I just looked up what I should ask for as far as salary on salary.com and found out that more than half of application engineers have a bachelors while only 9% have an associates.
Now I feel like I'm going to fail miserably this job.
I am building shelves. Also I just sanded 64 square feet of masonite to prep for gesso. It's going to be a long night. Also, if anyone is interested I think I will be live broadcasting some oil painting between 6 and 9 tonight (PST).
Hell yeah. And these shelves are super mickey-mouse things I made using some window molding and a corner guard. They just stick out about 1 1/2 inches from the wall so I can put paintings on them.
I need to do a research paper on an artist whose methods I am interested in, and then make an art project in that person's style
the problem is, she has very specific source requirements
the hardest one being, 2 published articles in a journal. they are supposed to be critical reviews...so they have to be in critical art journals
none of the artists i am into meet this requirement fully
charley harper has been in one journal.
i need an artist, who you think i'd like, who's been in 2 fancy review journals
And that would be kickass cake I'd be interested in such a livestream.
Also I am making Blueberry Cheesecake Muffin Cake. I am finding out the more words you use to describe a food the more delicious it sounds. Especially if the word has crunchy in it.
And I need to learn how to save files more often, lost about 5 hours of work today but oh well I have Blueberry Cheesecake Muffin Cake to ease my pain.
Livestream of painting is probably not going to go up tonight, I am having some problems getting it to work and I still have another shelf to hang anyways. I will definitely get it working for tomorrow though.
WOOOOOOOOO I'm fuckin' DOOOOOOOOOONE [tiny]with fall quarter.[/tiny]
I have completed 96% of my 18 years of school! WAHOO
Also our EA professor took out our class (of 6, and also with two TA's and his girlfriend) for pizza! And we all chatted about games and the EA dudes and the Illustration department and had a really hilarious, hilarious, awesome time. Great way to end the final day.
Also-also, I get to take this professor next quarter for yet another concept art course (the timing for these courses popping up has just been fucking perfect for my academic schedule over the years)....only this one is much easier in the fact that we have much more time to complete assignments...which is AWESOME, because it means I can rock the hell out of it.
ALSO-Also-also, we've knocked the idea around of starting a "concept art" club...our professor said that if we can be "official" and get SCAD funding, we may be able to fly some people the professor knows in the industry, to SCAD, for portfolio reviews and lectures and stuff. AWESOME. I'm considering jumping on this, and maybe bein' a co-founder or something, purely for the title, purely for resume purposes. It may not matter at all, but it may be a little teeny tiny gold star, and that would be rad. I'm not even sure if they'd have titles like that, but...DAMMIT, I'll talk to the prof about it next quarter and see if it's possible / how that's handled.
Also, "clubs" like that are generally a good idea if you're really motivated and persistent, i.e. heckle the shit out of professors and administrators and get that stuff together. Get a syllabus designed or a project or something to show that you're really into it and it will work out well, I promise!

*cue anxiety spiral*
'learn by doing' is the only way for this shit.
You'll be fine.
Wow, thanks, you just stopped that anxiety attack cold in its tracks.
I totally forgot that I didn't learn a goddamn thing in college.
Actually, I learned a lot, it's just that nobody taught me a goddamn thing in college. I had to go and find things out myself.
Which admittedly is actually a valuable skill.
edit: oh wait I also learnt all about alcohol poisoning. But really, I could have got those experiences anywhere.
It's all thanks to this place.

I was thinking about you and your job on my way to the forum. I'm happy for you man! You deserve it!

It would be cool even if I couldn't afford to put any more than my current number of cars (1) in it. I'd just put all my stuff in it for fun.
"Now where did I leave my tortillas? Ah yes, they are on the 16th floor 23rd parking bay of my crazy silo of bullshit, now I remember."

Yeah, me too, heh! ...but nope, 17.33 years out of 18.
Cheerfablear: sweet! I will see what I can do! Having a professor to back us up on this will be a great plus.
Thanks, NibCrom!
Metalbourne will you grade these papers? I don't care what you write.
Hell yeah. Everyone's grade is "tungsten"
I should try submitting all of my students' grades to the registrar as different elements from the periodic table.
Shit, Marvin, I scored a Darmstadtium!
