I just re-purchased UC1 just so I could play it again before I go for a Crushing run on UC2.

It's strange, but it feels so much...better than I remember from the first play.

So just finished this game i got it at launch annnnd ummmm

So how come there are shit games on the ps3, how can people use the ps3 technology as an excuse to fuck up ports forps3 games, how come valve's gabe newell bitches about the ps3 sucking balls ?

Theres not fucking excuse now if you ask me, if naughty dog made a game this awsome, visuals gameplay and audio are all works of art in this game, how the fuck can anyone fuck up a simple console game port? Seriously i dont get it... All ps3 games can be this good.

Granted, watching the in-game trailers of technology and art the guys at naughty dog did say it was very hard to work on the ps3 and to take full advantage of its capabilities, but what the fuck how come nobody else does this? I havent seen a single game that has ever impressed me this much this generation (killzone 2 graphics werent impressive for me, i dont like looking at mud).

PS3 is hard to code for for multiplatform games (so I've heard) since its architecture is vastly different from that of the other platforms. Doesn't mean there aren't good-looking multiplat games on it but games made from the ground up for the console generally look better.

Also, what's the blue number next to your rank in the matchmaking lobby?

If it's the same as the next gen filter from uncharted 1 then yeah. They wash out the colour from the environment a bit and crank the bloom to 11.

The filter should also add some NPCs and billboards to the game telling you about DLC.

You know how you sit in wild wonder and realize HOW BIG the levels are?

I accidentally EXITED the game world in Chapter 18 World of Ice at this part:
From the GameFaqs: Go up the stairs and reach for the snowy rock ledges. Climb up to a bar which
is actually a lever. It activates some weird statue faces that pop out of the
wall and crumble to form ledges for climbing. Convenient, but dangerous. It's
a timed mechanism so you need to climb and climb fast. Just look for the yellow
lines along the ledges and it's easy to know where you need to shimmy or change
    position when climbing.

Right before the lever part on the ledge, I managed to sneak thru the wall into the icy whiteness of nothing. The problem is I couldn't get back in and it kept spawning me there two or three times before it got it right and put me back into the world.

The levels are big but what is really impressive is that the endless scale is presented in a way that it's not obviously "the backdrop in the distance" because the level was much smaller then I would have thought.

That's one big difference I noticed in UC2 even compared to 1. It's so common for parts of a level to have a large gap between what you can get to and what's the background, and the background looks completely untraversable. It's common to feel that you're in a larger world with only one possible path ever and you just happen to be on it.

Yet looking around Uncharted 2, you see plenty of ledges, rooftops, alleys, and other bits that would allow you to fit there perfectly fine, but there's no way to get to them. And not in a cheap way, just in a "this roof is too far to jump" or "there's a wall but nothing to move to jump up over it" way. I actually noticed it first in Borneo, when you can first see the ocean, there's a few very close-by parts that look like you can get out to them (and where you'd assume some treasure was hidden). Nope, just a natural part of the terrain. And it wasn't just all boulders and jagged rocks copy-pasted around.

So yes, I also liked that there weren't just arbitrary "wooden roadblock" walls in pretty much any level.

If I remember his review of the original, he basically went on about "YOU'RE A WHITE GUY KILLING BROWN PEOPLE, HURRRRRRRRR". Like, that's all he fucking talked about.

I've never actually enjoyed his reviews ('smug dick' is not my preferred editorial style), but I've got no interest in hearing his thoughts on the sequel to a game he was pointlessly racially sensitive about, at the expense of basically everything else.

Heres some good news for my fellow Uncharted addicts.

since this game has pushed the PS3 to its limits, then basically Uncharted 3 has very little to learn. It just needs art, story, level design. They literally have to do nothing gameplay or code wise to produce yet another amazing game.

The Uncharted 2 review seemed weird though. Felt like he was being critical just to go agaisnt the crowd.

I don't take his opinions/reviews seriously. He's a comedy act, why should I? They are funny videos and that's basically all they are.

And yeah, all he talked about in the UC1 review was that you are white and that you shoot a Bennetton ad's worth of ethnic henchmen. And something about how Nathan was more annoying with his quips than charming.

While yeah sure they've got a solid engine built. It still takes some time to make an environment, make sure that all the parts of it are enteracting properly. Test the game. In the devs own words make it more awsome. That much awsome takes time.
