The Daily Show/Colbert Report thread about fake news and I guess The Onion too

So basically, The Daily Show has really been fucking amazing lately
the interview with Joe Biden this week was great
Jon laying into Lou Dobbs was wonderful
Colbert is consistently terrific and has really come to own his character exquisitely. He talked Woody Harelson into letting him shave his head on camera.
Personally I find Colbert a lot more entertaining that Jon Stewart. Not that I don't like the Daily Show, but satire tickles me in a way that TDS's more straightforward brand of comedy doesn't. Also the correspondents on TDS have been pretty lame lately.

I feel just the opposite. I like Colbert, but he always plays the same shtick whereas Stewart isn't just playing a character so I find him more clever and amusing.
also, man, when jon drops the schtick and really goes into an interview, he's fucking fantastic
and the fact that he can really say whatever he wants is great
for instance
the other night, some dickfuck conservative pundit was talking about "liberals" and how they don't have many children and how they "don't allow down's syndrome to happen"

and jon's reply was "Go fuck yourself"
which is really all it deserved
Wait, wait, wait... can you provide me a link? I need to witness this thing you speak of. This thing of beauty.

it was in the beginning of one of the shows from this week
When they replaced Craig Killborn with Jon Stewart I was pretty upset about it at first. Looking back I'm pretty glad it happened!
I think the last time I watched Craig Killborn's late night show was also the only time.

Jon Stewart kicks so much arse.
Colbert is funny, but Jon isn't afraid to tell somone to their face that they're a fuckhead, and that I like.
Like that lady he had on about the healthcare bill, and she was all like "Death panels blah blah" and he was all, "Bullshit, here's proof you're lying, let's go to break."
"But wait, I can find it..."
"Yeah good luck with that."

when he had that dick from Mad Money on the show and he straight up annihilated him
that was some of the best television I'd ever seen

That episode needs to go in the library of congress
I saw Jon Stewart give a talk/perform material last year at my school. He is seriously the funniest and most intelligent guy. He did a bit on the loss of childhood innocence that was both funny, insightful, and dawww
Also man, look at some of the guests that Jon gets. The Vice President, foreign leaders & dignitaries, media moguls.
People that the other news networks can't get.
And Colbert's charity work is amazing.

the other night with Lou Dobbs when Dobbs said "I think you're one of the most intelligent, smartest..." and Jon just kind of stopped him and made them both savor that moment

My favourite one that he did recently was him completely parodying Glenn Beck, complete with chalkboard

it was amazing how quickly he turned that arrogant prick into an apologetic mess
I think the thing that I really respect the most about Jon Stewart is that all satire aside, when he gets some dillhole to sit down face to face with him, he will straight up ask them to their face the actual tough questions that everyone wished they could ask. Fashioned in a way that there is no ambiguity or misunderstanding on their part of their position, and then he will use facts or their own words to straight up demolish what they just said on national TV.
Smile at the TV because everyone in the world now knows without a doubt that you are a giant piece of self serving shit, or a bigot, or both.
early on, jon stewart always did a bit where he put on a cardigan and smoked and just kind of talked. i always liked that. then he quit smoking, and it went away.

Man, it sucks that I can never watch the clips people link. Comedy Central's website doesn't work for Canadian viewers (nor does Hulu), so we have to use the shitfest that is CTV's website. Ugh.

MAN WALKS ON FUCKING MOON
He's also voted the most trusted news anchor in the nation.
The Onion article about landing on the moon was my favorite of all time. I laughed so hard.

PAIN... YOUR ONLY LAB PARTNER!
and I don't even have cable
I really enjoy John Oliver.
I feel just the opposite. I like Colbert, but he always plays the same shtick whereas Stewart isn't just playing a character so I find him more clever and amusing.
see, that's stupid as hell

Nothing against Jon, I just think Colbert is funnier. And nobody will ever convince me that Samantha Bee isn't terrible.
don't remember which one though

It was boring, slow, and the jokes were either lame or executed poorly.
I seriously hated the show when he was hosting it.
The Onion's "Our Dumb World" is fucking fantastic and it's like $6 hardcover at Barnes & Noble right now.

That's pretty prophetic right there.

that is comedy gold
My favourite one that he did recently was him completely parodying Glenn Beck, complete with chalkboard
Nov 16 Episode with Lou Dobbs (douchebag)
Also his closing line at the end of the first segment is fucking hilarious.
"Of course the Special Olympics is to winners, as Fox News is to experts. If you show up, you are one."
Check. Mate.
oh fuck yeah, I forgot that line
hilarious
I love the he did about the queen being a venomous wench
