You know, the one they modeled off an airsoft gun instead of the real thing.
The fuck are you talking about? Put an underfolder on this:
And you have the 74u from the game.
I mean, yes there are some flaws in it's model, but it's not something only an airsoft gun could achieve. Plenty of people have SBR'd an AK74 (a Polish Tantal or otherwise), put a krinkov flash suppressor on it and had the same shit from Call of Duty.
All we can hope is that it's not why they did it.
EDIT: Also, from the side (in the menus) it looks like a sidefolding stock, but it has the joint of an underfolder. I don't have the game, so I can't go see what it really is. Another disclaimer is that I understand that sidefolding, non-wire stocks was the issued configuration of the AKS-74u, but what it has on it in the game is not technically impossible. Claiming they modeled it off an airsoft gun is a bit harsh.
We lived just fine with no party chat in MW1. I'm sure we can live through it in MW2.
That may be, but I intended on using it with all my co-workers who are getting MW2. I use it specifically so I don't have to listen to people who would use cross-game chat as a way to cheat online.
Newest rumor is that Scavenger lets you refill on Claymores, meaning you can have a bunch active. God I hope so.
That one fucking barrier outside of the green building/point B on district(?) right near the stairs to go down into the market. You never got caught there?
It's fucking annoying if you try running past that barrier and all of a sudden you guy just starts bouncing up and down and you have to stop running, back up, turn a centimeter to the left, then start running again.
That and the fucking car going into the B building from the bottom of the hill that lets you into the window are the only two spots I regularly get stuck.
I seem to recall the first spot your reference but that whole B area isn't part of my cycle so I don't usually go around there. I have no idea where the second spot is. I'll take you word for it.
God dammit IW, why you gotta be like this? I don't play much uncharted 2 online because of the lack of party chat and now you go and pull this fucking bullshit.
Is cheating with voice chat really such a big deal in core deathmatch and CTF, honestly? Considering you can respawn almost instantly and have a fucking camera showing you the location of the sniper who just killed you. Not to mention radar, UAVs, heartbeat sensors and god knows what else. In core modes, knowing where the other team is at any given time is probably the least of your concerns.

My god I can't fucking wait.
I like how he gets kills even when his crosshairs aren't on a target 90% of the time...
Brutle's talking about Crossfire. The car below the B building's window you can use to get into the first floor.
Yeah but it's a compilation video. He might get one no scope like that out of every 300 shots. And 50% of those no scopes are close range, which has never been too hard in MW1
I'm just saying it's not like something like that can't be built and actually fired off an AK74 receiver.
Right, I hear you, I'm just saying this is the same thing they have if you pop in a 30-round mag. The resemblance is uncanny, right down to the railed foregrip and underfolding stock.
Bonus points to whoever can tell me the song name.

You can get totally trapped in a spot in Crossfire. Ground floor of the building at the top of the hill, go in the right side entrance and jump into the corner with the chairs. I tried hiding there once only to find that I couldn't get out.

Holy shit the ACOG on the sniper rifles looks so great. I was also worried that the G18 would have the 17 or 19 round G17 magazines, but it has the fullsize 33 rounder, maybe 30 for balance. HUZZAH.
Its kind of strange to say a weapon in a game is based on a replica weapon of a real gun.
What chew know about simulation and simulacra?

And this isn't necessarily only about MW2, but does anybody find it funny that because the M9 and the MP5 are both chambered for 9mm, that they can share ammo? I can just see someone taking the ammo out of the incompatible magazine one round at a time while rounds whizz by, and placing them in their empty magazines for the other weapon.
WOOO REALISM.

I think it's worse that the same 9mm bullets do different damage depending on the weapon system that delivers the bullets.
I hope so. That is even a bit too much for me. 4v4 was always my favorite. I did have an incredibly tense round of 6v6 once on Crossfire. Normally anything above 4 or 5 to a team is kind of hectic but everyone was playing incredibly carefully. Proof that sometimes pubs can be good to play with.

Thats not odd at all. Look at all the current weapon systems that use 7.62, 5.56, etc... There is more to a weapons damage capability then just gun powder and a piece of metal.

Of course no one that uses the MP5 in MW is going to even bother with their pistol because the MP5 is a kill everything in sight weapon and their secondary weapon is the 3x frag or the 2x rpgs.

care to elaborate?
I'm looking at several different rifles which use 7.62x39mm that all have comparable muzzle velocity. . . ak47 is 715m/s, SKS and type 56 are 735m/s, RPK is 745m/s
I couldn't imagine an extra 10-20m/s making a significant difference. . .
if we're assuming the extra velocity is significant, then wouldn't a longer barrel increase the amount of friction upon the bullet, thereby slowing it down?

No. The amount of barrel on the gun increases the speed of the bullet because it allows the gas to push it for a longer period of time. Until a certain point, when yes, the friction slows it down as it decreases from the "peak" barrel velocity.
This is why hunting rifles such as the R700 and others have such long barrels. This allows the round to travel more accurately, faster, and flatter.
My uncle's .204 travels 4250 FPS, nearly 1.8 times the speed of the 5.56. It has a 26 inch barrel. 5.56's used in a "sniper" platform with long barrels have higher velocities than those with standard 16 or below inch barrels.
But in terms of gameplay, the extra 3-4 inches on the MP5 really aren't going to do a whole lot with a 9MM round. Balance, my friend; an M9 killing in 2 shots like an MP5 would make it a 15-round Deagle with no recoil.
There is (used to be in any case) a gun thread in D&D if you really want to get into that conversation about muzzle velocity on different guns, and what not.
Since it doesn't really have anything to do with CoD MW2

In any case, balance is the dictator. I'm interested to see how they're balancing Akimbo. Two G18's at point blank with stopping power is going to kill you damn near instantly. Like, shotguns. With 33 round mags.
Maybe they like those times where people use more than just SMGs and shotguns. People with LMGs and sniper rifles and the people who continue to walk in their line of fire.
Seems worth mentioning in here that LewieP, sneaky bugger that he is, has found a way to get MW2 for the PS3 or xbox for £25.

It's probably like in Halo (Blasphemer!) where you can reload one or both. Smart people would keep the second on reserve for a shitty situation, or to keep one loaded and one reloading.

They did. It's based off one of these. Just swap the mag.

Well, there's logic in that. An MP5 has a longer barrel than an M9. The longer the barrel, the more accurate and more quickly the bullet travels.

Sigh, is it next Tuesday? Such a Glock fanboy.
IIRC, they said it takes longer but from what I have seen in some leaked videos, not by much.
Well this fucking blows because on the PC version, its not going to be much better. :?
I'll never understand why people liked GIANT matches where the maps didn't even support that # of players. Just a huge cluster fuck
If not then raaaage.
cause they're fun and we play with a lot of friends?
Nope that can't be it.
