Stupid question, but the 'team elemental effect damage' on the siren's tormentor mod functions in the same way as the bonus to elemental damage you'd find on a firefly/tempest plaguebearer mod, right? Only with a lower possible max, on account of it giving a bonus to all elements? Or is it a different mechanic?
I believe it's the same as the specific bonuses, just somewhat lower because it's all elements, and it affects your whole team if you're playing co-op. I haven't tested it though.

The vitriolic hate for the ending confuses me. I feel like I'm the only person who actually liked it. Granted, the end boss was a pushover, but as the story went, I was satisfied.

I just finished Borderlands with my father last night, and I can't say I've ever been so
    disappointed in a game's ending.

The ending consisted of a disgruntled ex-crimson lance(me, as Roland), and a crazy giant(Brick, played by my father) standing in front of two crimson lance and some albino chick who tried and failed to kill us several times. We stood and watched(paralyzed in fear of the inept 90 pound unarmored woman, I assume) as our sworn enemy insults us and slowly claims the vault for her own. Seriously. We had just killed about 400 highly trained soldiers/highly advanced aliens in under than 20 minutes(Some of them with only our fists!), without so much as a flesh wound, yet we seem to be unable to even assault these people verbally.

Then, as our antagonist opens the vault, the giant space vagina monster(not to be confused with the rakk breeder) attacks, killing steele, the only character in the story I gave a quarterdamn about. The voice in my head then says "Hey, there isn't any loot, just a destroyer of worlds. Good luck!". So, like I did with every other boss, I stood five yards away from it and shot bullets at it until it killed me, respawned ten yards away, moved closer, and repeat.

So, after adding a little under 400 bullet holes, and not too few fistprints, the 'destroyer of worlds' laid dead at my feet. Well, not really. For some reason it became invisible, but the actual monster physics were still there, posthumously forbidding us from getting the ammo and cash he dropped. We did, at least, manage to get a corrosive artifact from him. An artifact for Lilith.

Now, we mercenaries two, saviors of Pandora, killers of man, beast, and alien alike leave the giant invisible space vagina, and return to the less-than-sane Tannis to receive the reward one gets ending an ender.

$200,000 and half a paragraph of unvoiced text.

Is there anyplace that has Tannis' voice recordings and story (or even the whole Borderlands "story") written out? I missed hearing a bunch of the voice recordings because I was playing online with a few impatient people. I like to sit and read the intro to every quest I do and now I missed half the missions after getting to New Haven because of people who have either done this before or just don't care.

I'm not 100% sure if it has everything; but going to the quests menu, pressing Y, and then pressing Y a second time brings up a list of all of the ECHO transmissions and recordings you find/receive throughout the game.

Or alternately, you ask someone else what happened to Zed, and they respond "Zed's Ned, baby, Zed's Ned".

    I would accept either.

Anyone planning on playing tonight on 360?
I have a level 16ish (can't remember exactly) Siren and will probably be on around 9-12 (maybe later) EST.

I added the two PA Borderlands tags but can't view the friends lists yet as I think I'm still waiting for friend acceptance.

hey guys, asked this in the SE thread and didnt get a reply. Has anyone seen a lilith class mod that adds points to her phase strike ability? im playin on the 360 and would love to do over 1000% melee damage while phasing

and an added bonus. if no one has noticed this yet, if you totaly refill liliths phase cooldown by killing enemies before breaking phase you can melee attack while phased as many times as you can before the timer runs out without breaking phase

i love getting 6 800% melee attacks in a row

Doesn't exist, sadly. (Like my Gun Crazy+ mod for Mordecai :( )

What's the best loot drop people have seen from a single chest? I think my personal best just happened. Opened a red chest in Eridian Promontory and got my Pistol Mordecai not one but two orange revolvers. A level 40 Pestilent Defiler and a level 48 revolver with ammo regen and x2 corrosive damage (but no scope sadly). The only way that chest could have been better is if the Defiler was higher level, and the regen revolver had a different element and/or a scope.

Weird - I got the exact same chest in New Haven. And I think the other 2 revolvers were blue and purple. Definitely the best chest I've ever gotten. But of course that was as Brick with a low pistol proficiency.

While it may not be the most perfectly optimal setup, I've had quite a lot of fun playing Mordecai with a high damage Pestilent Defiler (only two shot magazine, but those usually have the highest power) with an Assassin COM for +4 Killer and +50% Corrosive damage.

I find myself running as quickly as possible from one enemy to the next melting them in quick order to keep Killer/Riotous Remedy/Relentless up as much as possible.

I've never seen it clearly transfer from one enemy to another. What I have seen is that it has a significant amount of splash, so if you hit one guy in a pack, everyone in the pack will get splashed with green goo and start taking corrosive ticks.

You can even use it as a grenade substitute for the quest
Fresh Fish! The only grenade mod I had was Transfusion, which doesn't work for spawning fish. Before I thought to unequip my Transfusion mod, I decided to try shooting the bobber with my trusty Defiler, and lo and behold, fish everywhere.
So it's basically a revolver that shoots small corrosive grenades. Which is awesome. Other weapons I've seen that work the same way are Volcano sniper rifles and Firehawk repeaters.

What carbon said. This fact also makes fire damage useful as hell for pretty much the entirety of the game. Even guardians take decent damage from volcano/firehawk/hellfire weapons, though you may want to have a shock weapon handy for those areas.

The only problem I have with Volcano Snipers, and other snipers that create that big gout of flame, is that it lingers for awhile and makes it impossible to aim precisely in that general vicinity for a few seconds afterward. It's a minor complaint considering how much damage they do, but there have been a few situations where I know I would have been better off with a nonelemental sniper, or at least one with a less visually obscuring effect like explosion.

Huh, that sure was an ending. I think. Woo corporate intrigue that isn't very intriguing.

I've still got dick all for fancy guns, one crappy Eridian thing that does 820 damage but goes so slowly that you can't hit a thing, I'm still using this level 22 revolver in conjunction with a non-elemental one that regens ammo and a non-elemental shotgun that regens (7*101 dmg, ~80 accuracy) and an alright but not great fire sniper rifle. Hmph.
