Sending 360 in for repairs, what do I need to send with?

As the title. I bought this thing last spring and I got 3 lights last week. I go to the xbox website and enter my serial number for the automated repair and it tells me that the 3 year warranty ended in April, which would have been less than a year after I bought it. Am I fucked because I bought some model that's been sitting in a storage closet for 2 years or what?

I'm looking for the receipt now, but this is really annoying me.

Found the receipt. Bought it last March. So less than a year, as I suspected.

Upon three more readings of the warranty and repair information I can see that it's as ambiguous as they can possibly make it, so the warranty may still apply. Anyone know?

When you call turn your phone volume all the way up. The guy I talked to spent the whole time nearly whispering. That phone number is mostly robotic. It takes forever to get to a person.
I've been trying to get someone to straighten out my situation for a few days. Mine went RROD of death on Tuesday and I still can't get Microsoft to give me a shipping label so I can send it back to them so they'll repair it. So frustrating.

I fell prey to the same misconception too. What's expired is your 1 year standard warranty. The RROD is still covered. When you go to the repair page at www.xbox.com there will be a drop down menu. Select RROD and it should change the form accordingly. I got all the way to disputing my warranty expiration with a rep before this was pointed out.

The form has been filled out. Now I just need to figure out how to print this shipping label and wait for the package.

I would have just called earlier but they've set up a "we can't help you if your 360 has been banned" loop and I'm not going to sit on hold and listen to that for 30 minutes.

You can also elect to have them mail you the shipping label as well if you don't have a printer or the label paper.

Mine 3 ringed recently (the day MW2 came out, heartbreaking), and when I got the label in my e-mail, I just printed it on normal paper and just taped it to the box. Also, they won't be sending you a package. They had failed to tell me this, and I had to find out when I called them. They told me they don't send a box anymore, you have to provide your own. I thought that was pretty lame.

Bumping because now I need to know this.

I'm not sending any pads, but do they need all my cables? I hope I can still find the VGA cable. How about the HDD? Do they need that, or can I keep it to use with another 360 while I wait.

Keep your cables, HDD, Faceplate, Controllers, Everything that isn't the plain old box.

You'll probably get a box back with a faceplate. This means you can have fun painting or doing whatever to your old one.

This. I just got mine back from repair, and you'll want to ONLY send the xbox itself. Keep anything, including the faceplate. Mine took about a week and a half total to get back, and they ended up sending me a replacement unit. That was great since the disc drive in mine was dying.

Hmm. This may be a problem because my powerbar seems to be fucked as well. I wonder where I can get a replacement for that.

Dunno if this has changed or it's only dependent on how many times you've sent your 360 off for repairs but the second time I sent mine in I was instructed to send the power brick in as well as the console proper. Make sure you follow Microsoft's instructions to the letter and contact them if anything is unclear.
