Goddamn elves. The female city elf origin is ridiculously awesome though.

Too bad I can't see it with a character that doesn't look like crap.

Okay here is the way I made my city elf that wasn't terrible: choose the preset with red hair, I think it's like fourth over from the left. Change the hairstyle to the one furthest right on the slider, the bun with a couple loose bangs. Tone the makeup down so she doesn't look like a whore. Pick a preset nose you like.

If that doesn't work, well, you're boned.

Random thought: Am I the only one who hates the new Bioware social site network thing? Its slow as hell, and the organization for the mod section is horrendous. There's no way that I can find to filter out the four billion "in development" projects that will never, ever be finished that people have decided to post and the mods that actually have a download attached.

Is there any DA mod site besides the www.damods.com place that is starting to coalesce into a TESNexus style place? More and more mods are starting to hit now that people are figuring out how to use the Toolset without their computer bursting into flame, but I've yet to find a well-designed place or system to find them.

Mage tower down again... god, Cullen is such a creep if you're a female mage. :?

The fade segment took me an hour and a half this time. Not bad, but still, considering I pretty much blew through it hyperspeed, it definitely could stand to be shorter.

And I could have sworn last time I did it that I was able to remove Wynne from my party, though I didn't because she was part of my main group. I had to ditch Shale and now I'll probably never see her little dream segment thing. And if I didn't have Wynne's 'oh crap I forgot to pay attention to my health and now people are dying, please reset their health to full' button I think a couple fights might actually have been challenging.

I had a really messed up bug in the Fade, though. (images)
If I changed form in combat, I'd stay graphically as the original form, but a bit weird/corrupted. Fun times:

It says on the Bioware addon page that the Return to Ostragar gives you another chance to add Dog to your party. Is there an option for Dog not to be in your party?

I've only played the game on human, though, so it may be different for Dwarf, Elf, Mage.

If you're not a human noble, you get the dog through a quest and a random encounter. If you don't complete the quest before leaving Ostagar, you don't get the encounter and, consequently, do not get the dog.

Yeah, you can miss dog if you don't complete a quest at Ostagar, if you're anything but Human Noble.

Also, I made a pretty elf, it's not that tough. Just need to play around with the default nose/cheeks/chin. They make all the default elves have upturned noses, wicked high cheekbones, and tiny little knife-edge chins, which don't tend to make me think hot.

I'd like to thank Dragon Age for reminding me why PC gaming is often not worth the trouble. I've been playing Borderlands peachy keen for about a month now, but once I install Dragon Age I start getting driver errors (like the really fun ones that freeze my computer), and now that I've managed to stop the driver errors it "can't find a suitable display device".

I like this game but whatever happened it's very much not worth it. Unfortunately, however, since I've input my key already, I can't exactly get my money back. Another lovely thing about PC gaming.

Let's compile a list of companions you can kill.
Dog, the moment you meet him. Leliana and Wynne, at the Urn. Alistair, pre-coronation. Wynne, when you meet her at the tower. That's all I know of, am I missing any? Not including LATER SPOILER COMPANION, who I don't think you can kill once they're a companion, but I may be wrong.

Consolidated COMPANIONS YOU CAN MURDER list, with the most gut-wrenchingly pathos-laden method available (spoilers right up to the end of the game):
Dog, the moment you meet him, after being informed he's sick but you can save him, by slitting his throat with a knife.

Alistair, after pardoning his mentor's murderer, choosing said murderer's daughter to rule his home nation, and by having him executed as a potential traitor despite being the son of King Maric.

Wynne, the moment you meet her, because Morrigan's a giant bitch and you agree with her.

Leliana, who turns on you in outrage as you literally pour infernal blood onto the ashen remains of her lord and savior Andastre, just so you can get a FUCKING SPECIALIZATION UNLOCK.

Sten, who doesn't even get the noble death of a warrior fighting against you, but is instead left to be eaten off-screen by genlocks.

Zevran, after he remarks on your amazing preparedness after his awesome LOG FALLS YOU DIE ambush, when you decide that nobody who ever wanted to assassinate you gets a ride. Only Sandal gets free rides, assassins just get killed and looted.

Shale, who bares her very soul to you, revealing the MONSTROUS NATURE OF GOLEMS, when you say, "You know what, Branka, more golems is probably a good idea. This chick Shale is all right. Let's make ten thousand more of HER."

This leaves a few companions that you apparently can't murder, and I'd love to be told I'm wrong.
Does anyone know a way you can kill, or at least cause the death of, Oghren or Morrigan? Leaving Morrigan's side-quest incomplete, I guess, counts as killing her. Does anyone know if that comes up in the epilogue? Loghain you can kill before he becomes a companion, and you can have die to the archdemon, but I didn't play through with Loghain in my party the first time, so if you can somehow kill him *between* the Landsmeet and the final battle, please post away. Also, I feel like I'm somehow missing a companion, but I think that's just the late hour.

Oh, here's something I've been thinking about for a while...

Is anyone else shocked that they didn't get Jennifer Hale to voice anything in this game? She's been their go-to girl for quite a few games now... Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate: Ultimate Alliance, Baldur's Gate II, KOTOR, Mass Effect... it just feels wrong not to hear her again. I'll admit, I've become quite enamored with her performances over the years. Not that the voice actors for Morrigan and Leliana do a bad job, not at all. They've been quite good. But Jennifer Hale and BioWare games, they're just two great tastes that taste great together. Or something like that.

Maybe she was just unavailable because of her duties on Brutal Legend. If so, that's a real shame.

I was disappointed, too. I was hoping she would at least have a minor role, what with Cam Clarke and a couple of other MGS alumni in there.

I met her at a con once, too. I've even got her autograph. <3

I didn't finish her quest and this is what happened to Morrigan in my Epilogue (spoilers, duh):
Someone fitting her description became the new advisor to the Empress of Orlais. If the sequel takes place in Orlais, which seems likely, then I could see that becoming a canon ending.
