Ok aside from the ipod/itunes sucks....i'm wondering a few things.
-My wife and i have multiple ipods and multiple computers.
-Lets says her computer (a macbook) is comp "A"...my computer is a pc and comp "B"
Her ipod is synced to the mac and i have 2 synced to the PC
We have one itunes account (under my e-mail).
So here's the questions..
She's purchased a few albums and songs under our account on the Mac so she can put them on her ipod. There's a few on there that i want, but i want my ipod synced to the PC.
Are the songs she downloaded (as in legally purchased) linked to only her comp or our itunes account?
Can i just go onto itunes and redownload them on the pc without getting charged?
Do i have to burn them to a cd from the mac then put them on the pc?
Am i just screwed?
If she's purchased stuff that is limited to one comp i'm just gonna tell her to go back to CDs since they're both usually about $10

The simplest way to get music from one computer to the other is to just throw it on a USB stick and copy it into the music folder on the other computer. Because it's all on the same iTunes account, iTunes will be fine with you doing that.
If you don't have a USB stick, you can do it with a CD, but actually burn the files onto the CD outside of iTunes. iTunes lets you burn your music to audio CDs, but again there's a limit to how often each track can be burnt to a CD (I think it's three times), so you don't want to make an actual audio CD, you just want to transfer those files (yay for DRM! Sometimes I think I might just start buying my audio via Amazon as it's cheaper and DRM free and will still work in iTunes).
You could also transfer them onto your iPod and then transfer them from that into iTunes although I think you either need to use third party software to do that or synch your device, I'm not sure and I prefer to turn off synching because it just sucks and I prefer to manually transfer tracks onto my iPhone in iTunes.
If you don't own a USB stick, buy one because seriously just buy one they make life better and they are cheap. If you won't, then depending on what sort of iPod you have you can use it as a USB stick. Older ipods can be set to disc mode which means they will work just like a USB hard drive when plugged into a PC or Mac (I used to use this to run EV Nova at work directly off my old Gen 1 iPode). If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone you can download software via the app store that will allow you to use your device as a wireless storage device (requires that your computers have wifi naturally) and you can use that to copy the files onto your device and then onto the other computer.
Or you could try using something like Dropbox or yousendit.com etc. to throw the files up into the cloud and then back down onto the other computer.
But really, just get a USB stick, maaaaan.
But still buy a USB stick, it will come in handy for something else.
Are you sure you're using the Home Sharing and not just the folder sharing feature? Folder sharing is an older feature that would let you play music from other people's iTunes on your network but not copy the files.
There's no inherent reason why it shouldn't work from Mac to PC beyond 'Apple can be dicks sometimes'. Make sure both computers are running iTunes 9, signed in to the same iTunes account and you enable Home Sharing as per the video posted before.
i own
1 macbook
2 iphones
2 120 (newest) ipod
1 5th generation 60g video ipod
2 ipod shuffles
1 ipod mini
1 32g ipod touch
because the only one i have access to where i am is my 5th gen and it's "out of warranty" the customer support would not help me with itunes support till i called back with a device thats under warranty...even though my question had nothing to do with a device.
Edit: Oh, I'm not sure if dragging and dropping is the way to do. I highlighted the desired tracks and then clicked the 'Import' button in the bottom right corner.
