel. The car is acting like it is totally disconnected from the steering. I think I am just going to set it up as a drift car because that appears to be the only way to get it around the track.
Just watched an episode of Top Gear where VW made a GTI with a v12 in it, 625HP. the thing was powerful as all hell but it wouldnt turn at all. Its just not designed for high horsepower. They said the wheelbase was just too short and narrow, and that was after VW modified it all to hell and back. I imagine your golf is in the same boat.
Actually, that's a bit of a different problem. The Golf is RWD. The Veyron is AWD.
So the golf is basically massively oversteering. I'm not quite sure what's going on with cakmikz's car, but he seems to be indicating it's massive understeer he's encountering?

It's a rabbit, and naturally FWD but I did a drivetrain swap and its AWD. After a hell of a lut of tuning I actually have something fairly drivable....but still pretty crap for its PI.
I have been toying around with some basic vinyl groups, and I have been putting my (very basic still) projects up on my storefront, and a few have sold (1000$ each)
but I havent gotten the achievement (Entrepreneur - Sell a Tuning Setup, Design or Vinyl Group from your storefront)
There was an option to collect credits, pressed that, but still no achievement, anyone else experiencing this ?

Yeah, I was just about to say that. Exactly how the hell are we supposed to use our saved movies? You can't watch them on ForzaMotorsport.net, and you can't upload .wmv's to YouTube. I guess they expect us all to have software that can convert from wmv to mpeg.
As for me, I experienced a rather interesting glitch today with the AI, at first they all seemed to be trapped behind a 'stalled' car for about a minute, but then, the cars started to merge...
I have the replay up in my storefront, but I forgot to put a penarc tag on it to make it easy for you all to find... I wish there was an easier way to jump right to a particular person's storefront easier.

Funniest thing happened tonight. I was cruising around Laguna Seca when I saw the strangest thing...it was a Bugatti Veyron with a very unique looking livery...of course I had to get it on video.
Honestly, it's not 100% done, but I've put so much work (~2500 layers) and so many hours into this thing (over 24 total) that I felt like it was time to share my labor of love with you guys. I haven't put it on the storefront yet, and I don't really expect it to sell like hotcakes, as it were...but I hope some of you can appreciate it at least half as much as I do.
Is the first post a paid ad? Would it be bad to spread around that not everything in the game is perfect, could be better if patched to be more like Forza 2, and more people should poke Turn 10 with cattle prods to get awesome multiplayer to go on top of what is right now only the best single player racing sim ever?

I don't think I was paid. Except maybe with the warmth and graciousness of the lovely members of the Penny Arcade forum. But you're right, I wish there was more multiplayer options, especially considering that was something they were marketing as being one of the most open and freeform multiplayer components of any racing game. It definitely feels like they took a step backward in actually providing players with the opportunity to create and explore their own games.

That's the free Windows Media Encoder from Microsoft.
When you start it up, the New Session box pops up by default. Click "Convert a file", then OK. Select your input file (the .wmv you downloaded from forzamotorsport.net) and change the default output file if you wish - it defaults to the input file with "-1" tacked on the end of the filename. Hit Next. Make sure the option on the next screen is set to "File download (computer playback)". Hit Next again, then Finish. The output file will work with YouTube.
I recommend getting the 360 to output a 360p file rather than 720p, just to reduce the lengthy encoding time and ultimately the filesize. Since it's being encoded again and then being crunched by YouTube, there's little point shooting for the stars with HD video. Also remember forzamotorsport.net will remove your movie after 24 hours, so upload it and grab it.
Note: at the standard settings the Encoder will output a 720p file regardless of the input resolution. Don't worry, it's actually not very big filesize-wise. This saves messing with the aspect ratio, as it will then output a 16:9 file. If you drop the Encoder to 480p it'll spit out a squashed 4:3 file. Really, the Encoder can basically be left on its default settings and it'll work.

Load it again in the editor, then hit A to bring up the menu. There should be an option to ungroup the layers (that may not be the exact name, but the function is definitely there).
Also, everyone needs to go get the Tron design for the Reventon. So awesome.
Was just at a friend's place, who has the VIP version, and I see the Turn10 Community has gifted him two nicely painted and upgraded cars. I haven't been able to check my account at home yet, but is everyone getting these gifts as some sort of VIP reward?
Nah, all my stuff comes from reprolabels.com Pretty good stuff with making new stickers for older toys and doing things like this for the Alt/BT and Masterpiece items.

So my PA livery is 99% complete and will be on the storefront within the hour. Also uploaded will be the Penny Arcade and PAX logos, Fruit Fucker, and Div. I'm reluctant to upload Gabe and Tycho standalone, because I only made the top half, and the bottom edge is far from clean-cut. Photos also coming soon.
i thought i was gonna be cool, but Triple B is probably cooler....i just uploaded a PAX East logo to the storefront. my first crack at vinyl in Forza3. (but I already have plane tickets, a hotel, and passes for my wife and i, woo!)

Just looked it up. You bastard. That is impeccably well-done. Stuff's going up now, btw.
So I just had a rather enjoyable game of tag and have learned 3 things:
1) Xbox live is sooo much better when you don't have 12 year olds screaming your a fag
2) My headset sucks (or my settings are way off as I could barely hear anyone
3) I have to go offline because my eldest is in a church parade in the morning for remembrance day, but to make things a whole lot worse I told my GF I couldn't feed the baby as I was busy driving... I think it'll take some serious chocolate and housework to get out of this one :?
(our youngest who got home from hospital 2 days ago after spending his first 3 months in special care - I'd forgotten that just because I want to sleep doesn't mean he does, after all, we had nurses doing the hard work until Thursday evening)

This took me so long to finish, I don't know if I'm ever going to be motivated to make another livery.
So I just had a rather enjoyable game of tag and have learned 3 things:
1) Xbox live is sooo much better when you don't have 12 year olds screaming your a fag
2) My headset sucks (or my settings are way off as I could barely hear anyone
3) I have to go offline because my eldest is in a church parade in the morning for remembrance day, but to make things a whole lot worse I told my GF I couldn't feed the baby as I was busy driving... I think it'll take some serious chocolate and housework to get out of this one :?
(our youngest who got home from hospital 2 days ago after spending his first 3 months in special care - I'd forgotten that just because I want to sleep doesn't mean he does, after all, we had nurses doing the hard work until Thursday evening)

Sorry, missed that. Somehow, with you repeating "it's not a Veyron..." in every post, I got it stuck in my head you were talking about the Veyron.
Anyways, the point stands -- the W12 Golf is a RWD, hence the oversteer. You're still in a completely different situation.
