same thing that happens to every one of our threads. a bunch of whiners got ahold of it and fell for a masterful campaign of trolling. that coupled with the lack of a real update or anything of worth to talk about has led us to this.
but on a serious note, how long do you think they will support this game for? i can see them just putting out the last 3 and calling it a day.
They supported CS for ages and then stopped, but at the same time, CS's community hates new things.
I think what we'll probably see is about two or three new official maps a year (both in-house and community), but very few patches beyond bugfixes. I find it likely that we'll see more and more visual customization, though, as hats are super-easy to make and their modellers probably do it for fun.
I'd like to see them do a paid update to the game. Not necessarily TF3, but like TF2.5 or something.
Rework the game code so HUD elements can be easily scripted, put in item trading, develop a random weapon system so that item trading is actually useful, and put in tandem attacks for all classes, similar to how the ubercharge works.

Since I've gotten a few questions, here is where I explain them all.
-We hope to have enough people for (almost) 2 full teams. That means at least 2 of every preferred class.
-This means you will only have to play every other week (hopefully, there may be some overlap)
-Matches are on Monday nights, from 6-8pm Central time, to start. They may vary an hour or two on that, give or take.
-We will be using PA Forums Vent, so a working mic is required
-We use Google groups to discuss class makeup and whatnot.
-Practice is one night a week for people playing in the next match. More people are welcome to attend. We will spend time discussing the next maps strategies, and scrim a bit. Will probably be Sunday night. Or some week night.
-If you are still interested, please PM me, either here, or on Steam. deveric is my steam nick, I'm on all of the regulars friend's lists, so I should be easily findable. I will need your email address so I can invite you to the Google Group

I mean, it's 2009, and we're still using some of the same rcon commands as Quake 1 did.
