I'm not sure it's "dickish" to buy and play PS3 only games on PS3...
I'm confused now. What?
Also, Uncharted 2 IS fucking awesome, and probably the best game I've played in a very long time. I still should have bought Brutal Legend for 360, though, but I never suspected that it would be so hard to find PSN players. Oh well. Live and learn, and watch streaming matches, right?
Hint hint.
STREAM SOME MATCHES, FOR I AM BORED AT WORK!
I'll see what I can do, The Misses is trying to beat dragon age currently.
Well stream that, too! We're not picky.
I haven't played BL for ages now. Since the community's started to grow, what's a good time to hop on and play some team games?
I've bought a copy for a friend for Christmas, with absolutely no ulterior motives whatsoever. Certainly not to play multi with him. No, that'd just be selfish.

Fuck yes, rank 30 bitches. Celtic Cross right here!
I am currently the lowest level 30 here, but I made it, dammit!
Also, if you check the leaderboards, a lot of people at the top have had their records wiped or something. The first guy that actually has games played is in place 14, and then another gap until 20.
I wonder if inactive people will slowly be shuffled downward or something.
Ugh. MORE loses. Damnit. It's been ages since I faced a good Drowning Doom team and me and Shattered got massacred. Well he only lost once because his Xbox cut him out two out of the three battles. I stuck through it though. Man Tainted Coil can't do jackshit to Drowning Doom long-term wise =/ Kinda irritating how the one time we almost beat them he cuts right then and there when were trying to take out some veiled brides by our stage. Grrr. Meh I knew my spot wouldn't last in the two digits....like usual. Well atleast my rank didn't drop too badly though. Only by like a dozen
The only times I seem to really lose are in team battles or custom matches...
Or that one rare badass out of the flock of noobs.
If you want to see some Team Games, add some of us. We sometimes form parties and battle each other or go on matchmaking. Finding team games through matchmaking is a challenge sometimes. Custom match works best.
By any chance, what got you to play this? This weekend, a whole bunch of new people were online at once. I was pleasantly suprised and tried to tutor everybody through Voice Chat. One person said the demo, on person said G4...
Tim Schafer is counting on word of mouth about multiplayer despite the "lol RTS" tantrums from it's high reviews yet mediocre sales.
Uhmmm a lot of reasons really. I'm a huge Tim Schafer fan from back in the day, still will fire up the old Lucasarts adventure games once and a while. I did play the demo and liked it and said to myself well I should go get that... then Borderlands hit and I forgot for a few weeks. When I remembered about the game I came here to see what people were saying... here I found the comparison of the multiplayer to Sacrifice. I used to play the hell out of that game when it was released and loved it. So basically I am getting a Schafer game with the bonus of a unique multiplayer experience? Sounded like a slam dunk. So far it has been.
wow, the ps3 situation sounds horrible. can't believe it degenerated like that.
EDIT: Kor, any chance you can record some stuff in your live feed? I don't want to wait for a time when your playing to watch some ass kickin. simply don't have that luxury.

well crap.
anyway, I'm thinking about how well does one army do against another. when facing one another, do any army ever feel like their at a slight disadvantage? or is it simply a matter of skill and luck?
I really wish this game had a training mode, theres so much I need to test out about the ironheade army!

Now you're in a Guilty Gear 2 mindset. The side with the more vicious and involved avatar wins. There is very little "throw my army at his army while I do something else" moments :P
Unit descriptions will tell you if a unit is Anti-Infantry or Anti-Vehicle though, giving you a general idea of what rapes what.

maybe not armies, but I've always thought that TC gains a disadvantage the more players you have.
by that, I mean if you played a 4v4, and one person was TC, the other team could suicided bomb into the builder units keeping them almost entirely locked up.
I will say that it's intersting how IH's Rock block only stops stage production, but DD's Gloom stops stage and unit breeding (which is obviously designed to hit TC specifically).
yeah, rock block ain't all that in ,my opinion. it stops unit production for what? 20 seconds? LAME.
DD's gloom is a sky effect, and would be full of useless (like rock block) if it didn't stop TC's unit production.
you guys have had 4 vs 4 matches? how are they, are they epic? laggy? I've only seen 2 vs 2.

4 player TC can spam their chain solo though and lock down an entire enemy team preeeetty good.

