Could people not die from falling in AC1? I've been sword fighting people off narrow platforms and they fall and just come back at me.
not high enough most likely. or they landed on a platform.
Unbreakablevow, start from the outside and work your way inward. They get much more harder and the last one made me slam my controller into the wall. I have never done that before. ever.
Alright, going to be renting this tomorrow if it's in stock.
Is there anything I should know before I start, like how in the first one you are supposed to talk to people between levels instead of going to bed to get the plot to unravel more?

If there are subtitles, turn them on. There don't seem to be any in AC1, so the Desmond missions are just me hearing garbled plot exposition

The game is very straight-forward in how you are supposed to progress. Story missions are marked with a big black Exclamation on your mini-map. Side missions have other icons. The mission structure in this game is much more akin to that of the GTA games.
so, is there a way for me to check how many feathers in each city ive collected?
i could have sworn there was, i just cant find it
go to dna and move to the right. Do the hustle until you reach feathers in secondary memory. Clcik A/X on it and you'll open a list that shows the areas with the respective feather amounts as well as how many you have from that particular area. Cool beans huh?
And my 32"HDTV has severe burns. Like two big streaks near the middle. only really noticeable during high brightness but still. Its there and it bugs me.
Cool. And yeah, I read about the subtitles in a review somewhere, I love that the game actually has Italian voices. Beautiful language. Looking forward to it.

After many of the story assassinations, Ezio gives a requiem prayer in Italian over the dying victim. It never gets old.
Trialling some enemies, I follow stealthily from the rooftops. Past the guards, I try to leap down to the narrow bridge behind them. I land and roll, but hit O accidentally and full on tackle a nice looking Venetian girl full on. My marks look back at me disdainfully, alert meters rising. Embarrassed and compromised, I slink behind a corner to continue the pursuit.
Is there any sort of final reward for finding all of the Treasure Chests? I mean, I plan on getting them anyway because I'm fairly compulsive about cleaning icons off my mini-map. I plan on 100%ing this game because its so good. But extra goodies for finding stuff is always nice.
For that matter, is there a final in-game reward for all of the Feathers? I know there's a trophy/achievement for that but do you get any sort of item in game for it?
People that complain about not having HD are fucking retarded. I have an old ass 27" 4:3 HDTV (480p), that's my main TV, and I love it to death; but there's a little 19" SD LCD in the back room that I also love. I can game on anything, so long as I can game in the first place.
I think your missing the point. I'm not saying "OMFG BLURRY TEXT DEAL BREAKER SELLING GAME HURF DURF" I'm saying "boy it sure would be spiffy if I could see these hints I'm supposed to be getting for these puzzles." I just assume when you make a game you would test it out on the only variable hardware when it comes to console games, the TV. Test it in SD, HD, different sizes, etc. Or at the very least, think about the fact that not everyone has HD TV's and throw a large text/ low res toggle in one of the settings menu.
Sure, it's the new tech coming out, and developers shouldn't have to slow down progress just for those who hang back. But then again, you want to still make it backwards compatible, considering a large market share still uses the older hardware. It's really not that big of a deal, it was just a mild complaint about the game, so mellow the fuck out a bit, man.
Also, I just beat the game and got the last glyph. Mind blown.
yeah i have to say the text is unreadable, and since i do most of my gaming while people sleep the awful sized subtitles make it hard to follow the story sometimes

Yes for the feathers, no for the treasure. I'd check back in once you have 50, or so I've been told.
I can't fucking find any of the major buildings without walking around the goddamn city looking for them. Looking up things in the database and seeing that there's a glyph I need to find is easy...but for whatever reason there's no way to mark the map or see the name of these locations without walking to each of them.
Or is there? Have I missed something, or am I supposed to somehow remember where all these places are hours after I've been to them?
Mega uber spoilers, don't click unless you've beaten the game/ gotten the Truth stuff done:
Is it just me or does it sound like this whole thing is leading towards the 2012 end of the world crap? It seemed pretty obvious to me a few times.
Also, I liked the take on Adam and Eve. Futuristic and such. I thought the whole thing was an interesting take on religion.
Also, Minerva looking into the camera was bad ass as shit, and sent a chill up my spine. It was well played.
Also, I like this game. GOTY.
No it's not just you. That's exactly what it is leading towards. The first game references it. In fact that's when the game takes place, sometime around september or early october, I thought I read somewhere the first game takes place in September 2012.
AC2 even further references it (or confirms the reference) that unless Desmond does something to stop Abstergo it will happen again.
Is the game locking up at random times for anyone else on the 360? It's happened to me 4 or 5 times now.
Yeah it was constantly locking up for me on thursday, but I think that it had something to do with the PS3 update since it's been smooth for me since then. So, no, I guess that doesn't really answer your question
I don't get the Ford one. At all. The wheel glyph. The other ones were simple. This one...no fucking clue. I thought it was 1 = a dot and 3 = a line, but that's not the case.

There's a number in one of the pictures and one of the symbols in another.

Match the symbol on the newspaper one to 2
What? I don't see a symbol or number in any of those pictures except for the newspaper.

Yeah. I about shit myself as soon as I realized she was looking directly into the camera. And when I saw her image, I instantly recognized the shadowy figure from the Truth video.
I mean by now I've looked up the answer but even looking at the solution, that puzzle seriously makes no fucking sense.
SPOILERS, DON'T LOOK HERE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE PUZZLE I'M TALKING ABOUT:
That makes no fucking sense. He has the right idea as I did on the number wheel; 1 dot = 1, 1 line = 3, and so on. So where the fuck did he get the idea to put those symbols in? That doesn't correspond to 139; that is 795.
Alright... just put the wife to bed. I'm gonna put in a good 2-3 hours of this before I hit the hay as well.
Additionally, I know that AC1 came first, but I only played a little before becoming bored with the repetition, so I can't comment authoritatively on this, but AC2 reminds me A LOT of Infamous. It's better, and I suppose all "super-climber-parkour-kill-people" games will have similar elements, but I noticed a lot of like gameplay components.
Infamous probably cribbed them from AC1, but I played Infamous a heck of a lot more than AC1.

HOW TO SOLVE
you were right, it is a base 3 system. a dot is 1, and a line is 3
so 5 would be |••, and 9 is |||
then, just match the numbers they give you, and try every combination, incrementing each digit by one each time. make sure that they dont give you red herring symbols. it will not take more than ten tries.
the reason they give you the wheel is to rotate the outer ring to match the symbols for reference

You have to align the wheel so the symbol shown on the clues is on 1, then just decode it.

no, they did, I just think it has to be from a decently high height.

It was just so unexpected.
They basically boil down to "HOLY FUCK EZIO IS COMING TO RUIN OUR SHIT, RUN AWAY!"
I think this game is getting to me.

I never asked for this!
I think it just bothers me because the other number puzzles could be looked at and solved in one go.

The trick is the wheel is always preset so 1 is on the symbol for 1. Its more about figuring the patern to the symbols.
I never asked for this!
Why would you click it when I labeled it as a spoiler?
wait
the symbol they show is for eight
and the solution is 1=7
I mean, I'm not against replaying it. But still, it's a nice feature.
