Toronto, the True North Stronger Free-er Harder Better - Tonight!

oh my god Toronto thread

toronto.jpg
Toronto (pronounced /təˈrɒntoʊ/, colloquially /ˈtrɒnoʊ/ or /təˈrɒnoʊ/) is the most populous city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. With over 2.5 million residents, it is the fifth most populous municipality in North America. Toronto is at the heart of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and is part of a densely populated region in Southern Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe, which is home to 8.1 million residents and has approximately 25% of Canada's population.[3][4][5] The census metropolitan area (CMA) had a population of 5,113,149,[1] and the Greater Toronto Area had a population of 5,555,912 in the 2006 Census.[4]

Toronto is the best city since it has sexy America-style gun crime but with the high taxes and extreme cold temperatures that really makes you feel Canadian. It is so much better than that Worst Coast suck hole Vancouver or that other Seattle place.

Do any Toronto peeps feel like getting together on or around Sunday, November 8th? It is going to be our very own Dread Pirate Cassandra's birthday, and we are looking to have a small get-together with some of our best internet buddies. So far this includes:

Rolo
Cass (you may know her as Dread Pirate Arbuthnot)
Rear Admiral Choco (you may know him as Cass' boyfriend)

And potentially some people who I know live in or around Toronto:

Pony
Killjoy
Redeemer
Gamegrrl
Marcus
And maybe more! Maybe you! Come say hi to your fellow Toronto forumers, we would love to meet you!

So far plans plans have been floated for a trip to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. It is pretty awesome:
339_4.jpg

And then maybe an... activity... of some sort... later? Ideas?

Anyway let's talk about getting together Toronto and Ontario forumers. We will have awesome times real soon!

where doing it man where making this hapen

Good morning, Toronto Thread! For those attending:

We are going to meet on Sunday, November 8th, at 7:00 PM

The location will be at the Eaton's Center Mall, Queen Street Entrance. This is close to a bunch of dining places, including the Old Spaghetti Factory.

here is a Google Street View map of the area:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=queen+station&sll=43.653396,-79.379386&sspn=0.00378,0.006899&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Queen&ll=43.652364,-79.379568&spn=0,359.986203&z=16&lci=transit&layer=c&cbll=43.652332,-79.379677&panoid=PLj-KR2hYxtbOiUZNqiv_A&cbp=12,307.12,,0,10.74

We'll be right inside those doors. In case you're wondering, my name is Julian and this is what I look like.

Can you guys who are attending PM me your cell phone numbers (and your actual names)? I can be reached at 905 782 7082.

Yeah, I mean, Edmonton's not a very big city comparatively speaking, and I can think of a dozen restaurants I'd rather go to than the Old Spaghetti Factory.

Basically I'm passing judgment on you guys because you're from Toronto. Ugh.

Will do! Was getting bored of my current selection.

On that note, west end Zambelli's served me the best (and cheapest) prime rib dinner I have ever had. And that is saying a lot, I used to be a professional cook.

Also, Pho Bin (I think that is the name) in the strip mall area by Stony Plain Rd. and 149th st (The one with the grocery store in it) is the best Vietnamese restaurant I have been to in the city.

Edmonton is Calgary's older burnt out brother.
I lived in Calgary my whole life and went to Edmonton for my first time ever in September for the Manson concert. It's so... flat, and open, and the streets make no sense (there's no one way signs!)
although, Whyte Ave has some really really rockin' clothing stores.

West Ed mall is huge yes. But it's in dire need of updating, and less KFC's (there's three! in one mall!)

On the other hand, I only saw like two ugly girls the whole time I was there, including being at the Manson concert.

Oh man I love how open it is. I'm a small-town kinda guy who moved to a big city that has a nice small-town vibe with many of the metropolis amenities. And yes, the girls are good. I'm a university student and the U of A has plenty of good looking girls.
