What is a good recount-style addon that can track absorptions and break down how much of my healing and absorption each of the spells I cast and procs I receive do?

So annoying.
Get used to it - DKs were doing that since day one with Death Grip. Hell they were doing it pre-day one in the beta.
I'm on a rp server, and a couple years ago this one "roleplaying add on" was highly in vogue. It had a default setting that caused warlocks to /y I AM SUMMONING A STEED FROM NIGHTMARE!
Every single time they mounted up. I used to mock people ruthlessly for it, the typical response I got was something along the lines of "I hate it too but I don't know how to turn it off."
Oh really? How about uninstalling the retarded ass mod and doing your own goddamn roleplaying.
Recount has one, but I think you need an add-on for absorption. Recount also gives you a break down in a seperate window.
Skada (i think it is called) is another that does absorption but doesn't give you a break down. Told that one is nice if you want to watch your UI memory consumption.

I want to say it was Necrosis. It was pretty easy to change what you said if you looked, if I'm remembering correctly.

Skada took some getting use to for me. The 3-4 step process to link a meter to someone is kind of a pain. Now that I am a little more familiar with it, it's fun, but the learning curve is a little more than than 'fire-and-forget-it' recount.

Becuase the mod did alot more than that, it also auto-deleted soul shards after you hit a specified number, notified you of nightfall procs and when your target was in drain soul execute range.
But the announcements werne't hard to turn off, anyone that was smart enough to install it, should have been smart enough to see the set up.

Skada is great for estimating absorbs with healing, but your right, it doesn't give you a nice graph to look at after the fight to see what made up your healing and what targets you healed, etc.
But it is also is a much lower strain on memory than recount.

Whats a good opening rotation for Shadow? Whats the best/fastest way to get your 5 stack?
VT -> DP -> MB -> Mindflay (clip it if you are confident with your latency/timing but really its not worth it) then throw up the SWP. By this time all the relevant buffs should be up. Remember that % multipliers aren't refreshed by mindflay but straight spellpower boosts (trinket procs etc) are. If you need to run in at the start of the fight you might reverse VT and DP if it helps with the movement.
So I need some advice from disc priests who know. I just got my little priest to level 60 and dual specced him disc. I have levelled as shadow so I don't have any experience healing on him. I did a Ramparts group and it went very smooth and easy, but I want to make sure I'm doing it right.
Shields all over the place
Flash heal spam
Penance any time it's off CD and somebody needs a bigger heal than a flash
Use borrowed time to shield -> PoH when I need a group heal
Is that it at level 60? I know when I get Prayer of Mending I will keep that going at all times too, but am I right in thinking that renew and greater heal are basically not used? I could see doing a borrowed time greater heal if you needed an absolute bomb but I don't see much use for renew, unless you just wanted to pre load HoTs in a 5 man or something, but then you could just shield everybody.

It sounds like you've got the hang of this, it would help if you linked your build. I respecced into Disc in the mid 70's so I'd need to look at what you have right now to give any real advice.
One thing I will say right off the bat, is not to remove Greater Heal from your bar entirely. There will be the occasion where a borrowed time + greater heal is the thing you need to do.
-edit-
I tend to renew quite a bit, but that's mainly for convenience/not having enough to do with my mana. It's not an especially mana-efficient or effective spell for disc priests.
Renew can be a huge help once you get better-geared and mana isn't such a huge issue.
As far as Greater Heal is concerned, there's never been a time, whether in 5-mans or in raiding, that I could've cast a GH in time to be effective. Penance would've at least done two ticks of healing to the target, Flash Heal would've gotten some done, but GH would've seen the target either dead or healed to full by something else by the time it completed its cast.
It's still on my bar, just in case, but that case hasn't managed to crop up yet. I don't have the cast time reduction talented, so there's little point.

You guys have just had better luck than me then. I've had to use GH on bear tanks before, bottomless health pits that they are, and then there was the time in 25-man ToC where the jackass raid leader decided that I should heal off all the incinerate flesh debuffs. Just me. All by myself.
So yes, ideally you shouldn't have to use GH, ever. But never rule out the incompetence of those around you.
Here is my armory if anybody wants to give pointers on the spec: Ashdorien armory
I just put my point at level 61 into renewed hope, planning to fill that out, then grace, then aspiration, then go into the holy tree for the points there. I use grid and clique, so it was no problem to keep renew/GH bound to some ctrl-clicks for possible use, since for the most part all I'm using is PW:S, flash, and penance. I must say though after always tanking on my Warrior/Paladin and then DPSing on my Lock, healing is a very fun change of pace. It's a totally different ball game. I've been running Ramps and BF like crazy, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far.

I almost want to say go for the first 5 points in Holy (+crit) before Aspiration, but YMMV. A lot of disc functions off of getting those crits, though more frequent Penance is obviously very desireable.

