Tycoon game recommendations?

I looked for any other threads talking about what I am looking for, but no luck. For some reason I have a horrible itch to play a carnival tycoon type game but when I went to go look for any choices there seems to be like 2-4 types and different versions of each game. Does anyone have any suggestions on which would be the best to get? I use to play some game that basically allowed you to run each stand/ride/even employees but I can't recall which series it was.

Any help on this would be greatly welcomed!

The first Roller Coaster Tycoon and its 2 expansions are all wonderful. Also they should be good and cheap by now and are playable on just about anything with a CD driv.

Transport Tycoon Deluxe, the game that practically invented...er...tycoon...ing....is available, for free, as OpenTTD.

It's not a carnival-type game, but it's damn fun. Unfortunately, you DO need a copy of Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

Are there any oil tycoon games set in the early 1900s that allow you to exploit small towns, abandon your son and murder people?
