Technically, it's the combination of x4 fire damage and high elemental chance. It might be 'very high' I'm not sure.
That indicator can actually be more important than whether a gun is 2x or 4x.
I've played this game a bunch and I just noticed this weekend that the iv stands in the Crimson fort can be knocked over (near the jail cells). Besides gates and ramps, is there anything else that moves?
So what exactly is so special about Volcano guns? Cos I found a Volcano sniper, level mid-20s, and it FEELS awesome, but I can't quite figure out why.
High damage, high fire damage on what you hit, and high fire damage on things around your main target.

Not to pester whoever runs it too much, but I'd really dig an acceptance to my friend request for the PA group on XBL. It's getting lonely playing by myself, guys, and I'm scared of the general XBL population.
Found an early Eridian weapon in Mad Mel's zone, which I barely spent any time in. It's basically a lightning shotgun? I'm going to use it for a while.
It worked incredibly well when I tried it solo earlier with my Siren with players set to 3. I was overleveled for Krom's Canyon so the quest read Trivial, and yet it ended up being one hell of an epic hit and run fight with the increased difficulty. I also did a Lost Cave run in playthrough 2.5 coop with Curly Haired Boy with players set to 4 and it was also an awesome challenge for us.
My one big problem with Borderlands up until now was that it ends up being way too easy when you overlevel by doing all the quests. This app has made it fun and challenging again for me. I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for an extra challenge. :^:

Some are lightning shotguns, but they all suck for me since I always have "regular" weapons that do the same things just as good or better.

I ended up using the Eridian shotgun and sniper rifle quite a bit with Roland.
Not only are they probably the most useful in terms of their projectiles, but Overload actually works to increase the "clip size" of Eridian weapons.
I've been having such a hard time with the decision between SMGs and Combat Rifles. Having decided that Roland is the only one who should bother with CRs.
Then it dawned on me that I always use a slot for pistols.
Duh, I should use that slot for an SMG on my Roland and forsake PISTOLS! My methodical thought process on weapon loadouts be damned, an action hero doesn't NEED a pistol even if my guts cry out for it. Elemental SMG = Pestilent Defiler. I've no problem with that exchange really.
Now to go butt-fuck nuts and make a new character with this in place. No more goofy proficiency issues for me!
After three nights of extensive testing I have determined this game is incredibly hard to play after half a bottle of good scotch and/or bourbon.

Lies.
Mordern Warfare 2 is incredibly easier after half a bottle of good scotch and/or bourbon because at that point you just no longer care.
Well... ok the game itself isn't easier but due to your degrading ability to understand non drunkanese English the racial slurs and other assorted asshattery that comes through chat and the blatant hackers and glitchers become easier to deal with.
Also Fallout 3. There's something to be said about how drinking good liquor and listening to a 100+ tracklist of oldschool toons somehow making the exploding heads of your enemies feel classy. I don't know what that thing to be said is but it's incredibly accurate whatever it may be.

I wish the consoles had 100+ tracks.
Oh.
Yeah.
It's pretty incredible. My CD collection and thus my iTunes has expanded a surprising amount since I downloaded that mod.
It's really amazing.
...
Seriously pick up a PC version. You can basically play the game all over again as a brand new game.
A few times.
If I were sure there was a God? I'd totally be saying fuck the saints and bless the mod makers instead. :P

I am very glad to hear this. 2.5 added a bit more challenge, but I'd like to get spanked around.
So guys, this game... this game has destroyed time.
The last time I looked at the clock it was like 1 AM.
It's 7 now.
Fuck.
[strike]Also, could someone give me a link to where I can register a gamespy ID? I'm pretty sure I just need to password recovery mine, but I can't find the registration page on the website, and the in-game thing doesn't have password recovery.[/strike] Disregard that, I suck cocks.
I may be echoing something Tycho said, but I don't care - That heroin is illegal and Borderlands is not is a travesty.
Edit: My gamespy ID is kain3k, if anyone wants to do some multiplayer I'd be willing to give it a try.
In similar fashion to the post above, I am dedicating my night to Borderlands and shooting the shit out of, well, shit. Anyone looking to do the same I'll be online around 7ish EST. GT convic nic (in metatag too).
Had an interesting time in my first multi-player game last night, when y'all took me from level 10 to level 17. I'm going to have to try hard to not get used to running in to every situation guns blazing in my campaign now, though.
- I also apologize to whoever I ran into on Vent, I think I heard someone say I was yelling into the mic. I certainly wasn't yelling, and I tested my input in vent, but it's been a long time since I used it so I may need to tweak the settings...
Yeah, GG last night, my first 4 person Borderlands game. I'm terrible at healing teammates (sorry).
Ill get Vent setup for the next game.
Nah, it was pretty good. Definitely reliable enough that whenever I got myself exploded my first instinct was to find you and go hide next to you for a while. :P
Siren is definitely coming together. Looks like this. Now I need to decide whether I want Elemental or Assassin goodies first. Silent Resolve sounds sweet, but might be overkill on the defensive front. In the Elemental tree, I'm undecided on Radiance vs. Intuition. :?:

Now you're talking!
Personally, and I'm in no way saying this is the only way to build, once I topped out the Controller tree, I picked up some Quicksilver (since anything that helps rate of fire helps proc Daze off of Mind Games), and then went Slayer, Enforcer, and High Velocity up the Assassin Tree. You probably won't make it all the way there in Playthrough 1 but it's a nice path to be on.
I was very keen to use Radiance when I was paying with builds (compulsively) before the game came out. Once I got it, though, it ended up being pretty underwhelming sadly.
One other thing is to keep an eye on the skills your class mods are helping. It's sometimes useful to put a single point in skills you would otherwise pass up, if it doesn't take you out of your way, to take advantage of a free 2 or 3 point bump from a class mod.

Haha yeah, I still remember you trying to jump in front of my sniper bullets while I was blissfully ignorant to your situation.
I felt bad for cncaudata tho, poor bastard was always getting knocked around and barely living, then he would have a flurry of Volcano shots erupt around him as I tried to heal him.
Oh, and I noticed after everyone left that I apparently forgot to pick up the artifact after we killed whatshisface. So I gotta do it again. Yay.

Quite possibly my fault -- I think you can lose data if the host logs out before you save/quit.
On another note, have I mentioned how much I love the "No Rest for the Wicked" intro?

On the bright side, I found a cool corrosive rifle.

Somebody posted something a few pages back about a tool that can do it for multiplayer.
why yes, yes there is.

Im looking to play with some PA people today around 4:00, for some underdome riot.
PM me for GT.
Cant wait to roast some skags.

Look a little higher on this page.
That would be cool. I hope Kotaku is on the ball here.
