also double cash weekend and fat versions of Drake and Lazarevic.
edit: Actually, does using fat versions make you a bigger target? Also, I used Elena during the beta and was constantly getting shot. I assumed it's partially because of her bright white shirt.
All I know about Lazarevic, having just started UC2 but gathered from internet talk and trailers is that he's a mean looking dude who is the main antagonist. I don't know if that's spoilers or not, but maybe I won't be able to appreciate Doughnut Lazarevic as much as you people might.
How was the Halloween thing, btw? With the skeletons and whatnot.
Fuck yeah, I'm hopping back on the game when this update goes live. Awesome that ND could give us a free update, and hopefully it puts in some new playlists. Hopefully everyone on PA will feel the need to pop back on, too.
Was honestly kind of odd cause the undead avatars don't speak. So you just had a bunch of corpses running around shooting eachother quietly. Still double the cash was sweet. This time around though it will be all the clasic drake and lazaravich dialouge cept with the bass turned up.
you forget the skeletons on halloween had glowing red hearts/souls so it was easy as hell to spot them and gave you a nice center mass to aim for. It was kind'a unfair really.
After playing the BC2 beta, the loading times for the MP mode in this game really bugs me. Especially the half minute load times just to start the MP mode

Right, so I asked...does fat Drake and Lazarevic make them easier targets? I was Elena in the MP and I was wondering if my white shirt made me an easier target than say, dirt colored Drake.
Gotta love how the character models more or less totally disregard everything developers have learned about visibility and balance. I mean I was playing on the hero's side and one player had the Harry Flynn (white shirt) model on. It made it so I had to pause a beat every time I saw a player in street clothes to make sure it was my teammate and not the one villain player with bright clothing.
It's cool to play as hero characters, but for pure balance, it might've been better for Naughty Dog to do a generic Pirates vs Mercenaries think like MW2 does with its various factions.
You also have to start up a UC2 game first. If you dont' have a UC2 save, you can't import the cash.
Truth. I thought mine was borked too, but I was trying to get the $100k bonus by going into the multiplayer store. Start a new game (I vote for Normal your first time through, btw) and go into the single player store to get your $100k.
I had to press square in the store before I'd get the cash imported in. Don't know if that's mentioned anywhere but I didn't know about it until I went and looked it up online.
Has anyone else come across the bugs in the SP game, where you can hang from a ledge but you are unable to get up? There was a part in the tank chase where I guess I was supposed to hang from a wall and shoot, but instead I jumped the wall and hung from a railing. Had to commit suicide to get anywhere. It happened in another part too, where I just couldn't press X to get up.
Ok the fortress level is freaking huge and awsome. Unfortunatly I think that it's a bit too easy on survival. You can literaly jump down the fountain and wait for them to jump down into a hail of gunfire and broken necks. Still an amazing map. People need to get on tommarow night enjoy the final evening of double cash and double chins.

I'd be down for some co-op/survival tomorrow night. Haven't played online in quite a few weeks now and even then it was just a quick co-op game. So I really haven't done anything major since the beta. It's pretty much all new to me.
Yeah, the AI just doesn't know who to handle that big pit. On top of that, EVERY round a few of them will get stuck in the upper corners, waiting for you to hunt them down.
Just pick up their crossbows and they'll go down nice and easy
It's just that like, you know, the entirety of the game when you had to face them, you were able to run away or basically avoid them.
Now the game is like "Oh yeah, now you have to fight them for real. Enjoy!". I'm sure if I try it a few more times I'll get it, but it's late and I need to get up at a decent hour tomorrow.

Couldn't you guys have come a bit earlier? I wanted to play Survival, dammit. And yeah, The Fort is a good map, way better than Train Wreck.
What was that guy( Mr Slim? ) saying at the end of my last Plunder match? I thought I heard "muddy water up my ass".

Amazon is selling this for $40 right now. I was going to wait a while on buying this, but I figured the price won't be this low for a long time and decided to order it.
I got it for ~40 during a TRU sale a few months back. I only started it this past week and I'm almost done with it. I still say it's worth that and possibly more.
This black friday stuff is testing my backloggery.
In any part where you fight the guardian things, the first kill is always the hardest. My advice is to use your NPC companions as much as you can, and never stay in one spot for too long. Run around, take a few shots, and relocate. Once you kill your first one, use the crossbow to quickly dispatch the rest. It only takes two bolts to kill them with a crossbow.

Yeah, I figured out a good strategy that I'll implement when I play it later. I need to stop trying to fist fight them as well. The little QTEs aren't for beating them, it's for not dying when they get you.
But like I said, up until now, they were basically like those unkillable things from Phantom Hourglass. They chase you, you shoot them and run away until they give up. Each time they've only been killed due to plot or cutscene. I wonder if there's an achievement for killing one earlier in the game, if you even can. I thought those GAU gunners were impossible to kill, especially during the train yard part right before the car chase, but later in the game it just took a few grenades launcher hits to knock them down. I wonder if I could even kill them at that part in the trainyard.

Funny thing about the Guardians is I never realized that their own crossbows were their kryptonite until like... the last set of them in that big fight near the end. I did it the hard way, killing them with bullets like a real man.

Yeah, I don't understand how crossbows are stronger than bullets. That Tibetan village fight had all the villagers armed with crossbows and doing a pretty good job against the grunts.
wait i thought we were talking about the traditional wooden crossbows of the nepalese rather than the guardians' fuck-off double-barreled bows, which hardly need poison
they're magic

Since when does this game have magic going on? The Guardians are basically just mutated people.
And I was just responding to the comment that the Guardians own crossbows are more lethal to them than bullets, which is absurd.

This tutorial is epic though. I already died once (thanks, helpful death counter!) because I got stuck on a chair and missed the jump.

What are the new skins for the Holiday weekend?

Doughnut Lazarevic and Doughnut Drake in honor of Thanksgiving. Player models are locked to those two only.

Isn't that terrible on the PS3? Or is that only the online, and the single player is fine?
