yeah, your brim doesnt need to be so around. I'd also take out at least one of the loops around the top. Smoothing out your normals should make that look round enough.

Otherwise, good work. Nice and clean. you're using every single polygon that you have in there, so good stuff.

So is the raptor going to be wearing a full suit that's been raptor-tailored, or is it just gonna have a necktie on, with that and whatever wig/moustache/accessories it has being its only disguise?

This is a dumb question but my textures just don't seem to show up ever in UDK. I can get the stuff to work fine with SDK but when something's textured in UDK (i.e a 1024x1024x32 floor tile), it only likes to show the texture on one or two sides and wireframe the rest.

    Make me less dumb please.

99% sure. It's even texturing the bottom of the block, but the top remains wiry and skinny.

    Velociraptor job simulator:

If I had the skills I would create a song composed entirely of windows acknowledge and error sounds, for the obvious IT department stage.

    Additionally:

If I had the skills / time I would port Unreal 1 to U3 engine and update the assets and levels :P - same for UT (this would be a "dream come true")

Odd, the signature screams "spammer" but the content's legit. And a good idea. A procedual Metroidvania? I'd play it.

Is Velociraptor Job Interview Simulator Pro going to have a "hard mode" where the protagonist is the size of a real velociraptor, as opposed to a Jurassic Park velociraptor? In reality they were about the size of a chicken. Not as imposing, but you could hide under a desk and give somebody's legs a good chewing.

Approximate order of events (the first two are interchangeable due to uncertainty):

GnomeTank expresses game design ideal -> Spammer comes up with novel way of "stealth" spamming involving machine translation -> random spanish post pops up on forum with inauspicious signature -> Kris runs it through Google Translate -> the similarity to GnomeTanks's original post is noted and pointed out -> spam post is nuked by Echo.

I believe it was one of the admins that posted a notice a couple weeks back that spammers were starting to do this.

Basically, they're spamming through sigs, masking their spamming by trying to present themselves as legitimate posters with legitimate content. The content is stolen procedurally, by either copying and translating/doubletranslating an original random post from the same thread, or from another thread. The creepy part is that some of them seem to be cross-forum. I remember there was one people weren't sure of, because it was *so* on-topic -- like, it was talking about Crysis in a Crysis thread, and it wasn't obviously copied from somewhere else in the thread, but it was a little 'off' in its form, it was disjointed from what everyone else in the thread was saying --- someone ran the text through google, and it turns out the bot had intelligently copied it from a [H]ardOCP thread about Crysis.

So yeah. Spammers are getting scary as fuck.

This particular one was spamming for debt counselling or something. I wasn't paying that much attention.
Personally, I think it's fun; a nice memetic arms-race to see if we cant evolve better interneteers by eliminating the weak (both of spambots and of people whoo click on spam-links and subsequently have no money). Maybe we'll even get spambots that are genuinely indistinguishable from regular humans, except that they always seem to know of a neat offer related to the topic at hand....
