Is that CTV thing region locked? I click it and it just says there are problems loading the video.

Do you have the Silverlight plug in, if not, you need it to use the site.

And, I do not want Gretzky to light the cauldron, he wouldn't be an awful choice, but I'd rather have Terry Fox'es family light the flame.

Yeah, I use Silverlight for Netflix. The thing loads but just comes up with an error

    errorhxz.jpg

Then that changes to say "Video Error We were not able to access your video"

I will say, I know it's a commercial, but damned if the Go World ads aren't the most in-the-spirit-of-the-Games ads ever.

A new version of silverlight was released today I think. Didn't bother installing it because my Netflix works fine.

Yea, seriously, Terry Fox relatives would be a classy move. Guy was a hero.

I liked what Steve Nash had to say about him

I am really wondering where the cauldron is going to be in BC Place, it's an indoor stadium with an air supported roof, so it can't be too tall.

Edit: Hey, neat, Donald Sutherland doing narration.

I've only recently begun to realize that his effect was somewhat national. I grew up near Thunder Bay, and my folks still live there, so I used to see the Terry Fox monument and where his trek ended on a regular basis but always figured he was a regional/local hero.

...well, I guess this is one way to get Haiti involved. Especially because Haiti doesn't have a delegation and didn't even before the earthquake.

Eh, guess I can swap out the Red Cross. Don't know if they've switched focus to their general fund yet; probably best to have one in the sig I know for a fact is concentrating at the moment on Haiti.

Man, CTV hasn't started the opening ceremonies yet. Are they delaying for 15 minutes? They're doing some sort of athlete biography commercial stuff now.

I'm used to it; Versus/OLN does it every year during the Tour de France. They get large chunks of commercials out of the way while nothing of any real circumstance is happening so they can go commercial-free once things pick up towards the end of the stage.

I don't have audio at work, but every time I have looked up at the TV this last hour I haven't seen anything that remotely resembles the opening ceremonies. Over half the time I look up and it is a commercial.
