As it turns out, Rape Street was originally known as Grape Street, back when the town was very small. The street was so-named because of the abundance of grape fields along the street. During these early days, Grape Street crossed Main Street and there was a sign posted in the central square labeled "Grape Street". However, as chance would have it, the 'G' wore out leaving the sign to say "rape Street". At this point in time, the town lacked the funding to repair the sign, so it was left in that state for quite a while. When the town's fortunes turned around by a sudden influx of new citizens, the new citizens objected to repairing the sign, saying that they were always familiar with it as "Rape Street".
So, now that town is a bustling metropolis and in down town is a street known as Rape Street, which was originally called Grape Street but became Rape Street through the vagaries of fate. Rape Street, despite its unfortunate name, is one of the most up-scale streets and amongst the safest districts in the city.

If they re-made Afro Samurai while still keeping Sam Jackson on as Afro I would not complain. Every frame of film with Sam Jackson on it is a good frame of film.
