Hey gang, I'm looking to trade for some Type II heavy hitters. I'd like to get 4 Vengevine and 2 Lotus Cobra. I have a fair number of other mythics / planeswalkers/ tix available, so send me a PM if you'd like to trade.
Thanks!

M11 is shaping up pretty nice. A whole lot of commons and uncommons got spoiled last night and it definitely feels like they've upped the complexity and power of the core set. Now, power creep isn't really all that cool, but for the sake of limited I appreciate not having to feel like drafting booty chumps is a smart thing.
Some highlights:
Ajani's Pridemate 1W
Creature - Cat Soldier (Uncommon)
Whenever you gain life, you may put a +1/+1 counter on Ajani's Pridemate.
2/2
Liliana's Specter 1BB
Creature - Specter (Common)
Flying
When Lilians' Specter enters the battlefield, each opponent discards a card.
2/1
Shiv's Embrace 2RR (Urza's Saga Reprint)
Enchantment - Aura (Uncommon)
Enchant creature
Enchanted creature gets +2/+2 and has flying.
R: Enchanted creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
Cultivate 2G (Kodama's Reach functional reprint)
Sorcery (Common)
Search your library for up to two basic land cards, reveal those cards, and put one onto the battlefield tapped and the other in your hand. Then shuffle your library.

1) I'm willing to take those commons and uncommons off your hands. I still enjoy building and tweaking Pauper decks; I just haven't had much free time lately.
2) I'm curious what you guys would have done with this draft: http://puremtgo.com/articles/waiting-godot-distorted-results-roe-2 That draft shows my inexperience because I would have tried to continue forcing RW instead of moving into Blue and I would have ultimately failed.
3) I listened to the most recent Freed From the Real podcast and they somehow made the mental leap that because there are spells named for specific Planeswalkers, those Planeswalkers will be in the core set. I don't see how they can make that inference. The podcast was recorded shortly after Chandra's Rage was spoiled and they somehow concluded that because Jace made the flavor text, he was going to be in the Core Set. How can they make that leap?
I haven't drafted core sets before. Do they tend to be aggro heavy?
Also, I can't remember the name of the card, but we're essentially getting Brainstorm Lite in M11. (Scry, then draw a card)

m10 was as about as slow as roe drafts, just sit around until you play a bomb than win which is normal for core sets.
and there will most likely be the same 5 planewalkers reprinted in m11 as was in m10.
The thing I'm liking about M11 over M10 is that while it's still slower and about playing your bombs, (like Foomy said) the set appears more synergistic than M10. Before the only real synergies were soldiers or mono-black, but this set looks like each color has a good theme. I think it's cool they also finally figured out how to make a sea-serpent playable.
Archetype/synergy is something I'm really enjoying about ROE limited so I hope it remains true as more M11 cards get spoilered.
As for planeswalkers, they MIGHT switch it up, as Elspeth and Tezzeret are the new duel decks.
Edit: Also, I got the vengevines I wanted, still looking for 2 lotus cobras, give me a holler if you've got some you'd like to trade.

elspeth is defenetly not in as she cant fit in with the card numberings we know so far, and tez is useless without a good number of artifacts and doesnt really fit with core sets.

Ahh, totally right on the Elspeth thing. Last time I checked, cards 13 and 14 had placeholder names instead of their real names. I also agree about Tez being useless in a core set. I was just surprised that they would make reprints that wouldn't be usable in Standard.

the duel decks already contain lots of cards that arent standard legal, and theres a good chance of tez being reprinted sometime durings scars block, elspeth maybe too
So, I'm out of Draftings, but I've got a surplus of decent cards for constructed. How does that work? Do you just get in a que, like draft? Eliminamtion?

Yeah, there are 2, 4, and 8 man constructed queues in one of the rooms. I think they require 4 tix for entry.
And then there are bigger constructed tournaments in the Daily and Premier Event rooms.
superbrew, just realized I had left an eldrazi in that deck. Take the eldrazi out (because the infinite turn combo is cheap and I hate eldrazi in general), and replace it with the green myojin.
Yeah, I noticed that too. I've been seeing more and more games lately listed as "no Eldrazi", so I didn't know if it was purely as a countermeasure or what. Thanks for the heads up.

