I was sitting on my bed, playing Nostalgia on the DS while waiting for my sister to arrive home with dinner (Taco Hell) and I head a large truck pull up to the curb of my house. I paused the game as I heard the door-bell ring. It was a box! A box with my name on it! I thought, at first, that it was my sister's gift; but then I looked at the name and where it came from. The name and location sounded very familiar, but I still squeed 'cause it could mean only one thing. Santa came by 15 days early!

Going into my room, I ripped open the box and received a letter with my house (via GoogleMaps) on it.

A small but nice letter explaining that Santa was at my house to deliver the box AND to inform me that he lived an hourish away from one of my favourite places ever (no, NOT Seattle) DISNEYLAND! I, of course, automatically giggled with glee. Took out the newspaper wrappings--which had a nice article about Peter Jackson--and BAM! I was welcomed by the PINK and RED of Disney. PINK would be of the Disney Princesses and the RED of the Disney Store bag. And then BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! SIX AWESOME Disney-Related gifts! In the bottom of the Disney Store bag, though, was something a bit heavy and hand-sized. Grabbing this thing out of the bag, I was slapped by Edward Cullen's face. At first, I cackled; but then looking at the wrapper, it stated "Creme-Filled Milk Chocolate Heart." (Which I am eating while typing this!)

As I was getting ready to sort out the gifts to take a picture of, I noticed something blue and not newspaper-like in the box. There was one more gift?!? Yes, there was. I find it the awesomest of all. Now, a good amount of you know that I do not like reading AND also know that I have a fascination with nautical sort (or if you didn't know either, you do now!) so, this one last gift was a book. Not just any book. But Creatures of the Deep Sea. And again, not just any book--A POP-UP BOOK! The five-year-old in my giggled like a little girl!

    So, the gifts?

Someone, I do not know presicely who (and perhaps that is the great mystery of this whole thing) has granted unto me a beard; an epic beard, made of win!
    P1050209.jpg

Now I genuinely don't know who this is from. The only name i got was the name of the shop it was bought from on etsy. So it is entirely possible that I am on the wrong board thanking the wrong person for this most wonderful gift. But on the off chance that I'm not, let me simply say to my Sekret Santa thank you very much for this gift, it is six kinds of awesome, I am wearing it as I type this (or as you are reading it). ;D

    Cheerio!

Thanks time cruiser Mike! I always liked that show because I thought it was about my college town. I later realized it's about every college town. Time to relive some old memories this weekend!

Oh, that was me. I shipped it directly from etsy, so there was no place for me to put a note. Didn't think it would get there so fast.

And yes, the moment I saw that beard on your amazon wishlist I knew it was what I was going to buy. It just spoke to me, fundamentally.

    Merry Christmas :D

So my wife picked me up from work today, and in my seat was a package.

"Who the hell do you know in New York?"

I had no clue, so I figured it must be my secret santa gift!

    Lo and behold

The picture is kinda blury, that is caffeine in powder form (came in the nicely packaged NOT ANTHRAX envelope") with a basic recipe to use it in

Your letter mentioned caffeine 3-4 times, but you weren't very specific, so I figured I'd just hit the most general target I could think of.

My holiday plans changed, and I will be gone all next week. So if my Sekrit Santa hasn't sent it, I can provide an address that I will be for most of the week. But if it's already been sent and is just going really slow, that's fine too, as my neighbors will steal all my mail, then return it all smashed and pissed on.

Glad you like them! I went over your old forum posts to find the size shirt that you wear (you mention "Medium" in a post on the old West-Coast Train Trip '09 thread). I hope that it fits!

There's one more package coming, but it's shipped by a third-party and not Amazon directly so you probably won't get it until Friday.

    Merry Christmas!

In a year I'll be able to do this, and look forward to my own surprises. But either way, I'll just take this chance to wish you all a Cheerful Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Fine Festivus, Kooky Kwanzaa, and all analogs therein.

I think I might possibly win at gift getting this year:

    A. Because this is awesome
    B. Because it came at a pretty low point in my life and really cheered me up
    C. A christmas poem to the tune of I Am The Walrus

Although, it would be better if it had Cuzza's mug on there. Damn you Aussie!!!! :p

    By popular demand...the Poem
Sitting on a mountain waiting for the Santa to come
    Corporation holiday, stupid fancy Tuesday
Man you been a red sleigh. You let your beard grow long.
I am the Santaman, they are the Santamen
I am the reindeer, goo goo goo ring-a-ding

Mister City santa flying, pretty jolly santas in a row
See how they fly like Lucy in the gift, see how give
    I'm Santa, I'm Santa
    I'm Santa, I'm Santa

Yellow matter gift dripping from a cheerful god's chimney
    Crabalocker fishwife Christmas priestess
Boy you been a red Santa, you let your beard down
I am the Santaman, they are the Santamen
I am the reindeer, bloop bloop bloop joob

Sleeping in a Christmas garden waiting for the Santa
    If the Santa don't come
You get a tan from flying in the Christmas rain

After being berated on Twitter to accept my Steam friend requests I went home to open Steam and set it to launch on start-up. Later, as I checked my email, I discovered, not one, not two, but four (4) Steam gifts had been awarded to me by the kind and gracious eye-shuh. Attached with these came a cryptic message:

    Ian (DaNerd),

Heehee, I couldn't wait till after work...Happy Holidays! I'm your Sekrit Santa. :) And now you have no excuse not to play Killing Floor with me next month! XD

    Ker Blam,

Now I know little about Killing Floor, but I've heard great things and I'm excited to try it once holiday craziness dies down.

Thanks for the great gifts eye-shuh, you're a great Santa!!

P.S. In addition to Killing Floor I've been gifted two character packs for the aforementioned game as well as Torchlight, which is hours of my life waiting to be sucked away if I hear correctly.

So, as I posted earlier, I was gone all this week. I had my address that I would be at this week forwarded to my santee, not sure if it had been sent or not. Since I never got anything while at aunt and uncle in Phoenix, I arrived home to a 3 pound box sitting inside our hall (we had a neighbor taking care of the house). I recognized the name instantly, so I knew immediately what it was.

In the well packed box was this stuff:

    To my secret santa:

You don't know who you are yet, but you haven't received your gift. That's because I haven't received your gift yet, and I have to re-send it, because I have to put more stuff in the box. Rest assured, I'm doing everything in my power to get it to you by the 10th, or sooner. And rest assured, it's epic. There was hoop jumping involved to get you this box of goodies, and I'm not even finished yet.

So if there's anyone out there who didn't get their secret santa box yet, you might just be getting a New Year's gift instead of a Christmas gift. It will be worth the wait.
