So a with a well placed charger on that first ledge area, I can see a lot of Dead Center versus games ending early
Throw a Jockey into the mix and you're set to end the game there. That'll be the beauty of the new vs. not knowing what your lineup will be as infected, instead of knowing there will generally be one boomer, one smoker, and two (or three) hunters. I really can't wait.
I like how the whole thing plays out like one big tutorial, as both the player and the characters figure out how everything works in this strange new zombie apocalypse.
Kinda wonder how well that'll work in versus, though.
Things I also like:
another mini-gauntlet
the characters introducing themselves to one another in the elevator
how hard it was to see in the smoke-filled burning lobby
the little fetch quest for the cola (anyone else hoping for some sort of cola run vs mode down the line?)
the fact that the last phase of the campaign is basically the scavenger mode
wandering witches are looking like they're going to be tense as fuck
Dammit, I keep automatically clicking on spoilers just to frantically click them shut again before I read anything because I realise it genuinely is a spoiler.

So uh, no one wants to marathon this with me tommorow? Don't make me go solo or pug it guys!
I don't think I want to go through the whole thing in one sitting, but I'm certain you'll find enough people in Armadeadon on the day, and just swap mans in as necessary.
I saw someone mention that there are no incaps in Realism mode. From what I know, this is not true. Incapacitations do exist in Realism mode; it's the Witch who is always instant death.
Kupi on
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

And additionally, there are no survivor closets at which to rescue dead survivors; the defibrillator is needed to bring people back if they're killed.
I'm not sure if survivors will respawn in the saferoom at the start of the next map as usual, though.

I was telling somebody about how the hunter went invisible prior to release of the first L4D, and they didn't quite believe me, but I found hands on experience that talked about it:
In a game in which ambush is key, the Hunter wins hands down - he is the only Infected with the power of invisibility. To do this, the Hunter must stand against a wall for a few moments before fading from view. He is only invisible while he is immobile; moving or attacking drops the invisibility immediately. He is not entirely undetectable, however, as the Hunter frequently emits a low growl that can be heard by Survivors in the area. Fortunately, the Hunter has enough sense to stop this when the Survivors get too close.

all of the other campaigns are intentionally unconnected, as no mercy and death toll were until crash course came out
l4d2 has all of the campaigns connected, as valve is now trying to place more emphasis on they story, which they were avoiding in l4d
Oh for Pete's sake you guys. I was so contented with letting this one go. I was so ready to not buy this. Then I played the demo and see all the new things they added and with all the stuff I saw in the OP...and now you tell me that there's going to be an actual story?!
Is there a Dead Center video that isn't from the xbox version? Cause that shit is painful to watch. It shouldn't take twenty bullets to the head to kill CI. And they shouldn't just flop over.

xbox version is the only one that broke release date
Yeah, any PC version that broke release date and got sold early wouldn't work because it requires validation through steam, whereas the xbox version can be played single-player.
Unlike EA, where they let you redownload the game for only 6 months, after that you were shit out of luck. Unless you paid $5 extra for them to let you redownload the game for 2 years! Nice!
Okay, help me...I like to have the disk when I own a game so I can have it on the shelf, but getting it through Steam is just so much cheaper.:?
If I d-load it through Steam, is it a pay once, then can re-download in the future type deal? (probably a stupid question, but...)
You can re-download as many times as you want.
The "disc" is essentially useless. Sure you can install the core game from it, but it still needs to be verified from Steam. And once it's been installed, the game's tied to your Steam account (All games that Valve releases are tied to your Steam account even if you bought them in-store).
Basically the way a Steam account works is that any game you buy on Steam (or any game you buy that's tied to Steam, like Valve games) is tied to your account from thereon in. Afterwards you can login to your account anywhere, and re-download the games any time you want, as many times as you want.
You can have literally a copy of L4D stored on any computer you use. It doesn't matter as long as only one copy is in use at a time. The way this is done is because you need to be logged into your Steam account to play, so only one copy (wherever it is) is in use at any one time. Although Steam does also allow you to take the computer "offline", whereby it'll allow you to access your Steam games without needing to login online. I'm not sure how that works with multiple copies.
Realistically for a game like Left 4 Dead you need to be online anyway, so that last points probably moot to begin with.
Yeah, you have no limits to how often you can re download it or anything. And valve said if they ever went financially under they have a patch ready to go to unlock the games from steam (though you would need to download and back them up first...however this isn't likely to happen).

Nick: Who The hell is Jimmy Gibbs Junior?
Coach: Oh, I know Jimmy Gibs, man's a stock car legend!
Nick: Well I'm getting sick of looking at this guy's face.
Coach: Trust me, in these parts, he's as famous as................Elvis. Or the President.
Nick: Really? Cause he looks like an asshole.
Care for a spot of tea in about 12 hours Flippy? I sure do miss some good English tea.

"Axe me a question. I dare you!"
So excited for this game.
I did too. Does that make me a bad person? I don't care :P
1 Day 8 hours to go!

You're not a bad person, you're a great person. Flippy apparently has lost his soul.

Seems to be it. There's this steamforums link if you want map images and real world connections

From here.
I wish that was still in in a manner of speaking. Like they went slightly invisible. Not totally.
LIES. FILTHY FILTHY LIES.
Especially because L4D loves to force spawn you in the worst spots. As a boomer. :x

My wallet hates you guys so freaking much.
So much hate.
But the prospect of charging through a tonne of new shit with you guys, plus the cheap deal on the 4-pack (being a European) made it too good to miss.
Which would be awesome.
xbox version is the only one that broke release date
I'm going to be playing the demo tomorrow night with a friend to convince him he needs the demo. Who wants to join me? Talk about last second!
