So, just watching the Rolex 24 preshow, and they really need to raid this for some cars. From the Daytona Prototypes (which would probably clock in around R2 and would be a cool variation on the R1 prototypes, being a bit slower and easier to drive), to all the interesting GT class cars there. Racing versions of the Mazda RX-8, Camaro, GTO, and the non-production GXP.R, all would be really cool additions that aren't currently represented in the game.
I would LOVE that car pack. I really dig the GT class cars racing in there yesterday/today.
I'm plugging here, but I did a very detailed paintjob of the #70 SpeedSource Mazda RX-8. Yeah, the one that won GT class yesterday. Search for "penarc". Or "Speedsource", I guess.
The paintjob is based on the 2008 livery, which was the last time it won GT class at 24 Daytona, but the only difference between that look and yesterday's is a few of the decals. Maybe I should update it now that they won again.

I think I actually have that on my RX-8 right now.
So, anyone who hasn't bought a wheel for this I highly recommend it. Got one a while ago, it honestly took me probably a month of casual playing to get where I was as good with it as a controller (and I basically had to restart career mode to do it). Right now, though, I'm just starting to break into the S class and R3 stuff and it's awesome. The cars are so unique and it really comes across in the wheel and pedal setup in a way that it just doesn't with a controller.
I had to post a picture of my new dual Fanatec wheel setup before I go off to class!
I hate you[/jealous]
Also, why do you have 3 xboxes? :?
Looks like two guys are playing Forza with the Fanatec wheels and a third is playing SF4 or something off screen on a third TV (you can see the fight stick in the bottom right of the image).
Nurburgring GP track is in, due on Tuesday, 2 configurations. Unfortunately no combined track still, but good anyway. Hopefully they can keep up the pace of a track pack every 3 months.
Yes. The GP track is a completely modern track.. huge runoff areas, technical challenges, good spectator locations.. the works.
I like it because it's a pretty fast track, and has good visibility (no painful blind corners). The hairpin at the end of the start/finish straight is the hardest corner, it really screws up online races because no one knows how to take it.
Can this track be integrated into singleplayer somehow if you purchase it? I don't think it'd be worth it if it's just an online/time trials-only thing.

That's a sweet fucking setup.
Thanks guys. Yeah there are three xboxes so two people can be playing Forza together at the same time as well as two people playing Street Fighter (these are the two games we usually play at my BBQs). It is also convenient when some of my buddies come down from LA all they have to do is bring their xbox harddrives instead of their entire xboxes/screens to LAN.
Yeah, it's "only" five bucks.. that's exactly how they want us to think about it.
But they've released 5 bucks worth of DLC every month the game has been out, so if someone were to have bought all that, they've paid another $20 on top of the price of the game. Other games have you damn near doubling the cost of the new game by the time they finish publishing DLC.
I can certainly understand objecting to 5 bucks for one track with two variants.
I understand the bitching. It won't be added to the Multiplayer hoppers right now. It won't be integrated into career, there's no local leaderboards for hotlappers, and the online leaderboards are still glitched.
And if you remember in Fm2, Road America was only 100 ms points.

But yeah, it's a new track, keep things fresh.
I still would love to see a fm1 track pack.
Road America was 1 track, though, and it was an FM1 conversion. If they released Blue Mountain or something, I wouldn't expect it to be more than 100 points either. I actually would probably pay 800 if they'd do a pack with all the FM1 tracks, though, and I can't imagine that it's that hard to convert them (though its impossible to really know how much the engine has changed over 2 games.
If it's not in the multiplayer hoppers and it's not in career, then what is the goddamn point? It might as well not exist.
I spend quite a lot of my Forza time in Free Play mode lately, as I tend to just play for short amounts of time. I guess this and private multiplayer are the two uses for a new track. It's not ideal, but I'll probably still grab it when it's released.

You know you can set up a custom race in a private multiplayer lobby that is essentially identical to a career race, including monetary reward, with the only caveat being no rewind or pause? And you can put whatever rules you want, use the dlc tracks, choose your opponents, etc?
I'd be surprised if they didn't do a multiplayer hopper for dlc tracks. This, the benchmark road course (the big E configuration one), a couple of sidewinder variants, probably a few normal courses. Knowning turn 10, though, it'll likely be open, meaning pretty much R1 only.
So, a little off-topic, but can anyone recommend a good PC/PS3 compatible racing wheel with approximately the same feature set as the MS Wheel? (edit: And similarly priced, could go up to maybe 150 bucks but I don't have G27 money to spend on this)
I got the G25 months ago for only $250 new. Wouldn't be surprised if you could find it cheap used.
It even has an extra sequential mode the G27 doesn't have. Certainly worth the money, but might be pressing your price range a bit to much.

I'm still super pissed that I cant import my Forza 2 paintjobs into 3 since its the same goddamn editor.
I recreated some paintjobs from the original Gran Turismo

Simple, yet aesthetically pleasing.
I love the Fairlady, btw. Always have.

It stopped pissing me off a long time ago. Mostly because I stopped buying shit just because it was announced. I only buy the stuff I actually want.
You mostly only want it if you do online racing frequently.

Also, I'm supremely jealous. Awesome setup and awesome art.
If they integrate it with career mode it seems worth it. If it's multiplayer/hotlap only like FM2's track DLC was, I'm not buying it.
2 tracks (even if they are really the same track) represents a shit ton more development work than 10 cars. I can't begrudge them 5 bucks for it.
totaly agreed.
I mean, the effort required to take the FM2 Laguna Seca and put it in FM3 was much less. An all new track is a pretty big deal.
I can understand 400 points being high.. but considering I have yet to buy any of the car packs, it's cheap to me.
I can't understand 400 points being high. That's less than the price of a decent mixed drink, or a combo meal at a fast food place.
Race Pro had packs with 2 tracks and a few cars that were 800 points a piece.

the photos make mine look like a lot lighter blue but in-game its pretty close

And fuck yeah I'd pay 800 points for Blue Mtns or Alpine Ring!
I guess we'll see when they release it.

HMMMMMMMM
But it's way more than $150.. so you're screwed there. Basically if you want that kind of flexibility, you're gonna be paying out big bucks.
Well I already have an xbox 360 wheel, I don't really need another one.
