Man this games going to dominate the fps world. I used to love halo and all since the original, but damn since I played cod 4 and saw this was coming out.. MW is now the standard.

edit: meant on xbox live. Not sure about the "other" game enablers.

It'll definatly be interesting, to say the least. Although, as was discussed earlier, if you've reached a 25 kill streak it's probably a good idea to put the other team out of their misery. We'll have to try it out and see.

Quick question - if matchmaking works so well for consoles - which imo it does. Why are the pc guys so upset?

I'd be pissed about the whole "No custom content" thing myself. But let's not re-open that can of worms.

If you're genuinely asking - as in, you honestly really don't know, as I didn't know when I asked this question - check your PM inbox in a minute. It's better to just keep it out of here, though.

Yeah, this is basically just a visually-cooler form of the mercy rule.

Think about it, how many people actually reach 25 kill streaks? Excluding help from killstreak rewards since they don't contribute to a streak anymore.

Not to mention that you're using up a slot that could be used for a more reasonable to obtain killstreak in the hope that your enemies don't know what button fires bullets out of the gun.

I'm interested to know more about EMP.

    Related plot spoiler, kinda-sorta major:
Especially if it disables the electronic optics like it did in the campaign.

Ok without spoiling too much, how do people know so much about the storyline already? Like, was the entire plotline leaked? Was the game itself leaked?

I didn't check your spoiler, but I reckon it'll disable the mini-map (less useful on hardcore, then) stuff like the heartbeat sensor, maybe killstreak rewards like the AC-130 and the UAV? Depends on the range.

EMP would be pretty rad if it fucked you up major like making in-game chat broken up and static-y. Granted it wouldn't work if people were in parties but being completely in the dark would be crazy

Well I've played a shitton of Halo 3 multiplayer before with parties of 8. The in-game chat was crippled by their awkward Push-To-Talk system so the party system was a godsend because you could just talk, so I assumed the group I play with would use party chat for the 8v8 games. I would understand though if they would make party chat disabled for merc games to stop groups from organizing and boosting

They do count toward your killstreak as long as you are still alive. What they did was remove chaining killstreaks. For example, you'll no longer be able to get 7 kills for a chopper, die, and then call the chopper in to add to a new killstreak. Any kills the chopper gets during your new life don't count toward a killstreak.

Indeed. The only Halo 3 gametype I like any more is Rocket Race, and I can only play that when Enforcers are in the mood and want to switch out Rocket Race for other game types, or when they add Rocket Race back into the public match rotation. X__X

(I'm extremely proud of a small few extremely lucky cross-map rocket hits. I'm pretty good at leading folks and toppling over their vehicles.)

Personally I'm going UAV Jammer, Predator Missile, and Pavelow.

    Also about that 25 KS
People I know are worried about it being overpowered for good players, but I average 4 K/D in CoD4 and I've broken 25 Kills only 3 times in 2 years.

I don't usually have a very long lifespan, so I think I'm going to pick the lower kill count ones so I can spam a couple each time before I die. A nuke sounds awesome, but I'd be playing so cautiously trying to stay alive that I wouldn't be much help to my team.

Not sure if this is factual or not, but I've read that kill streak rewards in MW2 will add to your KS. If you can assign yourself a Pave Low and an AC-130 as your other 2 streak rewards, I could see it being much less difficult in MW2 to pull off a 25 KS. It would just be about getting those first 9 kills and then staying alive while your streaks did the work.

I've already planned my perk build for my assault class, which is the one I'll use the most.
Probably an M4A1 or ACR with Sleight of Hand, Bling and Commando.

I'll rock at least one class with the UAV Jammer equivalent and all suppressed weapons. <3

Here's the thing about that; unless you're using UAV Jammer, as long as the enemy has UAV and can see you on that UAV, they will come and kill you before you get your other 12 kills.

And I do apologize for the chain posts, but has anyone found whether or not the shotguns are as logic-defying as they are in MW1? Because considering all of those shotties in the list, if it remains as it is in MW1, very few will use them.

Probably gonna go with this even though I won't have it at the start
    M16, M4 or ACR
    Holographic Sight
    Extended Mag
    Perk 1: Bling
    Perk 2: Hardline
    Perk 3: ???

and killstreaks would be Care Package, Counter UAV and Precision Airstrike (or ambitiously EMP)

That's interesting, Burtle. I get such inconsistent shotgunning using either the W1200 or the M1014 that I just dropped using them. They're fun and hilarious when they work, and rage-inducing when they don't. I can literally shoot someone point blank with either once, and they will not die, and then from across the hall and they will. All i'm asking is for a consistent, reliable pattern of shot so my reaction time is factored in more importantly than whether or not my pellets did tit damage.

Edit: Please tell me this isn't so. There's no M1911? This is blasphemous; .44 Magnum is fine, I'll probably use an Akimbo "Dirty Harry Squared" class, but come on.
