I wish there was a tactic (maybe it comes later on?) for Rogues that says, Get BEHIND Allistair's target and attack.
I'm always repositioning that mexican elf. And he sucks at opening locks too, that's the only damn reason he's there and not my Dog! Grrrrrrrrrrrr. He just dinged for hte first time, so I added points into the lock picking and cunning, so hopefully he'll be more useful now.
Hey, I still can't figure out how to put revival in a tactic. Wish there was ally -> status -> pwned or maybe ally -> hp -> fucked.

You don't any new options for tactics, except for the obvious new skills you acquire. I thought that the rogues should try and attack from behind automatically, but apparently thats not the case.

You really shouldn't be reviving more than once (maybe twice) a battle anyway. Unless there are some obnoxiously long battles that I haven't gotten to yet. I wouldn't use a tactics slot there. Revival has like a 2 minute cooldown doesn't it?

Yup, 2 minutes; you wouldn't want computer to throw out the revive while there is still something spawn camping the body.
Sweet, it worked. Thanks Rami. Only bad thing is that the stupid memory band is blank and has no stats, but I can't be bothered troubleshooting for one mediocre ring. OFF TO EAT MANS
I'd have to boot the game up to double check, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any stats. You can just tell that you get a 1% XP bonus from the flavor text on the item.
Unless you are saying there's no flavor text, in which case, whoops.

Meh, I know. But it would still be nice for it to auto since I'm too busy being a complete whore with my Rogue. I've even gotten to the point where I time my stuns to interrupt spells.
So I finally started last night, and I am absolutely loving it. I'm just wondering if you can have more than one specialization on a character at a time? Like if my guy was a Berserker and I wanted to make him a Champion as well, would that be possible? Or would I have to choose one or the other.

You get one specialization point at 7 and one at 14, so you can have at most two specializations. This goes for party members as well, they'll get a second specialization point to spend at 14.
Or in Sten's case a first specialization point since he's a horrible loser who doesn't start with a specialization unlike everyone else.
I'm not sure I want to know how many hours I've spent on this over the past few days. I've only got the Dwarves left to recruit before I am ready for the Landsmeet.
Still, got some sidequests in Denerim to do.. and that dragon near Haven..
Did anyone else see that you can by Wintersbreath from a merchant and the "unique" staff you get from the WK DLC is called Winter's Breath?
As it turns out the DLC staff is worse than it's sold counterpart but actually cost real money to obtain. They are exactly the same except the one from the shopkeeper has an extra +2 to magic.
I normally like to start with a good aligned character (party 1) however I noticed some people have said that being a rogue gets you the best dialog options so I'm tempted to go party 2 first.
Also what would be another good companion for party 2? I was thinking Oghren might be good. Are these parties decently balanced?
Thanks

How did they overlook something like that?
Well, the DLC was created by a separate team, and I guess it's possible that those guys were not aware that they were basically copying an item that's already in-game.
Reading through my codex last night, I noticed that both Entropy and Creation are described as being the second school of Matter. How could the writers miss such a thing? Pre-order cancelled!

Man, I'm embarrassed by how much these Darkspawn still give me trouble sometimes. I'll be like "oh genlocks! ha!" and then I'll be like "Oh fifteen genlocks... ha?" And then I'll be like "Fireball/deathcloud/stinging swarm/glyphs of paralysis/life drain? Oh god emissary."
Though in a recent fight I had the awesome moment of Waking Nightmare working on two emissaries. They killed their entire retinue with death clouds and fireballs while I booked it out of there to leave them to it.
Firstly, Morrigan. What. The. Fuck? I seduced Morri in my Dwarf Noble game, and come to find she wants me to be the father of Damien??! Then leaves me when I rightly refuse?
Morrigan was my attack mage, someone whom I've had in my party since I've gotten her. To have her fuck off right before the last battle because I didn't want to be the father of an Old God was a infuriating, Thankfully at least I had the armies to call upon.
Secondly, the Archdemon fight was disturbingly easy with all the Ballista emplacements, as well as calling upon the Circle of Magi, then the Elves when the Magi died.
Still, I'm content. Mostly because my Aeducan name was restored and I was laid to rest next to my father and declared a Paragon post-mortem.
I've been playing my sabbity rogue so far with two daggers, to take advantage of the broken str+dex damage durrrr, and Im wondering if it would be better for my damage if I went went a longsword and a dagger?

The DLC one isn't worse! It has more Ice DMG on it. For an ice based mage I think it's a bit better.

No it isn't, at least the ones i have are both dragonbone and are identical, except for the +stat.

Do you have Lethality?
If you do, the bigger the weapon the better from my experience. The only exception is for slots or big backstab bonuses. I've got a Crow dagger in my off hand for that reason.
So i got to the merchant in Loithering again, I got the 2 backpacks from the quartermaster in Ostagar as usual, but now for some reason the merchant in Loithering doesnt have one, i've tried doing persuade (which worked before) intimidate and even scaring the nuns away, no dice. Any suggestions ?

Depends on how rich you want to be. I'm getting along fine without it.

God I love Waking Nightmare. I'm not sure how powerful it is compared to other CC, but it's hilariously fun. There's just something great about causing a group of enemies to turn on each other while you're beating down one of their friends. It's not as good as Sleep in terms of being great pure CC (smaller radius, does some odd things, slightly easier to resist), but combined with Sleep it's really fun, and quite powerful against really large groups of enemies.

I have it, because I take Liliana with me everywhere I go (a hand tuned, re-specced Liliana who actually puts out quite a bit of damage). So far, just by looking at the kind of money people were talking about having at my point in the game, I am quite a bit richer because of lock picking. It's completely empirical, there could be a thousand reasons I have more money at this point in the game than others seemed to, but I think being able to get all the locked chests help.
If I had to put a gold figure on it, over the course of the game (I'm probably 15-20% complete at this point, in terms of the main story), I'd guess lock picking has accounted for 10-15g of my 50g stash.

I honestly don't know if there's one in Lothering, but if there is, and the merchant outside doesn't have it, try the guy in the bar.

Not as PC trait, no. Leliana (spelled it right, I'm done pissing people off) has the lock-picking skill anyway so you could use her but there's not ahuge amount of stuff in chests anyway. I do have Leliana as a permanent addition to my party but more for thieving skills. There really needs to be more repercussions for your actions.
Circle of Magi stuffs!
I just completed the Circle of Magi as a mage and loved how it differed to my previous Elf male run through. Only quest left there is the one to do with the tomes and finding some dodgy character. No idea where I'm supposed to go.
I've been poor the whole game - its starting to annoy me. All of my characters are at least 1-2 tiers of armor and weapon below what is available because I can't afford to buy anything. I never have more than 2-3g, and the only thing I ever buy is weapons and armor when I can afford it - money seems to just be extremely hard to get in this game. It doesn't help that I stopped bringing a rogue with me recently so I have to ignore all the locked chests either, but even before that I was short on money. Alistair is still in heavy armor because I can't afford any massive armor for him yet at level 12.

I love using it on archers, and watching them start shooting at their allies.
Or even better, a group of two will pull swords and turn on the third archer.
