This is a dumb problem. I use a wireless keyboard/mouse and have never had any problems whatsoever, even with gaming, until I updated to Windows 7. The instant I did, games became unplayable due to keyboard lag/latency.
Sometimes the problem is that I'm holding down a key and it takes a few seconds for it to register. Other times it works perfectly fine, which makes this the most annoying thing in the world because I can't predict when or if the computer will decide to ignore my input.
The other problem is that I will be holding down a key and let go, but for a few seconds it continues to act as if I'm still holding down the key. This is nearly as frustrating.
The wireless mouse works just fine. I've replaced the batteries in the keyboard. I've moved the wireless receiver right next to the keyboard. I've tried adjusting the repeat delay/rate in the control panel. Nothing works.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Buying a brand new wired keyboard isn't an option right now, but I shouldn't have to. Everything was fine until Windows 7.
Sorry for triple posting. I'm typing this on my phone. I read that ATI drivers could be responsible for laggy keyboards and I didn't think much of it since I have an NVidia card. In my processes, though, was an ATI service. I disabled it in msconfig and restarted the computer, and now my wireless receiver won't turn on at all. Ugh, this is getting annoying.
Also, are you using a wireless network or any other kind of wireless device, other than the keyboard and mouse? I've found that file transfers over 802.11n interfere with my G7 mouse.
