Hah, that mite quest is the fastest thing ever too.
Actually, it's kind of broken and it's a lot easier for some classes than others. Your pet/totem lands the killing blow on the mob? No mites come out. Your pet/totem kills a mite? Doesn't count toward the quest.

How long ago was that? I haven't tried it, but in 2.1 they made some pet changes that might have fixed that bug:
Abilities and items that are triggered when you kill a target are also now triggered when your pet kills a target.

It's possible that you get credit on that quest when your pet lands the killing blow now.

I'm pretty sure both experiences were post-2.1. The hunter was about a week ago and the shaman was last night. Oh well. I think my Warlock's the only one who hasn't done it at this point, anyway.

Finally getting through the gronn killing quests and getting into ogri'la.

My favorite quest there has to be the bombing quest (especially when your group is on vent either humming the theme to top gun or quoting the movie everytime they make a pass/finish a run).

    Invisibility on my mage.

Trying to avoid a nasty pat (when its on the path you need to be on) to get to your grinding area?

Having some dumbass try to aoe farm in the same area you are grinding in where his combat somehow links with yours, and him getting his ass kicked?

Granted, a couple of times I misjudged the pat only to have it right behind me when I pop back out...

You know, someone explained that whole invisibility thing a while back and I don't really understand it. Someone told me that when you go invisible, you can't see any mobs or people, and they can't see you (Since it is different than just stealth). So how does that work? I mean, what if you come out of invisibility right next to like 20 mobs? I just don't really see how that is useful.

You can still see party members (at least, I could when I tried it out), and while I haven't encountered it yet, other players who can see invisibilty somehow or are invisible themselves are visible to you.

With invisibility, it really seems like you need to be fully aware of your surroundings BEFORE you hit it, and have a general idea of how the stuff there pats. I can use it very well in areas I've been farming, but I might hesitate before relying on it in an area I've never been to before. At this point I use it to avoid pats I know the path for (and that are in the way), and for escaping combat in bad situations (oh gawd I pulled all 5 guys, luckily there's a nice large empty space behind me I can run to and escape harm for 4 seconds).

As an aside, the mage still isn't big enough to head to skettis, so I'm not sure how it interacts with those invisible priests. I also haven't really had to rely on it in a group situation as an aggro drop (lower level frost mage with lvl 70 warlocks and warriors? Yeah, not an issue).

Invisibility is swell when you hit the button and nothing happens.

Not "got knocked out of the Fade", the fade never even happens (so says the combat log). I love that. Bye bye, 5 minute cooldown.

Also, DoT's totally ruin your day. And anything ranged. I've successfully used it as an aggro dump on many-a boss fight, especially on that second boss in Heroic Mech, where it's really easy to over- aggro (Oops 17k pyro lawlz). It's great when it works, infuriating when it doesn't.

Generally, I can see most "invisible" mobs when I'm invisible (and they can see me). I can see those Succubi in Acratraz, but not the invisible undead guys in that one Aucheindon instance. Which is wierd, because some of the non- invisible mobs have a "detect invisibility" buff that can be stolen, and it also does nothing.

So is that pronounces "p-eye-knee" or "pee-knee?" It ought to be the first one, but if it's the second, you get to jump to peenor which will have Rent's attention all day long.

Got my druid into Kara last night, though not the way I expected. Only one of our main healers showed up last night, I offered to respec resto, even if my healing gear isn't that great (~850 +heal) so the raid wouldn't be called off.

Snagged the Gloves of Dextrous Manipulation & the Earthsoul Leggings, plus the tanking Violet Signet. I have to run through later & finish the quests though.

On the Stormstrike battlegroup we win 70%ish. I've seen maybe 1 or 2 losses out of a 100 where the Horde were flawless. The remaining 98% of their losses come from someone fearbombing them into Marshals.

On Shadowburn it's a rare thing if the horde win. I would say that the alliance lose maybe one out of every seven or eight games, and that's usually the result of getting to the frostwolf keep and not having someone who can fucking tank properly.

I think the problem with AV is that the horde try to use the same strategy as the alliance (i.e., race), and it doesn't work, because the alliance have better choke points. When really, horde just need to use a different strategy.

One team I was on got absolutely stomped by a horde team that had ten or so people on defense, and had the rest of their offense go slowly. They took Stonehearth, but then rather than race from there, they hung out in the field of strife and killed off any alliance stragglers who were trying to get down to the IB graveyard. Eventually the alliance offense petered out and they won pretty easily, although it took longer than most easy alliance wins that I've seen.

When people don't realize that they can bypass the other teams horde of offense just by running as a spirit to a usable graveyard, they become little more then HKs for the other teams offense. Unless they can effectively help on defense. (A warrior who catches a healer with a intimidating shout at the right time, or a mage who is able to sheep the guy tanking long enough for the general to kill a healer or two, and other things equally annoying to the opposing team.)

I haven't done AV in 7 or 8 months, but I do remember that I loved trying to tank Drek, and hated it when the Horde knew to harrass us during the pulls. And knew to harrass as we were trying to kill Drek.

I used to love doing that on my mage. I remember a couple of AVs where we had some priests, some druids, and a mage or two in drek's room, and we'd make the alliance pay everytime they tried to pull one of his lieutenants.

(One time, we were making them take so long, that the lieutenants respawned twice).

After 27 levels without an epic mount, I finally got it last night! Horde won 8/12 AV's, and I now sit on my new Black Raptor.

PS - I think I have my tanking rotation down... at 67 tanking Vann nobody could pull him off me. Though I'm pretty sure the healers were weeping trying to keep me up... good times.

700 rep for exalted tanking ring from Kara. Which is a big deal for me because I took the resto ring way back when we started Kara. It's a nice big upgrade from the ring from the guy in Durn.

I'm also a few days away from the Ring of Unyielding Force.

Both will replace the ring from the Durn boss (I have 2).

Now for for an adamantium figurine so I can start replacing clefthoof with those 390 armor boots from Kara as well, and trade my green +def cloak with a Thoriumweave cloak.
