So 3-shot scoped combat rifles are pretty rad. I mean they're not as sexy as crazy triple helix corrosive rocket launchers or what-have-you... but they get the job done.

Spoiling because this could be considered kinda cheating as far as SP goes. Not sure what effect this has in MP.
Go to WillowGame.ini
Look for the "DefaultGravityZ=-500" line
-100 is Superman-level jumping
-450 is a little boost to make jumping areas a little easier
-750 is a more realistic and less 'floaty' jump than the default

So this game is pretty damned fun, but there's just a bunch of stupid nigglings that prevent it from achieving real greatness, and a lot of them are technical. Like, for example, how quests are handled in multiplayer. Why does the network host have to be the one the quests are determined for? Is there any reason they couldn't have a way to select a group party leader or something? Instead, you have get out the game, have the guy host, and then fail to connect because he has to open a bunch of ports. Yeah, p2p for life.
And a special PC-specific grievance goes towards the very chunky interface, especially the inventory screen. OK for a controller, I guess, but my god is it annoying with a mouse. Is there a reason why jumping and targetting has to be the same button besides the fact that's how it works on the controller? The whole thing feels very console-specific, and after playing a great multiplatform title like Batman, it feels incredibly sloppy.
The actual game though is fucking fun as hell -- I don't mind the 34 bucks for it.

I hate it when people say the interface is a PC-specific probelm. It is a terrible goddamn UI no matter what you're using to control it. Just because it's difficult on the PC doesn't mean it's easy on the 360. Every time I've introduced a friend to the game, it's taken upwards of 5 or 6 hours before they actually really know how to do tasks that should really be pretty simple.
It's like they never brought in anyone from outside the development team for play-testing.

This game should have a graveyard where you can bury old guns instead of selling them. Each headstone should have an image of the weapon and its stats and have little room for text for a mournful saying.
I just had to put down an electric revolver I've had since the mid-teens. It's like I failed it instead of it not keeping up with the enemies. It was all brightly colored and decked out and whenever you shot it all you heard was "whajuuudg" and crackling electricity. It even had 4+ zoom.
Then I found a plain-looking 3-shooter which did 380 damage per shot. I know the relationship won't last, but c'mon, 380 damage per shot. A gun like that doesn't shoot bullets, it shoots death potatoes. Even if a shot to the gut doesn't kill you, it'll be like getting the wind knocked out of you with a steel I-beam fired from a cannon.
I just took down Mothrakk solo, my first time killing him, for 32 dollars and 36 combat rifle bullets.
F Mothrakk. I did the game solo for both playthroughs, and it wasn't hard at all.
But damn, that fight was just stupid. I tried to stand there and shoot at him, but it's tough to shoot the guy who circles above you at that high of an altitude. Both times I just resorted to hopping in a machine gun vehicle, clumsily trying to lock-on to him, and then drive in a circle spamming the turret.
Just beat it tonight with two PA people..wow, you guys weren't kidding when you said the ending was terribad
How long does it take the second playthrough to ramp up difficulty wise? We just did the first 2 or 3 quests but were running through one shotting everything
2nd playthrough gets tough pretty damn quick. I thought the same thing until I started encountering some tougher bandits and skags.
Worst thing about 2nd playthrough by far is the neverending Skag nests. Oi.
The 2nd play through wasn't really too tough when I was going through. As long as you keep your character leveled up for the quests you're on, all the new talents you're getting (assuming you got your 5th tier talent right away) from a second tree help immensely.
So hey, playing a Rocket Brick is actually pretty fun, despite my earlier misgivings. The fact that one of the mods on launcher skill is damage seems like it'll help a ton at higher levels, especially coupled with the fact that you could potentially have +105% damage from skills under the right circumstances.

I dunno. Me and Sotar had some epic skag fights the other night in a 4-man game. We'd get 5 or 6 Badmutha skags of various types over the course of the fight and it really kept us on our toes.
The neverending spiderant fights are the real pain in the ass. Seriously, fuck spiderants. Especially the corrosive ones that have like ten times the normal amount of hit points.
On the plus side I got to watch a melee Mordecai dish out 30k+ hits. As fun as a bird build looks, that's the sort of insanity I heartily endorse.
I just found an absurdly powerful SMG and now there's no reason to use any of my other guns...
It kind of sucks.
Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I have only seen one epic AR so far. I'm level 32. Sure I have a sniper that does 341 damage per shot, a revolver that does 283, and Erudian lighting shotgun that does 99x7, but I'll be damned if I get a decent assault rifle...

The multiplayer problem is very much because of the console versions. On the 360 you can jump into a friend's game at the drop of a hat and pop back to your own game just as easily, with virtual no interruptions. This is why the host determines what quests the party is on. Sadly this just doesn't work with PCs it seems.

Send that idea to Gearbox. You realize we're getting DLC for this, right? Well, give them ideas :P
Compared to the weapons you guys are finding, my arsenal seems so... boring. I've only seen like 3-4 flavor text items and those were static drop boss items. I'm level 25 and while I rip things to shreds with the guns I do have, they're all pretty bland.

Just got to keep looking. Perhaps there's more hidden away, but I figure the game could have used a few rare really out-there weapon mods, such as firing explosive coconuts or guns that shoot loopy bullets...or a revolver with the most insane stats ever but all it shoots is a BANG! flag.
I found an orange (light-orange? Yellow??) revolver that had +15 ammo regeneration! Too bad it was nowhere near as effective or powerful as my incendiary one.
I really hate Jacobs for tempting me with their high-powered weapons. A sniper rifle with 711 damage but with 0.3 fire rate. The 2.4 fire rate on my current one is just so nice.
