God what a great game. I feel bad for Heyward for coming close (though I am not sure that half court shot was released in time) but Butler brought a lot more than anyone expected tonight.

I still think Duke had the absolute easiest run to a national championship that I can remember. They didn't beat a single great, healthy team with the possible exception of Butler.

Things would've gone much better if Purdue had Hummel.
I swear to god the day it was announced that he tore his ACL, people just disappeared from campus.
So you'll be able to see every tournament game starting next year (if you have cable).
CBS and Turner Broadcasting will pay at least $10.8 billion to carry the N.C.A.A. men’s basketball tournament through 2024. The field would carry 68 teams if the Division I board of directors approves, an expansion from the current 65 but much smaller than the 96-team field that had been considered.
The games will be shared by one broadcaster, CBS, and three cable networks, TBS, TNT and truTV, the former Court TV network, which is known for its crime programming
Through 2015, CBS will cover the regional finals, the Final Four and the championship game. But starting in 2016, CBS and Turner will split the regional finals and the Final Four, and the national championship game will alternate annually between CBS and TBS.
Good to see that there won't be 96 teams for at least 14 more years, but this deal might shaft people who don't have cable but want to see a certain game. I guess the NCAA will still have March Madness On Demand, though.
68 teams seems like it would bring in more of the major conference bubble teams and force 8 of the automatic bids from shitty conferences to fight for a spot in the real tourney instead of 2

The sad part is I have to put Raftery away until next March.

I wish we could go back to 64 but at least that 96 idiocy will go away now for awhile.
which I guess makes it a stronger field?
that is the one and only reason