Yeah, I was actually thinking about that after I looked at the points. That free crit in the holy tree would be nice to have already, though so far(Ramps/BF) have been a complete snoozefest for the most part. The only time I have even had to actually heal and not just shield the tank on trash has been when it's a tank that pulls 2 or 3 groups.
Yeah, even with them. I had one ramps group that was me healing and 4 DKs. The one who was tanking said he was new at it and to go easy on him, and he was actually doing a good job, but 1 of the other DKs named Deathcoil with a funny character was DPSing in frost presence and death gripping mobs every pull and trying to solo them, lol. The tank DK told him he needed to change from frost to blood presence and he was like "Why? Frost is good. You're using it....." He did actually switch and did okay. He really just seemed like he didn't even realize that in 5 mans you don't just each solo down your own mob. Even that group I barely had to heal.

Grace is really important too though, it's one of those things that you don't really notice working but when you think about chaining flash heals and how much that extra healing adds up to over the course of a boss fight it's a substantial bonus.

I was actually curious about that talent. Does it reset every time you cast a new heal on a different person? Like if I cast flash heal x3 on the tank, they would have the full stack, but then if I flash heal myself would it go off the tank and then go on me 1 stack, then if I heal a dpser they now have 1 stack? I know the tooltip says it can only be on one person, so I'm just wondering exactly how it works.
I was amazed to learn that a very significant amount of my Disc Priest's healing (in the form of mitigation) came from Divine Aegis. You know, that little shield that pops up when you crit heal on someone? It frequently counts for 25-30% of my total healing in an encounter.
Crit is huuuuuuge for a Disc Priest.

Yeah, once you've taken care of your regen needs (through overpowered trinkets or a combination of int/spirit), the best things you can stack are spellpower then crit.
I like to use inner fire to proc a huge shield off a gheal + a normal bubble for large spikes i know are coming. I know the overheal is ridiculous, but fuck it, its free.
Edit err inner focus.... THE ONE THAT MAKES MAH HANDS TURN BLUE! GAWD.
I keep forgetting to use Inner Focus, mainly because I never come anywhere close to needing to use it for mana purposes. I keep forgetting it also boosts crit chance.
I'm beginning to think I have a wee bit too much mana regen. I need to figure out whether to start focusing on throughput instead. I gem almost nothing but Spellpower.

Well, sort of. It can actually be very nice in raids for disc, because if you hit a shield and penance immediately after, your Borrowed Time will still be in effect for a Greater Heal cast. That's two very good single-target heals in very little time. It still isn't enough to make us the tank healers we were in Ulduar, not even close (druids and shaman can beat us at tank heals) but it does make us very useful at backing up and helping out existing tank heals while shielding the raid.
ICC boss battles are mostly crazy enough that what you want to be doing can change throughout the battle, and I personally like having the ability to send off a massive heal in very little time over 10% damage reduction for very specific abilities.
Yeah, I dunno, the idea that there are some spells that you shouldn't use it dumb IMO. If you think you need to use a gheal, use it. Just try to get it to where you are making use of your other benefits while doing it like Cilla said with borrowed time.
Koro, I found that with as many spells that I cast, ie lots of shield, every penance hit, flash heals, POM - Anything that refunds mana on spell cast is the tits. I love it, i use darkglow embroidery on my cloak despite what anyone else says, that shit goes off all the time with the sheer amount of crap I cast. and I gem the refund meta over the %2 int, i don't ever feel like I have a mana problem. Besides we have shadow fiend, and hymn of hope, AND you can work out a deal with a druid to trade power infusions for innervates.
I can honestly say I've probably used Inner Focus less than 10 times in all my days as a priest. Remembering to hit use-abilities just isn't my strong suit. That macro idea is good, but I don't know if there is a way for me to assign a clique combination to a macro. I only ever cast heals through clique, sooo
I use grid/clique, but I have mouseover macros for PS and PI because I keep them on my bars for watching the CDs. I also use inner focus constantly. I love chilling and letting the tank get low enough that I know my inner focused penance is going to top him right back up.

A druid that can use Power infusion (read: moonkin) shouldn't really need innervate anyway. Maybe in a really long battle, but they'd have enough time for two casts during it anyway.
But I didn't realize people were using something other than darkglow embroidery anyway. It's way better than the haste enchant (ICC gear has shitloads of haste, and disc sees serious reductions in the usefulness of haste over 11%. I'm at 19%. >.> ) and I thought BiS.
To me, one of the ways disc shines is in saving people from an oh-shit situation. A smart shielder with an itchy penance finger can make the difference between losing one or two critical players in a bad situation.
I know people are constantly saying how such and such shouldn't happen in an ideal environment, but there are no ideal environments. Anywhere. Paragon doesn't have them for any of their encounters, and neither do you. (you in the general sense, not you directly unsalted) People mess up, we're only human, and disc priests are seriously awesome at keeping a small mistake from ruining a boss fight.
Holy priests have a pretty small amount of overhealing if they're done properly. (though what is "proper" depends on encounters and gear of course) It is anything but wasteful.
