Why having to work in the library at Uni is bad, reason no. 1 = no coffee at the desk! :(

I was drinking coffee in a wet lab yesterday. I'm pretty sure that I am not supposed to do that, but dammit, I'm busy and need coffee.

They drill it out. The spiraling strand that results from this is then repackaged and sold as another noodle, so nothing goes to waste.

I had this wonderful scenario in May of last year. I had submitted my Dissertation, my other class was coursework based so that left me with one single, but rather hard, exam.

And then when I took it, all the subjects I understood best had come up. It was like the best parting gift I could have got.

I will retaliate by making this post about SE being dumb.

    SO DUMB!

    SE++ is actually ok. :?

I'm not sure how to respond to this without altering your repsonse to the point where it only exists in a theoretical sense.

I mean for a majority of posters I totally agree.

But then I think back to my absurd amount of lurking in there and think "Well yeah, except for the fucking assholes who are consistently assholes and either actively cheered on for being assholes or never called out for being assholes. What the fuck is with that?"

Because there are people who think that being an asshole can be funny

    and it can be hilarious

There is a difference between acting like an asshole and being an asshole.

For example: Ludious and RonaldotheGypsy act like assholes around here, but when it comes down to it they're actually nice guys. They're willing to drop the joke and just be people sometimes.

uh yeah the people you're thinking of probably only do that outside the forums. It's kind of like colbert, they have a character to keep up.

Winter is like the Nazis, by RMS Oceanic

First the nights became cold, and I didn't speak out, because I was asleep.

Then the mornings became cold, and I didn't speak out, because I was still asleep.

Then the evenings became cold, and I didn't speak out, because I have central heating.

Then the late afternoons became cold, and I didn't speak out, because I was busy with production issues.

Then the midday sun became cold, and I didn't speak out, because my lunch was warm.

Then I became cold...and there was no-one to speak for me.

Well, it's one of the most hyped games ever (highest pre-oders and sequel to one of the best selling games ever) and it has "controversy" written all over it. I'd even say the intro level is just there to generate controversy and publicity by proxy.

Edit: And here's what Charlie Brooker has to say about it...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the Citizen Kane of repeatedly shooting people in the face. The storyline makes less sense than a gas ladder, but in terms of technical achievement, this is an undoubted masterpiece. The visuals, the soundtrack, the level design, the game mechanics … they're all second to none, and they work together to create something that's not so much a videogame as a borderline nightmare experience. The phrase "an assault on the senses" doesn't come close: it's thrilling, immersive, sometimes scary, always exciting, and occasionally downright overwhelming.

I just wish I could strangle more at work. its hard to hide a bag full of kittens under my desk and If I leave it in my car, they'll smell it up.

just another BS restriction. seriously, why do they make it so hard for a man to enjoy strangling a kitten at work?