Nowadays just playing the first two notes causes avatars to drop what their doing and fly. This means you use it to scare advanced opponents off.
Nothing happened to an Eddie player who was Double Teamed with a Razor Girl. I was VERY pissed.

Like I said, suicide bomb.
Line yourselves up. Go in one at a time, land, hit X 5 times, and take off. Nun's only have like 14 health, that means it only takes 3 different lightning sprees to kill an nun.
Goddammit I can't play tonight anymore. My mom's identity was stolen. I was first, Grandma was second now she was third and we're fucking broke already.

Well, today was certainly full of ups and downs.
I got to 30, then lost it because some kid quit out on me after I wouldn't quit for him (he asked me twice).
Then, after 3 matches or so, I got my 30 back, only to have it taken away immediately after by 3 Disconnects, which were all garbage disconnects...
Then after that, I get into this weird grove. I keep getting paired against people who've never played before, and they keep quitting immediately, giving me free wins.*
Finally, to close the night off, I fight that Morkai guy, and he wins simply because my bleeding death wanted to attack a merch booth instead of a base.
*okay weirdest thing. These 5 games that people quit or surrendered in the first 5 seconds, you know how you see ormagodden for your autosave thingy in the top left corner? Well... he was replaced by a dime. As in, a small circular white thing with a head, and a marking that said "10C" (except, the cents symbol).
Still having fun with the game now that the newbish baron spammers I've figured out exactly what I was doing wrong with. It's still frustrating and on maps like pleasure gardens it's next to impossible to stop them but I just ignore the trophy whoring bitches and play. I literaly asked the first guy that asked to trade surenders why he's even playing the game if not to have fun and aperantly he just couldn't understand what I meant.
If you ever get your game back from your bud I'll definatly play a few rounds with yah Lucascraft.

I had a guy ask me last night, "Can I win this?" Not even asking to trade, just asking me to let him win.
What the fuck, people. It's a game. You play it to compete and have fun.
you gotta love these achievement whores. acting like getting achievements is an accomplishment or something. crazy shit.
EDIT: a little random here, but I really have to hand it to Tim Shaffer on designing this as a multiplayer game, yet focusing so much on the single player after re-reading that interview. it's a great insurance because morons can't understand that some game's focus is on multiplayer. it's like the best of both worlds going on, and the single player is just a side show in the end, but a fucking brilliant side show all things considered.
basically, Tim managed to escape some of the shit multiplayer games get for being primarily multiplayer, and putting less focus on the single player. and you can't have the game advertise "Hey, I need to be played with other people to get your moneys worth." Brilliant designing that went on.
GG2 got torn to shreds because every moron down the block could have sworn the game's single player was the main content and almost completely ignored the multiplayer aspect. and I'm saying this multiplayer was so heavily ignored that they didn't even factor that part of the game in their review, they just kinda mentioned it was hard if they played against others online and ended it there. could have avoided the problem completely by making a decent single player experience, or at least say that it was a multiplayer game directly instead of sorta trying to hide the fact.

Assuming my class goes well today, I'll try to get home and stream/record some videos.
This will be like 2 and a half hours or so, and also assuming my wife isn't still trying to beat dragon age.
Augh, I'm an achievement whore but I still think one should earn their achievements. My 50 wins will all be pried from the cold dead avatars of my opponents.
Then I'll probably play some more.
Also, what got me into the game? This topic and Yahtzee's review.
What really sold this game for me was the single player. When I got the game I played the single player first and didn't know that there was multiplayer until the day I got it.
I beat the sh** out of single player and then played a couple of practice matches just to get the feel for multiplayer.
Then I learned the rest from just playing against other players online. So much to learn, so much fun to be had.
Now I just play this game for its multiplayer, I havn't even touched single in a while now, once you beat it nd get everything, there really is no point in going back.
This is true, I'm just wrapping up the collections now, the only reason I'll fire up single player after that is to possibly run through Brutal mode.
Really, single player is extremely easy unless you do it on Brutal. It feels like Brutal is Normal.
I had a lot more fun on my Brutal run-through than Normal. I almost beat the game on my first playthrough without upgrading anything, including the Deuce, and I did every side mission as well. I needed those the second time around or I would have died/failed a lot.