I call it beat down because I didn't have access to a whole lot of removal so I was banking on my heavy hitters to get out and do their thing. It worked.
Also..I was hesitant to do this, but figured I would try something different and drafted 2 Irresistable Preys. They came in extremely handy because I was in numerous situations where my opponent had creatures out that he didn't want in combat, but I forced the issue and killed them. The card still has a very narrow use, but for decks that contain eldrazi or the equivalent then it seems to work well as long as the opponent isn't full of potential spawn tokens. Then just sideboard them out.

That P3P7 Overgrown Battlement was a huuuge gift. With two Pelakka Wurms to accelerate towards, that is the definite pick over the Spider Umbra.
I don't know how popular type 2 is around here, but i just signed up and put together a deck and want to practice with it. Also if I can get an invite to the clan I would appreciate it! Rather play with forumers than randoms. Plus that way we can help each other get better.

That doesn't seem like a White ability. Very interesting. That card is screaming to be broken.
Listened to the most recent Mana Pool podcast on the way into work this morning. One of the guys got a screen shot from someone who was able to cast Gelatinous Genesis for X=8 on Turn 4 (4 Cloudpost + 1 Forest). Pretty awesome!
I managed to get a fellow WoW player hooked on MTG; just not sure if he's playing DPW, MTGO, or MWS.
Man, third time I've lost in a draft due to running out of time. I swear I am the slowest person ever.
I swear I work like this:
A) Play well Play fast
Pick one.
I seriously would have one with even 5 more seconds, not only that but I was clicking so fast on the turn before that that I regressed my own land instead of his block when I was swinging for lethal. I wish I knew of exercises to learn to play faster. I just can't find the best plays without giving it a lot of thought. I figured I would get faster as I played more, but I just went from glacial speed to slow.
Just play some pick up games with people in the Clan. Make a fun jank deck and just work on tweaking your play.
Using some keyboard shortcuts may help a bit. The only one I really use is F2 instead of clicking OK. There is a list if you check the MTGO FAQ on the WotC forums (basically F2 - F8 do something).
I think you just have to work on your playstyle a bit, and start trying to work a couple of turns ahead.

Damn. Maybe you should try and draft a more aggressive archetype to get a feel for quick play and a better sense of how your opponent's thought processes will flow?
I have no doubt that I would make fewer mistakes if I slowed down a bit, but it's rare for my clock to drop below 18 minutes in a 3 game match. Losing a game to time is not something that should really be happening in limited, barring certain control shenanigans and unsportsmanlike conduct.
We were both playing UB tons of removal and counters, very few wins con. He also had a white splash.
Game 1 went 23-24 turns. Game 2 I lost on turn 12 or something because I thought it was ok to tapout and he suffer the past'ed me for lethal. Game 3 I had 5 mins or less left and my deck was simply incapable of 'fast starts'. I was tons of removal, some token generators, and a few finishers in the form of a couple levelers, the black invoker, crusher, and ulammog.
I am getting better with F6'ing at the right times. One thing I noticed I was doing at the end that I never do is actively thinking about what I was going to do during my opponents turn. I normally just watch them play.
Sounds like we've got the start of an excellent "New to MTGO?" bit for the OP?
Check your 'stops.' Find these in Gameplay settings. Make sure you have one on your upkeep and your opponent's declare combat step. If the game isn't letting you cast a spell when you want/should be able to, check your stops.
Join the league. Find metaghost online and he'll add you.
Don't open the booster of "Planeswalker" cards. They are weird, gold-bordered cards that you can't use in the vast majority of formats and they will haunt your deck-building if you open them. Get cards from "Free" bots. They are often busy, and the top cards won't be there. But you can get a jumpstart on your collection with a lot of solid, playable commons for free from some of the bots set up to distribute cards.

Thanks!
